Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's the RAW recap from last night's show. RAW took place this week in New Orleans, Louisiana, the city known for its Jazz music and of course home of the king of all parties, the Mardi Gras. Last week on RAW, we saw Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback fired by The Authority. Seth Rollins added to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match at Royal Rumble. My boy, Bad News Barrett crowned new WWE Intercontinental Champion. How would RAW fair this week? Let's get to this week's RAW recap.
- In Ring Segment with John Cena: Cena talks about The Authority being back, how Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback were fired last week, says he's winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Royal Rumble, will go home with the title leaving WWE without a champion for Wrestlemania and won't return unless Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback are rehired. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon arrive. Triple H and Cena go back and forth with Triple H finally giving Cena an opportunity. Triple H announces Cena vs. Seth Rollins in an "All Heels Lumberjack Match" and if Cena wins then Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback can have their jobs back. And that match is now.
- "All Heels Lumberjack Match": John Cena vs. Seth Rollins: Cena gets tossed to the floor and attacked, but Cena gets a shot in on Bad News Barrett. Rollins takes control until Super Cena hulks up. Rollins blocks the "Five Knuckle Shuffle". Cena hits the "Five Knuckle Shuffle" on the second attempt and after more back and forth action. Cena hits the "AA" on Rollins, but Mercury and Noble jump on the apron. Cena knocks the Stooges off as the lumberjacks pull Rollins out of the ring to safety. Cena climbs to the top rope and leaps to the floor, body pressing the pile of lumberjacks. Back in the ring, Rollins gets a couple near falls and counters another Cena "AA". Cena hits the "AA" on the next attempt and Mercury and Noble again get involved. Cena gets pulled to the floor and beat down by the lumberjacks. Rollins goes for the "Curb Stomp" but Cena counters it into the "STF" submission. Kane and Big Show help Rollins escape the submission. Show lands the knockout punch on Cena allowing Rollins to cover Cena for the pinfall.
- Backstage Segment with Stephanie McMahon, Naomi, The Usos and Dean Ambrose: Due to comments made on Smackdown, Stephanie is making Naomi fight with one hand tied behind her back tonight. Stephanie is also making Dean Ambrose get evaluated by a doctor tonight, because he's a threat to everyone. If Ambrose fails, than he's banned from the Royal Rumble.
- Backstage, The Miz and Damien Sandow joke about The Golden Globes.
- Backstage, The doctor meets with Dean Ambrose. The doctor appears to be hypnotizing Ambrose with a clock.
- Cesaro and Tyson Kidd vs. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods: Kofi flies over the ropes and takes out Cesaro. Kidd, elbow off the top rope on Kofi for two. Cesaro and Kidd double team Kofi. Cesaro with the "Cesaro Swing" and a double team move by Kidd, for a near fall on Kofi. More beatdowns and double teams until Kofi finally hot tags Woods. Woods unloads on Kidd and kicks Cesaro. Adam Rose, who's at ringside, gets on the apron. Woods chases Rose off and Big E lays Rose out on the floor. Woods and Kofi hit the double team stomp on Kidd for the pinfall.
- Rumors have been circulating that "Macho Man" Randy Savage is officially going to be apart of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015.
- In Ring Segment with Big Show: Show talks about his WCW days, competition, job security and says Roman Reigns isn't competition. Says Reigns is the WWE's version of the New York Knicks, Reigns is a loser and so are Reigns' fans. Roman Reigns' music hits and out comes Reigns through the crowd. Show exits as Reigns is in the ring with a mic. Reigns compares Show to Jack and the Beanstalk, basically telling the whole story with Reigns as Jack and him kicking the Giant's (Show) teeth down his throat. Luke Harper arrives looking for a fight and Show directs him to Reigns.
- Roman Reigns vs. Luke Harper: Samoan drop on Harper and Reigns goes for the "Superman Punch". Harper escapes to the floor. Reigns and Harper trade moves then end up on the floor. Harper tosses Reigns into the barricade. Reigns hits a neck breaker for two then goes for another samoan drop. Harper counters and lands the big boot for two. Reigns counters the Harper power bomb with a side slam for two. Reigns goes for the "Superman Punch" but Show distracts Reigns, allowing Harper to get a near fall after a side slam. Reigns goes to the floor, stares down Big Show then lands the flying apron drop kick on Harper. Reigns kicks Show in the face, but Reigns eats a super kick from Harper for a near fall. Harper goes for the head decapitating clothesline but gets crushed with a Reigns spear instead. Reigns covers and has the pinfall. After the match, Show attacks Reigns and knocks Reigns out with the knockout punch.
- Backstage, Jimmy Uso and Naomi are upset about Naomi's stipulations later.
- Backstage, more comedy with Miz and Damien Sandow. Miz has been having a camera crew film his home life for the past six months. (If it involves shower scenes of his wife Maryse, I'll watch it).
- "Naomi One Hand Tied Behind The Back": Naomi vs. Alicia Fox: Naomi gets little offense in until Fox takes over. Fox, back breaker for two. Fox taunts the one handed Naomi. Naomi unloads with kicks, kicking Fox to the floor. Naomi follows and beats Fox around the floor. Back in the ring, Fox lands a kick then follows with the scissors kick to score the pinfall. The Usos look upset, backstage, after the match.
- Backstage, the doctor shows Dean Ambrose pictures of WWE Superstars and Ambrose has to say the first thing that comes to mind.
- In Ring Segment with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar: Heyman reminds us that Lesnar was the 1 that put the 1 in Undertaker's 21-1 Wrestlemania streak last year. Heyman calls Lesnar dominate and hypes the WWE World Heavyweight Championship contract signing for Royal Rumble later.
- The Miz vs. Jey Uso: Back and forth action, starting things out. Jey hits a cross body on Miz from the top rope. Jey hits a splash in the corner but Miz lands a kick to Jey's knee. Miz works over Jey's leg then goes for the figure four leg lock. Jey counters the submission and cradles Miz for a near fall. Jimmy Uso and Damian Sandow get involved, causing a distraction. Miz capitalized and hit Jey with the "Skull Crushing Finale" to pick up the pinfall.
- In Ring Segment with Daniel Bryan: Talks about last time being in New Orleans he left WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Says he's winning the Royal Rumble this year, main event Wrestlemania and doesn't care what The Authority have to say about it. Stephanie McMahon interrupts Bryan with a mic in hand. Stephanie gives Bryan a copy of her fitness DVD then shows footage of Kane "Tombstone" piledriving Bryan on the steel steps last year. Steph says Bryan isn't an A+ player, talks about his surgery and makes fun of Bryan's unborn children. Bryan tells Steph to do the "yes" chant cause it's probably a better workout then her DVD, talks about his road to the title last year and his road back from injury this year. Steph announces that Kane will be his opponent this week on Smackdown and out comes the Corporate sellout. Bryan and Kane go at it on the floor. Kane tosses Bryan into the steel steps and goes for the "Tombstone" piledriver. Bryan counters, shoves Kane into the ring post and unloads on Kane. Referees pull both men apart but Bryan hits a running knee, a suicide dive and gets some mounted punches in on Kane before the fight is over.
- Backstage Segment with Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins: Rollins says he's the future of the WWE. Lesnar says he'll decide when the future begins. Heyman tries to make them focus on destroying John Cena at the Royal Rumble.
- Brie Bella vs. Paige: Nattie Neidhart and her husband Tyson Kidd are at ringside. Paige lands knees on Brie. Brie hits a running knee of her own into Paige's face. Brie drop kick for a two count. Paige hits a kick on Brie for a two count. Kidd gets on the apron, distracting Paige. Brie rolls Paige up for the pinfall. After the match, Nattie yells at Kidd then smiles as Paige slaps Kidd in the mouth.
- Backstage, Bray Wyatt has officially entered this year's Royal Rumble and hypes up the match.
- Randy Savage is officially announced for the WWE Hall of Fame. Hulk Hogan is confirmed to be his inductor.
- The Ascension vs. Two Local Wrestlers: More better then past tag team videos and the "Fall of Man" delivered to their opponents for the pinfall.
- Backstage, Dean Ambrose somehow reversed the roles as he now has the doctor on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Ambrose tells him to sign the papers that approves Ambrose to be in the Royal Rumble and he'll help the doctor get help. The doctor signs the papers, clearing Ambrose for the Royal Rumble.
- In Ring Segment with Rusev and Lana: Lana thanks The Authority for firing Ryback, thanks John Cena for failing earlier tonight and Rusev says Ryback was spineless and deserved to be fired. Dean Ambrose's music hits and Ambrose attacks Rusev to start their match.
- Rusev vs. Dean Ambrose: Ambrose running bulldog. Ambrose charges but Rusev takes out the knee. Rusev works on the knee next. Rusev counters a tornado DDT attempt by Ambrose and tosses him across the ring. Ambrose drops Rusev, goes to the top rope and hits the flying elbow for two. Rusev lands kicks and a knee to Ambrose. Rusev refuses to let up with the knees in the corner on Ambrose. The referee stops the match and awards it to Rusev. After the match, Ambrose argues with the referee for stopping the match, then catches a Rusev thrust kick to the face. Rusev poses with the Russian Flag.
- Contract Signing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match at Royal Rumble: Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are all present. Heyman speaks first, talks Brock Lesnar, John Cena, The Authority, what's best for business and builds up Lesnar's accomplishments. Heyman thinks the triple threat match could now become a double cross. Rollins is next, brags about everything he's done and he's winning the title. Lesnar speaks, says he's conquered Triple H, John Cena and The Undertaker, he'll conquer Rollins too. Cena is up next, says he's winning the title, he and Lesnar will kick Rollins' ass then Cena will kick Lesnar's ass.
Rollins says Cena has a great plan but his plans seem to never work. Cena ducks Rollins as he swings his briefcase. Lesnar hits german suplexes on Cena and Rollins. Cena picks Lesnar up and hits "AA" through a table. Triple H distracts Cena, allowing Rollins to hit the "Curb Stomp" on Cena. Rollins then hits the "Curb Stomp" on Lesnar. The Authority celebrate on the stage as Cena is out on the floor and Lesnar is looking up at The Authority from the mat.
