Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 11.17.16: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT was the go home show to this Saturday night's NXT Takeover: Toronto event. Liv Morgan battled Peyton Royce. The Drifter Elias Samson returned to battle Nathan Cruz. In the main event, Andrade "Cien" Almas battled Cedric Alexander.

*** NXT ***

- Liv Morgan vs. Peyton Royce: The match closes out with Liv hitting a series of clotheslines on Peyton and then plants Peyton with a bulldog. Liv rolls through on Peyton and applies a Guillotine Choke submission. Just before Peyton taps out, Billie Kay hits the ring and attacks Liv, causing the DQ. After the match, Aliyah hits the ring and tries to help Liv, but Peyton and Billie beat down both ladies. Liv gets dropped face first on Billie's knees and Aliyah gets tossed into the apron LED board. Ember Moon finally hits the ring and cleans house on Peyton and Billie with drop kicks. Liv gets back to her feet and helps Ember clear the ring.
Winner: Liv Morgan, by DQ.

- It's announced that the Authors of Pain's manager Paul Ellering will be locked in a shark cage and suspended above the ring during the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament at NXT Takeover: Toronto.

- The video's that were played the past few weeks about a "Return" were for The Drifter Elias Samson.

- Elias Samson vs. Nathan Cruz: The match closes out with Samson grounding and pounding Cruz. Cruz comes back and picks Samson up in a fireman's carry, going for his finisher. Samson counters out and drops Cruz with the spinning neck breaker and scores the pinfall. 
Winner: Elias Samson, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Ember Moon, Liv Morgan and Aliyah challenge Peyton Royce and Billie Kay to find a third partner and come see them.

- We get a preview of the 2 Out of 3 Falls Match for the NXT World Tag Team Championship at NXT Takeover: Toronto, between DIY and The Revival.

- Bobby Roode Promo: Roode talks about his match against Tye Dillinger at NXT Takeover: Toronto. Roode again faults Dillinger for their loss in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. Roode promises victory and Takeover: Toronto will be nothing but GLORIOUS.

- Andrade "Cien" Almas vs. Cedric
Alexander: The match closes out with Alexander hitting an enziguri on Almas and follows that with a suicide dive. Almas counters an Alexander move and hits a power bomb for a near fall. Almas charges at Alexander, but gets laid out with the Lumbar Check. Almas avoids being pinned by rolling to the floor. Almas gets back in the ring and nails Alexander with a Hammerlock DDT and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Andrade "Cien" Almas, by pinfall.

- NXT closes out with a preview of the Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Samoa Joe NXT World Championship Match at NXT Takeover: Toronto.
