Weekend 3 Count 12/29 - 1/4 #WWE #TNA #GFW

By @B_Rock1978

The Weekend 3 Count is brought to you by Triple Threat CLE.

*** Weekend Flashback ***

- From now till the Royal Rumble, I'll be flashbacking to some of my favorite moments in the Royal Rumble. This week I picked four highlight videos of Royal Rumble endings that caused controversy.

- First up it's the 1994 Royal Rumble. Lex Luger and Bret Hart both go over the ropes to end the Rumble.

- Next up it's the 1995 Royal Rumble. Davey Boy Smith eliminates Shawn Michaels to win the Rumble......but wait......Michaels actually wins it.

- Next it's the 1997 Royal Rumble. Bret Hart eliminates Steve Austin but Austin still wins the Rumble.

- Finally it's the 2005 Royal Rumble. Batista and John Cena eliminate each other and the Chairman of the WWE, Vince McMahon, breaks a leg to restart the match.....literally.

*** WWE News and Rumors ***
- During RAW this week we seen new WWE World Tag Team Champions crowned, as The Usos defeated The Miz and Damien Sandow. The Usos are now 2-Time World Tag Team Champions.

- Also during RAW, Christian was announced as being retired. This is in fact true due to nagging injuries, Christian is in fact retired from the ring.

- And also on RAW, The Authority are back in charge again. John Cena was forced to agree to let Triple H and Stephanie McMahon return to TV to save Edge from getting his neck broken by Seth Rollins.

- UFC President, Dana White, recently commented on the rumors about Brock Lesnar coming back to the UFC. White has stated that they are in fact rumors and that he has not spoken to Lesnar in the past few months. Bellatar MMA have also made it known that they are interested in Lesnar but have not officially contacted Lesnar yet.

- Chris Jericho is still not expected to be at Wrestlemania 31 this year. Jericho's current contract states he'll make 15 appearances from January through February. Afterwards he'll be back on tour with Fozzy. On a side note that has nothing to do with wrestling but more to do with Jericho's band Fozzy. I seen Fozzy back in October at the Cleveland House of Blues. Awesome show, Fozzy puts on a great performance. If you're a fan of hard rock and metal, check Fozzy out. (Cheap pop for you Jericho, you're welcome sir.)

- Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan, is currently working on an autobiography. Bryan stated that it will be about the wrestling road diaries that he wrote during his travels with Colt Cabana and Sal Rinauro before he joined WWE in 2009.

- Daniel Bryan officially announced that he is cleared to come back to wrestle on this past week's RAW. Bryan will enter the 2015 Royal Rumble.

- Randy Orton recently had surgery on his nose, repairing a deviated septum. The injury is only a two week recovery. Reason why Orton hasn't returned to WWE TV as of yet.

- Sheamus is scheduled to make his return to the WWE soon, after being out due to surgery. There is some speculation that Sheamus may be a heel when he returns.

- It again appears that Rey Mysterio is done with the WWE. Sources have said that WWE originally came up with a storyline for Rey that would've started at Survivor Series and ended at Wrestlemania 31, but the idea was scrapped. Sources are saying that Rey is waiting for his release now so he can move on.

- WWE Hall of Famer and current commentator, Jerry "The King" Lawler was hospitalized this week. Lawler has been diagnosed with
diverticulitis and is expected to be released within the next several days.

- WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels, is ready to release a new book of his own. "Wrestling For My Life: The Legend, the Reality, and the Faith of a WWE Superstar" is scheduled to hit stores on February 10th. The book will be his second autobiography.

- NXT Diva, Sasha Banks, made her main roster debut this week on Main Event.

- NXT's Tyler Breeze had a dark match at a live WWE show this week.

- NXT will begin airing their shows on Wednesday nights starting January 14th. Obviously so it doesn't interfere with Smackdown which will make the Thursday night jump.

- I've noted a few times in the past that the WWE was possibly interested in signing Independent wrestler, Uhaa Nation. Sources are saying that both parties have agreed to a deal.

- Sources are saying that after the past issues with the way Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk have left the WWE, WWE is changing their performer contracts. The contracts now state that if a WWE Superstar is fired for disciplinary reasons, then they will forfeit all merchandise rights and can't work in pro wrestling or MMA for one year.

*** TNA News and Rumors ***

- TNA officially announced that Kurt Angle has re-signed with TNA...even though ex-WWE and TNA writer, Vince Russo, already announced it when Angle was on his podcast a few weeks back. Better late than never I guess.

- Ethan Carter III has signed a new contract with TNA, so we can expect him also into the new year.

- You can also add Mrrrrrrrrr. Anderrrrrrsssooonnnnn.......
Anderson, Abyss, Jessie Godderz and Madison Rayne to the new contracts signed list.

- Rob Terry has officially left TNA. Terry has been moved to the TNA alumni section on TNA.com. Also added to the alumni list were Bully Ray, Devon, Shark Boy, Rampage Jackson and Brittany.

- It was announced that the 2015 TNA Lockdown event will not be a pay per view this year. The event will be a made for TV pay per view that will be shown on Destination America. So far every match on the card is said to be "Steel Cage Matches".

- TNA has also stated that they may be out of showing pay per views on pay per view channels in 2015. In the past Lockdown and Bound For Glory were TNA's only pay per views left that you could purchase on pay per view. TNA has stated that all their pay per views will be shown on Destination America now for free.

- Sources were saying that TNA were thinking of going back to a traditional ring when they debuted on Destination America. But now with their Lockdown free pay per view coming up in January being advertised as "Six Sides Of Steel Cage Matches", that plan may have been scrapped.

- Former TNA Knockouts Champion, ODB, was interviewed this week. ODB was asked if she would consider coming back to TNA in the future. ODB stated that she's not wrestling anymore and is happy where she is with her life currently.

*** GFW News and Rumors ***

- Tonight is the big Wrestle Kingdom 9 pay per view, debuting Global Force Wrestling. I'll bring you the recap to the show Monday afternoon.

- Jeff Jarrett is currently in talks with Mexico's AAA promotion. Jarrett would like to hold the next GFW pay per view with AAA Mexico just like he's doing with Japan's NJPW in GFW's debut pay per view.

*** Other Wrestling News ***

- Some Lucha Underground news this week. According to Independent tag team, The Young Bucks, Lucha Underground offered the tag team a contract. The Young Bucks however were insulted on what they offered for a seven year deal, claiming it to be a lowball deal.

- Lucha Underground has also shown a huge interest in signing Jim Ross to do commentary for their second season of shows which will be tapped soon.

- Lucha Underground wrestler, Chavo Guerrero, recently stated that he has the inside scoop to Rey Mysterio. Mysterio, who may be leaving WWE soon, which I stated in WWE news above, may be heading to Lucha Underground. Chavo is expecting to start a feud with Rey as soon as Rey arrives in the company.

And that's this weekend's 3 Count. Join me every Sunday as I post news around WWE, TNA, GFW and around the wrestling world. Till next week, tap or snap.
