Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 10.2.14: TNA Impact

By @BSA1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's the TNA Impact recap from last night's show. Impact took place from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania has served as TNA's second home for their shows, behind New York City. Some highlights of last night's show consisted of Austin Aries deciding on who he'll face after winning the Gold Rush Series Tournament last week. Gail Kim defended her TNA Knockouts Title against Havok, the female bulldozer that has been laying to waste the Knockouts Division. And we'll learn what match The Wolves will pick for the final match between The Wolves, Team 3D and The Hardy Boys. Let's get to the recap.

- In Ring Promo with Austin Aries: Austin Aries comes out to the ring to announce what title he'll be challenging for tonight after winning last Thursday's Gold Rush Series Tournament. Before he decides, Samoa Joe's music hits and out comes the Samoan Submission Machine. Joe says he's making Aries' decision for him because Aries needs to fight the best champion in TNA right now....Samoa Joe. Aries seems to dislike the idea but finally accepts.

- "TNA X-Division Championship Match": Samoa Joe (c) vs Austin Aries: Joe goes for the "Musclebuster" and Aries goes for the brainbuster but both can't connect. Aries with a submission on Joe but Joe hangs in and doesn't tap out. Aries hits a suicide dive on Joe on the floor and looks to have control of the match. Aries hits the missile drop kick and lands the brainbuster, but Joe still won't stay down. Aries gets caught in Joe's "Coquina Clutch" submission. Aries fights it as long as he can....but eventually taps out. Samoa Joe retains his TNA X Division Championship.

- In Ring Promo with Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud: ECIII looks to have turned his back on Spud as he insults Spud to his face, makes fun of Spud's hair and clothes and tells Spud he makes him sick. ECIII blames Spud for what happened to Aunt Dixie and says Spud's going to pay. ECIII slaps Spud as Eric Young heads to the ring. EY tells Spud to stop being a lackey and listen to the fans because ECIII will keep humiliating him. ECIII attacks EY and calls for a referee. We have an impromptu match.

- Ethan Carter III (w/Rockstar Spud) vs Eric Young: EY hits the top rope elbow and covers. Spud puts ECIII's foot on the rope, breaking the pin. ECIII orders Spud on the apron where EY lands a drop kick causing ECIII to hit Spud and sending Spud flying. Spud gets back up and distracts the referee allowing ECIII to low blow EY and hit the "One Percenter" for the pinfall.

- "TNA Knockouts Championship Match": Gail Kim (c) vs Havok: Havok attacks Kim from behind as she made her entrance and tosses Kim into the guardrail. Kim tries to fight back landing several punches. Havok grabs Kim in a bearhug and a hammerlock and slams Kim down shoulder first. We have TNA medical at ringside and they call the match off as Kim appeared to seriously injure her shoulder.

- In Ring Promo with The Wolves, Team 3D and The Hardy Boys: The Wolves come out to announce the stipulation of the final match in the Triple Threat Tag Team Series Final. Team 3D arrive and tell The Wolves they'll never be as good or conquer wrestling like Team 3D has, so Team 3D is picking the last match. The Hardy Boys arrive and agree with everything Team 3D has said. The Wolves say that both Team 3D and The Hardy's WERE great but The Wolves still ARE great. Bully Ray cheap shots Davey Richards and the three teams begin brawling. Kurt Angle arrives, breaks up the madness and orders The Wolves to pick their stipulation now. The Wolves pick.......FULL METAL MAYHEM!

- Backstage Segment with Gail Kim: Kurt Angle checks on Kim, who's getting her shoulder looked at. Kim's shoulder is separated but she demands to still fight Havok tonight. Angle ok's the decision and the ladies will main event tonight.

- Manik (w/The Great Sanada and James Storm) vs Shark Boy: Shark Boy returns to TNA...what?...I said Shark Boy returns to TNA. Shark Boy gets in some offense early but Manik hits a reverse power bomb into the tutnbuckle. Manik lands a suplex then comes off the top rope with a frog splash for the pinfall.

- MVP (w/ Kenny King) vs Ken Anderson (w/ Chris Melendez): MVP runs his mouth to Melendez but Melendez steps back. MVP lands a couple knees until Anderson finally dodges one. Anderson hits the rolling senton on MVP and sets MVP up for the "Mic Check". King jumps up on the apron but Melendez knocks King off. During the distraction, MVP rolls Anderson up from behind for the pinfall.

- Backstage Segment with Team 3D: Bully and Devon are still angry at The Wolves comments from earlier tonight. Bully says Team 3D will make it into every wrestling hall of fame.

- In Ring Promo with Bobby Roode: Says he's the longest reigning TNA World Champion ever, which he's proud of. Roode begins to talk about Bobby Lashley, when out come Lashley, MVP and Kenny King. Roode admits to losing and Lashley proving to be dominate. Roode says that he's watched their match over and over and noticed the look of shock that Lashley has never shown before when Roode kicked out of the spear. Roode asks for one more shot at the TNA World Title. Lashley goes to answer but MVP cuts Lashley off, says NO, then tells Lashley to leave.

- "TNA Knockouts Championship Match": Gail Kim (c) vs Havok: Kim strikes quick but without full force with the bum shoulder. Havok works over Kim with submission mat wrestling. Kim regains offense and applies the hanging ring post figure four. Kim tries to use her momentum to her advantage but gets caught by Havok and planted with a choke slam. Havok covers and scores the pinfall. Havok is the NEW TNA Knockouts Champion. Havok stands with the title as TNA medical hit the ring and again look over Gail Kim as Impact closes out.

And that's a wrap my friends. Till next time, tap or snap.
