Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 11.1.16: RAW Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is back with this week's RAW Recap Edition. 

This week's RAW was live in Hartford, Connecticut and was a special Halloween edition. With the Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar match now official at WWE Survivor Series, Goldberg returned to give his thoughts. Enzo battled Luke Gallows in a Trick Or Treat Street Fight Match. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick defended his newly won title against TJ Perkins. A Battle Royal took place with the winner earning a spot on Team RAW at WWE Survivor Series. Lince Dorado, Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander battled Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari and Drew Gulak in a Six Man Tag Team Match. Charlotte introduces her new protege. Bayley battled Nia Jax. Sheamus and Cesaro battled The Shining Stars. In the main event, WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns defended the title against Chris Jericho.

*** RAW ***

- Goldberg Promo: Goldberg gets interrupted immediately by Paul Heyman. The fans chant for Goldberg and Heyman says they are pissing him him off. Heyman promises Goldberg that he has backup so Goldberg shouldn't try anything. Heyman says Brock Lesnar decided he wants to have a face to face with Goldberg now and calls out Lesnar. Lesnar's music hits, but Lesnar no shows. Heyman laughs and says he fooled Goldberg. Heyman says the disappointed look on Goldberg's face just now is how Goldberg's son will look when his dad gets destroyed by Brock Lesnar. Goldberg gets in Heyman's face for talking about his family, but Rusev interrupts. Rusev says Goldberg thinks he's a super hero, but there are no super heroes. Rusev knows Goldberg was unstoppable in WCW and had two vicious moves, however, looking at Goldberg, Rusev doesn't think Goldberg can deliver those moves anymore. Rusev calls Goldberg weak and punches Goldberg in the mouth. Goldberg stands unfazed and proceeds to lay out Rusev with the Jackhammer. Goldberg turns his attention to Heyman next and lays Heyman out with a spear.

- "Trick Or Treat Street Fight Match": Enzo vs. Luke Gallows: Enzo comes out dressed like Buzz Lightyear for Halloween. Big Cass is in Enzo's corner, Karl Anderson is in Gallows' corner. The match closes out with Gallows unloading on Enzo with a candy corn colored kendo stick. Enzo tosses pumpkins at Gallows. Enzo takes another kendo stick shot, but lands a bulldog on Gallows. Anderson gets on the apron, but gets a pumpkin pie tossed in his face. Cass hits Anderson with a big boot that sends Anderson crashing through the table of Halloween treats. Enzo lands a low blow and a kendo stick shot on Gallows. Cass puts a pumpkin over Gallows' head and Enzo hits the DDG for the pinfall.
Winner: Enzo, by pinfall.

- Backstage, we find out Paul Heyman has been taken to the hospital after taking Goldberg's spear.

- "WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match": Brian Kendrick (c) vs. TJ Perkins: The match closes out with Perkins trapping Kendrick in the knee bar submission, but Kendrick reaches the ropes. Perkins climbs the ropes, gets crotched and then trades shots with Kendrick. Perkins drops Kendrick face first on the ropes and then hits a springboard hurricanrana on Kendrick outside. Kendrick refuses to get back in the ring and takes the count out loss. After the match, Perkins attacks Kendrick and locks him in the knee bar submission.
Winner: TJ Perkins, by Countout, Brian Kendrick retains the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

- Backstage, Braun Strowman interrupts Mick Foley. Strowman demands to be on Team RAW at Survivor Series or he'll destroy the whole roster. Foley announces a battle royal tonight with the winner getting a spot on Team RAW. Foley tells Strowman to go earn his spot. 

- Mick Foley's Survivor Series Address: Foley says he's proud of everyone who competed at WWE Hell In A Cell except for Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Owens and Jericho immediately interrupt Foley. Owens and Jericho mock Foley. Foley says that he had to talk Stephanie McMahon out of suspending Jericho for making a mockery out of the Hell In A Cell match. Foley says he needs them both for Team RAW at WWE Survivor Series, but he also needs THE GUY. Roman Reigns' music hits and Reigns heads to the ring. Owens and Jericho aren't happy with the choice. Foley announces Reigns vs. Jericho for later tonight.

- Battle Royal For A Spot On Team RAW At WWE Survivor Series: The match closes out with Sheamus and Cesaro turning on each other, which resulted in Cesaro eliminating Sheamus. Braun Strowman eliminates Cesaro. Sheamus and Cesaro argue as they head to the back. Neville unloads on Strowman with kicks, but gets dropped with a clothesline. Strowman eliminates Neville and we're down to Strowman and Sami Zayn as the final two. Strowman splashes Zayn in the corner and goes for the elimination. Strowman and Zayn get tangled in the ropes, but Strowman powers out and eliminates Zayn for the win.
Winner: Braun Strowman, to earn a spot on Team RAW.

- Backstage, The New Day are dressed up like Kama, Papa Shango and The Godfather. Woods gives a moment of silence for Francesca 2 and says Francesca 3 is coming soon. The New Day announce that they are the team captains for Team RAW in the tag team elimination match at WWE Survivor Series. 

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": Lince Dorado, Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander vs. Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari and Drew Gulak: The match closes out with Nese attacking Alexander on the floor and then takes control inside the ring before tagging in Daivari. Alexander plants a kick on Daivari, but can't make a tag as Gulak tags in and stops Alexander. Gulak drops Dorado, but misses Nese. Nese and Swann both tag in and Swann hits a Rolling Thunder Splash on Nese for a near fall. All six men start brawling until Swann scores the pinfall on Nese.
Winners: Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander and Lince Dorado, by pinfall.

- Charlotte Promo: Charlotte says she made history at Hell In A Cell and Sasha Banks shouldn't feel bad in her hospital bed, because there's nothing wrong with losing. Charlotte announces that she will be the RAW team captain in the women's elimination match. Charlotte warns Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss and Carmella and then calls Bayley out who's on Team RAW. Bayley arrives and goes face to face with Charlotte. Bayley congratulates Charlotte on making history with Sasha at Hell In A Cell. Charlotte cuts Bayley off, mocks her and reminds her that this isn't NXT. Charlotte says that Bayley is the weakest link on Team RAW and will wrestle Charlotte's new protege tonight. Bayley says everyone is sick of hearing Charlotte talk and brags about beating Dana Brooke. Charlotte introduces Nia Jax as her new protege and Bayley's opponent tonight.

- Bayley vs. Nia Jax: Charlotte and Dana Brooke are on commentary. The match closes out with Bayley hitting three drop kicks on Nia, putting her down to one knee. Bayley hits a bulldog and some corner shoulder thrusts on Nia. Nia regains herself and slams Bayley to the mat. Nia goes for the leg drop, but stops, drags Bayley to the corner and goes up top. Bayley cuts Nia off and goes for a Super Bayley To Belly. Nia headbutts Bayley and she falls outside. Nia splashes Bayley into the barricade, fends off a Bayley kick and then hits a Samoan Drop to score the pinfall.
Winner: Nia Jax, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Sheamus and Cesaro are still arguing over what happened in the battle royal earlier.

- Sheamus and Cesaro vs. The Shining Stars: The match closes out with Sheamus unloading on Epico. Sheamus charges at Primo and sends him flying off the apron. Sheamus grabs Epico, sends him to the apron and unloads the Ten Beats forearms to the chest. Sheamus traps Epico in the Cloverleaf submission, as Primo tries to break it up. Cesaro hits the ring and lands an uppercut on Primo in mid air. Epico can't escape the submission and finally taps out. After the match, Sheamus and Cesaro still continue to bicker with each other.
Winners: Sheamus and Cesaro, by submission.

- Goldust and R-Truth were shown going through a haunted house earlier in the day.

- Backstage, Chris Jericho tells Kevin Owens he's winning the one WWE title he's never held, the WWE United States Championship. Owens applauds him and says he has his back like he had his at Hell In A Cell.

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Roman Reigns (c) vs. Chris Jericho: Kevin Owens is in Jericho's corner. The match closes out with Jericho dodging the Superman Punch and applies the Walls of Jericho submission. Reigns counters the submission, but goes down with an elbow. Reigns counters the Lionsault by getting his knees up. Jericho counters the Superman Punch and gets a near fall rollup. Reigns counters the Code Breaker and the Walls of Jericho again. Reigns gets a near fall sit down power bomb on Jericho. Owens gets on the apron, Reigns lands a punch on Owens, but almost gets pinned with a Jericho rollup. Reigns gets dumped on the apron, but hits the Superman Punch as Jericho spring boarded at Reigns.
Reigns spears Jericho, but Owens attacks Reigns causing the DQ. After the match, Jericho and Owens attack Reigns. Seth Rollins hits the ring and unloads on Owens. Rollins hits a Sling Blade on Jericho and two suicide dives on Owens. Rollins lands a springboard knee on Jericho and then super kicks Jericho. Rollins goes for the Pedigree, but Owens pulls Jericho to safety and they retreat. Reigns and Rollins stare each other down as the fans do the "Yes Movement" chant, wanting Reigns and Rollins to reunite to end the show. 
Winner: Roman Reigns, by DQ, to retain the WWE United States Championship.
