Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 6.26.15: #NXT & #SmackDown

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's this week's NXT and Smackdown recap for the week.

- This week's NXT took place at NXT's home base at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.

- Hideo Itami kicks off NXT in the ring with his arm in a sling. Itami says NXT is popular in Japan, they are excited to see Kevin Owens vs. Finn Balor on July 4th and whoever wins will deal with Itami when he returns from injury. Kevin Owens interrupts, calls the crowd "cute" chanting for Balor and guarantees it'll be him that beats Balor.
Owens is pissed that people are accusing him of being the one that broke Itami's arm, but since he's being accused he may as well break the other arm too. Owens rushes the ring, but Finn Balor follows out, makes the save and brawls with Owens back up the ramp. Balor goes for a dive on Owens, but Rhyno appears out of nowhere and hits the Gore on Balor. Rhyno then tosses Balor off the stage as Owens escapes.

- Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (w/Carmella) vs. Jason Jordan and Sylvester Lefort: The match closes out with Jordan and Lefort in control of the match. Enzo, however, scores a rollup pinfall out of nowhere for the victory.

- Backstage, Samoa Joe says last week he got the fight he wanted with Kevin Owens, but didn't get the fight he wanted cause Owens is still standing. Joe wants Owens in a rematch.

- Dana Brooke (w/Emma) vs. Cassie: The match closes out with Cassie hitting clotheslines and a running back kick. Cassie goes to the top rope, but gets stopped by Dana. Dana hits the Samoan Driver on Cassie and scores the pin.

- Backstage, Charlotte says she's not sure what Dana Brooke's problem is with her, Charlotte earned everything she achieved and wasn't handed a single thing. Charlotte promises to give Dana that message personally.

- NXT hypes their Beast In The East July 4th match in Japan and show a video hyping Finn Balor in his quest to win the NXT World Title from Kevin Owens.

- We find out that NXT GM William Regal has ordered Bull Dempsey to get into better shape.

- Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder vs. Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton: The match closes out with Ryder getting the hot tag and hitting major offense. Rawley and Ryder hit their spine buster/Rough Ryder combo and score the pin.

- Backstage, Eva Marie confronts NXT GM William Regal. Eva says she's been working really hard and knows Regal can give her a match. Regal says he can't just let her walk in and take a spot, she needs to prove she can go and will watch when she's ready to prove herself.

- Finn Balor vs. Rhyno: Kevin Owens appears and sits in on commentary. The match closes out with Owens getting up on the ring apron. Balor hits a drop kick on Owens, but gets laid out by a Rhyno belly to belly. Balor dodges the Gore and hits the Slingblade on Rhyno. Balor goes to the top rope and hits the double stomp on Rhyno and scores the pin. After the match, Owens and Rhyno double team Balor. Samoa Joe hits the ring, makes the save and chases Rhyno and Owens from the ring. Joe and Balor stare down Rhyno and Owens to close out NXT.

- This week's Smackdown took place in Toledo, Ohio.

- Seth Rollins kicks off Smackdown in the ring with a microphone. Rollins brags about taking out Brock Lesnar on RAW, happy The Authority is a happy family again, dedicates tonight's show to an injured Jamie Noble and puts Kane over. Rollins calls out Ryback and Ryback says he's is a real champion, not Rollins, Rollins is gutless and over protected. Kane challenges Ryback and Seth Rollins challenges Dean Ambrose so he can beat him one more time.

- Dolph Ziggler (w/Lana) vs. Sheamus: Rusev comes out and begs Lana to come back to him. Lana refuses and walks away. The match closes out with Ziggler getting a near fall super kick. Ziggler goes to the top rope, but gets knocked off by Sheamus. Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick and scores the pin.

- Backstage, Rusev is pissed that Lana won't take him back. Summer Rae appears and tells Rusev that Lana isn't worth it.

- Naomi (w/Tamina) vs. Alicia Fox (w/The Bellas): The match closes out with Tamina laying out The Bellas with super kicks. Naomi talks trash, but gets hit by a scissors kick from Alicia. Alicia covers and scores the pin.

- Kane vs. Ryback: Big Show attacks Ryback before the match even starts and rolls Ryback into the ring for Kane. The match closes out with Ryback fighting back into the match and hitting a spine buster and the Meat Hook. Ryback counters a choke slam and goes for Shell Shock. Big Show hits the ring and again attacks Ryback, causing a DQ. Show and Kane both lay Ryback out with choke slams.

- "Eight Man Tag Team Match": Prime Time Players and The Lucha Dragons vs. Bo Dallas and The New Day: The match closes out with both teams brawling. Kalisto hits Xavier Woods with a kick as Sin Cara takes to the sky and splashes everyone on the floor. Kalisto hits a springboard 450 splash and scores the pin.

- Backstage Dean Ambrose offers to help Roman Reigns attack Bray Wyatt. Reigns says he'll handle Bray alone and promises to still have Ambrose's back tonight. Reigns finds another photo from Bray as Kane arrives. Kane bans Reigns from the building tonight. Reigns says he will still find Bray and leaves peacefully with security.

- Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins: The match closes out with Ambrose taking out The Authority with a top rope splash. Ambrose hits a rebound clothesline on Rollins and goes after Mercury, who tries to interfere. Rollins kicks Ambrose during the distraction, hits the Pedigree and scores the pin. Rollins celebrates his victory as Smackdown closes out.
