WWE Extreme Rules Results

It's.....it's EXTREME!!! Sorry I just channeled the old ECW yell at the end of their beginning intro.

WWE was back at it last night on the WWE Network for RAW's WWE Extreme Rules pay per view, live from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. We found out who the new #1 Contender to the WWE Universal Championship was. All the titles were also on the line, except for the WWE Universal Championship, currently held by Brock Lesnar, who I'm sure was sitting at home and keeping a very close eye on who his next opponent will be....either that or he's fishing up in Canada.

** Extreme Rules Card **

- Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins all did battle in a Fatal Five Way, Extreme Rules #1 Contenders Match, to determine who goes on to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. 
- WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose defended his title against The Miz. If Dean Ambrose were to get DQ'ed than The Miz automatically wins the title.
- WWE RAW World Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boys defended their titles against Sheamus and Cesaro in a Steel Cage Match.
- WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville defended his title against Austin Aries in a Submission Match.
- WWE RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss defended her title against Bayley in a Kendo Stick On A Pole Match.
- Rich Swann and Sasha Banks battled Noam Dar and Alicia Fox in a Mixed Tag Team Match.
- Kalisto battled Apollo Crews.

** Extreme Rules Preshow **

- Social Media Lounge Interview With The Hardy Boys: The Hardy Boys talk about starting their career in the WWE and wanting to retire here. Matt says they beat Sheamus and Cesaro in a Ladder Match and a regular match, tonight they end this feud in a Steel Cage Match. Jeff teases that he's doing a Swanton Bomb off the top of the cage tonight and this will be Sheamus and Cesaro's last shot at winning the WWE RAW World Tag Team Championship.

- Kalisto vs. Apollo Crews: The match closes out with Crews countering Salida Del Sol, but Kalisto counters a suplex and gets a near fall. Kalisto unloads kicks until Crews scoops up Kalisto for a slam. Kalisto counters and hits a DDT for a near fall. Kalisto goes for a springboard, but Crews catches him and hits a Samoan Drop. Crews hits the Standing Shooting Star Press and gets a near fall. Titus O'Neil gets on the apron and yells at Crews. Crews starts arguing with Titus allowing Kalisto to hit Salida Del Sol for the pinfall. After the match, Titus and Crews continue to argue with each other.
Winner: Kalisto, by pinfall.

** Extreme Rules **

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match, If Dean Ambrose Gets DQ'ed He'll Lose The Title": Dean Ambrose (c) vs. The Miz: The match closes out with Ambrose countering the Skull Crushing Finale and gets a near fall rollup. Maryse gets on the apron as Miz blocks Dirty Deeds. Maryse almost gets knocked off the apron and Miz tells Maryse to slap Ambrose, which she does. The referee sends Maryse away from the ring because he knows she's trying to get Ambrose DQ'ed. Miz and the referee start arguing until Ambrose rolls up Miz. Miz kicks out and sends Ambrose into the referee. Ambrose and the referee start arguing as the referee was about to DQ Ambrose. Ambrose tells the referee what happened and begs him not to DQ him. Miz sneaks up on Ambrose, hits the Skull Crushing Finale and scores the pinfall to win the title.
Winner: The Miz, by pinfall, to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

- Backstage, Bayley says she's been inspired by Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, Steve Blackman and Wonder Woman. Bayley says she's willing to do what is necessary to defeat Alexa Bliss.

- Rich Swann and Sasha Banks vs. Noam Dar and Alicia Fox: The match closes out with Dar and Swann trading punches. Dar lands an uppercut, but Swann kicks Dar in the face. Alicia and Sasha hit the ring and then brawl outside to the floor. Sasha sends Alicia into the apron. Swann and Dar end up on the flooring brawling now as Sasha goes to the top rope. Sasha hits double knees off the top rope and to the floor on both Dar and Alicia. Dar gets tossed back into the ring where Swann hits the Phoenix Splash for the pinfall.
Winners: Rich Swann and Sasha Banks, by pinfall.

- Elias Samson Promo: Samson is in the ring with his guitar. Samson sings a song about Extreme Rules and how bad Baltimore, Maryland sucks.

- "WWE RAW Women's Championship, Kendo Stick On A Pole Match": Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Bayley: The match closes out with both ladies going for the kendo stick. The stick falls in the ring as the ladies fall outside. Alexa suplexes Bayley on the floor. Bayley comes back, leaps in the ring and grabs the kendo stick. Bayley chases Alexa around the ring swinging the stick. Alexa is trapped in the corner and begs Bayley not to hit her. Alexa charges, tackles Bayley and grabs the stick. Alexa unloads stick shots on Bayley and yells at Bayley to get up. Bayley fires back, but gets shoved into the stick. Alexa smacks Bayley with another stick shot then hits the DDT to score the pinfall to retain her title.
Winner: Alexa Bliss, by pinfall, to retain the WWE Women's Championship.

- We get a ringside shot of the Baltimore Orioles in attendance dressed as WWE Icons.

- "WWE RAW World Tag Team Championship, Steel Cage Match": The Hardy Boys (c) vs. Sheamus and Cesaro: The match closes out with Jeff climbing out of the cage, but both men have to escape to win. Matt hits the Side Effect on Sheamus and Cesaro. Cesaro stops Matt from climbing out of the cage. Sheamus and Cesaro shoves Jeff away, who's trying to help Matt and then Matt gets slammed on the mat. Jeff shoves the door at Cesaro and Sheamus Brogue Kicks the door into Jeff. Matt stops Sheamus from escaping and hits the Twist of Fate. Matt and Cesaro stop each other from escaping. Matt eats an uppercut on the cage wall from Cesaro and Sheamus hits a Super White Noise off the cage. Jeff climbs back up the cage wall and leaps back into the ring, hitting Whisper in the Wind. Matt and Jeff try to escape through the door as Sheamus and Cesaro climb the wall. Sheamus and Cesaro hit the floor first to win the titles.
Winners: Sheamus and Cesaro, by Cage Escape, to win the WWE RAW World Tag Team Championship. 

- "WWE Cruiserweight Championship, Submission Match": Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries: The match closes out with Neville applying the Rings of Saturn submission, but Aries escapes. Neville attempts the Rings of Saturn submission again, but Aries counters it and applies his own Rings of Saturn submission on Neville. Neville refuses to give up and Aries begins arguing with the referee. Neville hits a super kick then uses the ropes to apply a guillotine choke on Aries. Aries escapes, hits a sunset flip power bomb and then applies the Last Chancery submission on Neville. Neville slides out to the floor still trapped in the submission and taps out. The tap out doesn't count since Neville is outside the ring. Back in the ring, Aries hits the Discus Five Arm on Neville. Neville goes to the floor where Aries misses a suicide dive attempt. Back in the ring, Neville hits the Red Arrow and then applies the Rings of Saturn submission, making Aries tap out to retain his title.
Winner: Neville, by submission, to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

- "Fatal 5 Way, Extreme Rules Match": Bray Wyatt vs. Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns vs. Finn Balor: The match closes out with Rollins frog splashing Bray through the announcers table. Rollins and Reigns are in the ring trading shots. Rollins takes control, but gets hit with an uppercut by Reigns. Rollins counters a clothesline and nails an overhead kick on Reigns. Reigns counters a power bomb and drills Rollins with the Superman Punch for a near fall. Rollins counters the spear and gets a near fall rollup on Reigns. Rollins with a near fall super kick on Reigns and another near fall frog splash. Rollins misses a Phoenix Splash on Reigns, forcing him to roll through. Bray suddenly returns and attempts Sister Abigail, but Reigns charges. Reigns hits a spear on Bray, but gets hit with the Buckle Bomb by Rollins. Reigns hits a Superman Punch on Rollins and then one to Balor, as Balor returned. Balor comes back, hits Slingblade on Reigns and then the running corner drop kick. Balor goes for Coup de Grace, but Joe comes out of nowhere and locks Balor in the Coquina Clutch submission. Balor tries to fight it but passes out to end the match.
Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission, to become the new #1 Contender to the WWE Universal Championship.
