Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 4.17.15: #NXT & #SmackDown Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE.  It's this week's NXT and Smackdown recaps for the week.

*** NXT ***

- NXT was taped in Orlando Florida, at Full Sail University.

- C.J. Parker vs. Solomon Crowe: Parker hits a big leg strike and gets a near fall. Parker misses a senton splash and Crowe capitalizes by hitting a running boot. Crowe climbs the ropes and splashes Parker on his leg. Crowe locks in the stretch muffler submission and Parker taps out.

- Baron Corbin vs. Steve Cutler: Corbin quickly runs over Cutler and scores the easy pinfall with "End of Days".

- In Ring Promo with Enzo Amore and Big Cass: How You Doin'? Enzo refers to himself as the “Smack-talker Skywalker” and a few other nicknames. Big Cass calls out the NXT World Tag Team Champions, Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy.

- Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton: Blake and Murphy show up middle match and give Carmella flowers. Amore and Cass hit the double team splash and score the pinfall. Amore and Cass aren't too happy with Carmella and her flowers.

- Blue Pants vs. Dana Brooke: Brooke, the self proclaimed "Total Diva" hits the fireman's carry front slam and scores the pinfall.

- Backstage, Alex Riley sends a message to Kevin Owens. Riley says one loss to Owens didn't make him go away. Riley will be back next week for part two.

- Sami Zayn vs. Rhyno: Zayn hits the "Blue Thunder Bomb" and gets a near fall. Zayn and Rhyno brawl on the floor and Zayn suicide dives over the ropes and takes out Rhyno. Back in the ring, Rhyno hits a belly to belly suplex and sets Zayn up for the "Gore". Zayn dodges the charging Rhyno and hits the "Helluva Kick". Zayn covers and scores the pinfall. Zayn celebrates his return match as NXT closes out.

*** Smackdown ***

- Smackdown was taped in London, England this week.

- In Ring Promo with John Cena: Cena talks about Rusev and Extreme Rules and then begins his usual U.S. Open Challenge. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro answer. Kidd says they don't want to challenge him, instead they mock Cena and tell him he needs to retire. Cena tells one of them to step up, but Daniel Bryan cuts off the challenge. Bryan says he and Cena are the best champions in the WWE right now and wants to team with Cena tonight to prove it. Kidd and Cesaro accept the challenge.

- Bray Wyatt vs. R-Truth: Truth dances as Bray does the spider walk at one point in the match. Truth counters a side slam and goes for the scissors kick. Bray counters the kick and hits a cross body. Bray next hits "Sister Abigail", covers Truth and scores the pinfall.

- In Ring Promo with The Miz: Miz makes fun of Damien Sandow and mocks Summer Rae. Bad News Barrett interrupts Miz. Barrett says they are in England, not Hollywood and the fans want to see Barrett. Barrett claimes he'll crush Miz, like he will crush Daniel Bryan and the "Yes Movement" at Extreme Rules.

- The Miz vs. Bad News Barrett: Miz wastes time and showboats. Miz turns around and gets crushed with the "Bullhammer". Barrett covers and scores the pinfall.

- Backstage, Miz interrupts Damien Sandow and Summer Rae. Miz says Sandow's win on RAW was a fluke and wants another match. Miz puts his whole Hollywood gimmick on the line in the next match and makes fun of Summer. Summer slaps Miz as Sandow imitates the whole incident and accepts Miz's challenge.

- Sheamus vs. Neville: Neville goes for "Red Arrow", but Sheamus rolls to the floor, where he hits a fireman's carry slam on Neville. Later in the match, Neville again goes for "Red Arrow", but Sheamus crotches Neville on the ropes. Sheamus goes for "White Noise", but Neville counters with a near fall rollup. Neville sends Sheamus to the floor with kicks and clotheslines. Sheamus gets himself DQ'ed by slamming Neville on the announcers table.

- After The Match: Sheamus is pissed that he was DQ'ed and attacks Neville. Dolph Ziggler hits the ring and makes the save.

- In Ring Promo with Dolph Ziggler: Ziggler mocks Sheamus for running away because he's a bully. Sheamus tells Ziggler he can kiss his arse. Ziggler says Sheamus can kiss his. Sheamus says that Ziggler literally will kiss his arse because at Extreme Rules it'll be Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler in a "Kiss My Arse Match". Ziggler accepts.

- Los Matadores (w/El Torito) vs. The New Day: Kofi hits "Trouble in Paradise" on Fernando. Diego switches places with Fernando, behind the referee's back. The switch backfires as Big E and Kofi hit their double team finisher to score the pinfall.

- Backstage, Fandango fires Rosa and says the world needs to start "Fandangoing" again. Adam Rose appears and tells Rosa she could be on top again if the right opportunity came up.

- In Ring Promo with Big Show: Show brags about being dominate and brags about the damage he did to Roman Reigns on RAW. Show has been granted a "Last Man Standing Match" against Reigns at Extreme Rules. Show says he'll be the last one standing and we can believe that.

- Nattie Neidhart vs. Alicia Fox vs. Cameron: Nattie and Cameron trade rollups before Nattie counters into a "Sharpshooter". Fox tries to break the submission, so Nattie locks Fox in the "Sharpshooter". Cameron breaks the submission and Nattie tosses Cameron to the floor. Fox scissor kicks Nattie, but Cameron tosses Fox to the floor and steals the pinfall on Nattie for the win.

- Fandango vs. Adam Rose: Rosa comes down to the ring and yells at Fandango for firing her. Rose attacks Fandango from behind and winks at Rosa. Rosa tries to talk to Rose, which distracts him. Fandango sneaks in and scores the rollup pinfall on Rose.

- "Champions vs. Champions Match": Daniel Bryan and John Cena vs. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro: Bryan lands stiff kicks on Cesaro and sends Cesaro to the floor. Bryan traps Kidd in the corner and unloads stiff kicks on Kidd. Bryan goes for a running kick, but Nattie Neidhart jumps up on the apron. Kidd inadvertently knocks Nattie off the apron and then gets locked in the "Yes Lock" submission by Bryan. Cena lands the "AA" on Cesaro as Kidd taps out to the "Yes Lock". Cena and Bryan celebrate as Smackdown closed out.
