Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 6/15/17: NXT Recap

NXT is back this week with the ladies taking the main event of the show. NXT Women's Champion Asuka looks to continue her undefeated streak as she enters a Triple Threat Elimination Match between Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross, with her title on the line.

** This Weeks Card **

- Drew McIntyre battled Rob Ryzin.
- NXT World Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain battled Beastly Brody and Malken in a non title match.
- "The Velveteen Dream" Patrick Clark battled Raul Mendoza.
- NXT Women's Champion Asuka defended her title against Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross in a Triple Threat Elimination Match.

- Heavy Machinery and The Authors of Pain go face to face.

** NXT **

- Drew McIntyre vs. Rob Ryzin: The match closes out with McIntyre hitting an axehandle from the top rope. Ryzin slaps McIntyre in the face, which just fires McIntyre up. McIntyre unloads on Ryzin and then hits the Claymore to score the pinfall.
Winner: Drew McIntyre, by pinfall.

- Authors of Pain vs. Beastly Brody and Malken: The match closes out quickly with Akam fighting the whole match alone while Paul Ellering and Razar talk strategy on the floor. Akam hits a fireman's carry slam and scores the pinfall. After the match, AOP hit the Super Collider on Brody and Malken and leave them laid out.
Winners: Authors of Pain, by pinfall.

- Authors of Pain Promo: Paul Ellering brags about AOP's success, being undefeated for a year and runs down all the tag teams that AOP have run over. Ellering then turns his attention to Heavy Machinery who have been calling out AOP the past few weeks. Ellering says Heavy Machinery won't even be a foot note in the Book of Pain. Heavy Machinery arrive and go face to face with AOP. Ellering steps in and orders AOP to retreat out of the ring and fight another day.

- "The Velveteen Dream" Patrick Clark vs. Raul Mendoza: The match closes out with Mendoza in control and unloading on Clark. Clark returns fire and delivers strikes on Mendoza. Mendoza lands a stiff kick on Clark. Clark hits a Cartwheel Driver on Mendoza and then hits the top rope elbow drop to score the pinfall.
Winner: "The Velveteen Dream" Patrick Clark, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Kassius Ohno is asked about Hideo Itami's new negative attitude. Ohno says Itami isn't a bad guy he just needs to build a bridge and get over what he's going through right now. Ohno then announces that he's battling Aleister Black next week.

- "NXT Women's Championship, Triple Threat, Elimination Match": Asuka (c) vs. Nikki Cross vs. Ruby Riot:

** First Elimination: Ruby hits a drop kick on Nikki that sends Nikki flying into the corner. Ruby goes to the top rope, but gets sent to the floor by Asuka. Asuka misses an aerial assault on Nikki and then gets planted with a swinging neck breaker by Nikki. Asuka rolls outside as Nikki hits Ruby with the swinging neck breaker to score the pinfall. Ruby Riot is eliminated. 

- Last Elimination: Asuka and Nikki rip into each other and both end up brawling on the floor. Asuka and Nikki brawl all over ringside, around the announcers table, onto the NXT stage and then end up brawling backstage, forcing the referee to end the match in a no contest. After the match, Asuka and Nikki brawl backstage into the loading dock area where both ladies send each other into the garage doors. Asuka and Nikki brawl into the catering area where Nikki tries to drown Asuka in an ice chest of bottled water. Asuka and Nikki brawl back to ringside and onto the production stage area. Nikki hits a cross body on Asuka, sending both ladies flying off the stage and through two tables below. Both ladies are left unconscious with officials checking on them to end the show.
Winner: No Contest, Asuka retains the NXT Women's Championship.
