Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 11.3.16: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT took place at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament Classic continued, as we find out the Final Four.

- "Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Match": Roderick Strong vs. Shane Thorne: NXT GM William Regal announces that Strong's partner Austin Aries is injured, so this will be a one on one match between Strong and Thorne with the winner advancing their team. The match closes out with both men trading punches. Thorne hits a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Thorne hits a sit down power bomb on Strong, but the official gets distracted by Aries. Strong hits a flying knee on Thorne, as Aries again distracts the referee. The distraction backfires as Thorne rolls up and scores the pinfall on Strong.
Winners: TM-61, by pinfall, to advance to the Final Four.

- Next week Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura will have a contract signing for their NXT World Championship Match at Takeover: Toronto.

- "Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Match": DIY vs. The Revival: Scott Dawson comes out on crutches and tells Ciampa and Gargano that he's under doctors orders to not wrestle tonight. Dash Wilder says they are allowing Ciampa and Gargano to advance over them and to consider this a gift.
Winners: DIY, by Forfeit, to advance to the Final Four.

- Backstage, Cedric Alexander says he wants to thank Andre "Cien" Almas anytime, anyplace for the learning experience in NXT. 

- "Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Match": Rich Swann and No Way Jose vs. Authors of Pain: The match closes out with Jose unloading and Swann takes out Rezar. Jose hits the TKO on Akum for a near fall. Swann gets taken out and the Authors of Pain hit their double team finisher on Jose for the pinfall.
Winners: Authors of Pain, by pinfall, to advance to the Final Four.

- "Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Match": TJ Perkins and Kota Ibushi vs. SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton): The match closes out with Fulton trapping TJP in a bear hug submission. TJP escapes and tags Ibushi, who unloads kicks. Ibushi hits the Golden Star Power Bomb and has the pinfall, but Eric Young has the referee distracted. During the distraction, Fulton hits a drive by forearm on Ibushi and lays him out. Wolfe and Fulton hit their double team finisher and score the pinfall.
Winners: SAnitY, by pinfall, to advance to the Final Four.
