Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. Today's edition is your Smackdown recap from last night's show. Smackdown took place this week in Austin, Texas. Daniel Bryan is looking ahead to the Royal Rumble, but has to beat Kane, tonight, to get there. Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback are back, thanks to John Cena and another assist from Sting. Tonight those three look for a chance to earn a spot into the Royal Rumble as well. Let's get to this week's Smackdown recap.
- In Ring Segment with Daniel Bryan: Bryan says he could talk about his match with Kane, winning the WWE World Title back, Sting and The Authority sucking but he won't. Instead Bryan calls out Erick Rowan, Ryback and Dolph Ziggler, who have been re-instated. Ryback says this is his dream, The Authority sucks and thanks John Cena and Sting. Rowan takes the mic next and says being gone gave him time to think, he's seen a new light and proved he belongs on top at Survivor Series. Ziggler takes the mic next and says he'd take any punishment from The Authority, as long as he's not sitting at home and bitching about it on a podcast (CM Punk shot). The Authority cut them off and are out to give their opinions. Seth Rollins has a mic and calls Bryan a garden gnome. Ziggler says Rollins has his nose up Triple H's ass and dares him to come to the ring. Rollins says he has more important business tonight. Kane calls Bryan and company disrespectful and Big Show says he'll destroy Bryan and company in the Royal Rumble. Bryan and Ziggler make fun of Rollins running from Lesnar and Kane and Show getting "F-5'ed" by Lesnar on RAW. Ziggler wants a fight, so he gets Bad News Barrett in the opening match.
Ziggler hits a drop kick for two. Barrett sends Ziggler into the ring post. Ziggler dodges a Barrett corner splash and hits a DDT. Barrett grounds Ziggler with an armbar. Ziggler hits a jawbreaker, then dodges another Barrett corner charge. Ziggler hits a splash, a neck breaker and drops an elbow on Barrett for a near fall. Barrett kicks Ziggler then goes for the "Bullhammer". Ziggler counters with a drop kick then hits the "Zig Zag". Ziggler covers Barrett and scores the pinfall. Ziggler is in the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
- Backstage, Roman Reigns talks about his issues with Big Show, says Show is a scared little man in a giants body and he'll go through Show first, on his way to winning the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
- Backstage, Fandango draws his Royal Rumble number. Fandango looks to have drawn a great number, as he makes out with Rosa to celebrate. Dean Ambrose switches his numbers with Fandango during the make out session.
- "Ryback's Royal Rumble Spot On The Line": Ryback vs Rusev: Ryback chases Rusev out with a shoulder block then scores a near fall with a reversed suplex. Rusev plants some kicks and stomps. Ryback hits an elbow, some chops, a boot and a power slam on Rusev. Ryback hits a sit down stunner but gets his power bomb countered with a slam by Rusev for a near fall. Ryback gets crotched on the ropes and kicked in the face. Rusev goes for "The Accolade" but Ryback counters with the spine buster. Ryback goes for the "Meat Hook" but Rusev rolls to the floor. Ryback tosses Rusev into the barricade and unloads on Rusev with punches. Ryback gets back in the ring and wins by count out. After the match, Rusev attacks Ryback and goes for the thrust kick. Ryback counters the kick and nails the "Meat Hook" on Rusev. Ryback calls for "Shell Shock" but Rusev escapes. Ryback is in the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
- Brie Bella vs Naomi: Naomi with a quick near pinfall rollup. Brie lands some shots then plants Naomi with a bulldog. Brie charges Naomi with the running knee but Naomi moves out of the way. Naomi gets some shots of her own in until Brie works on Naomi's knee. Brie hits Naomi with the sit down facebuster and scores the pinfall.
- "Rowan's Royal Rumble Spot On The Line": Erick Rowan vs Luke Harper: The former Wyatt Family members do battle again tonight. Harper lands kicks early. Rowan plants Harper with a hiptoss, hits three corner splashes and near falls Harper with a spin kick. Rowan still in control, gets a near fall on a power bomb. Rowan climbs the ropes but misses a splash. Harper lands a big boot, then a clothesline on Rowan to score the pinfall. Rowan is banned from the Royal Rumble.
- "No DQ Match, Bryan's Royal Rumble Spot On The Line": Daniel Bryan vs Kane: Kane hits a neck breaker on the floor. Kane sends Bryan head first into the barricade. Kane has a kendo stick, but Bryan steals it and unloads kendo stick shots on Kane. Bryan leaps off the ropes but catches a Kane jaw uppercut. Kane hits Bryan with a steel chair. Bryan goes for a suicide dive but Kane counters with a shot. Kane tosses Bryan into the steel steps as Mercury and Noble arrive. Kane goes for the "Tombstone" on the announcers table but Bryan counters and shoves Kane off the table. Kane blocks a running knee. Bryan sends Kane into the ring post and hits a dive, wiping everyone out. Mercury and Noble attack Bryan as Kane goes to the top rope. Bryan dodges Kane's top rope move and goes for the "Yes Lock". Mercury and Noble break up the submission. Bryan unloads on Mercury and Noble with kicks, splashes and drop kicks. Kane plants Bryan with a choke slam and gets a near fall. Kane grabs a steel chair and moves toward Bryan. Bryan hits a drop kick on Kane's knee, sending Kane face first into the turn buckle. Bryan hits the running knee and scores the pinfall. Bryan is in the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
- After the match, Big Show gets in the ring and attacks Bryan. Show unloads on Bryan as the rest of The Authority join in on the attack. Erick Rowan, Ryback and Dolph Ziggler hit the ring to make the save for Bryan. The whole Smackdown locker room empties out next and we have a Royal Rumble preview as bodies are everywhere. Roman Reigns is out next, sends Big Show to the floor and "Superman Punches" Miz and Damien Sandow. Smackdown closes out with Bryan, Reigns, Rowan, Ryback and Ziggler left as the last ones standing.
