Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 3.8.16: #RAW Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is back with the RAW Recap Edition. 

This week's RAW was live in Chicago, Illinois. RAW was the go home show to this Saturday nights WWE Roadblock pay per view. Shane McMahon returned tonight to continue his crusade in taking over RAW. WWE Intercontinental Champion, Kevin Owens, took on Neville in a non-title match. Brie Bella battled Summer Rae in Divas action. Dolph Ziggler faced the League of Nations in a 3-on-1 Handicap Elimination Match. Team BAD took on Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch in tag team Divas action. The New Day defended the WWE World Tag Team Championship against Chris Jericho and AJ Styles. WWE United States Champion, Kalisto, battled Tyler Breeze one on one, in a non-title match. Ryback battled Curtis Axel of the Social Outcasts. Main event time saw Dean Ambrose battle Bray Wyatt.

*** RAW ***

- Shane McMahon Promo: RAW kicks off with Shane McMahon in the ring. Shane says he respects The Undertaker, Vince McMahon is a miserable old bastard, Vince has lost his touch with the family and the WWE and its Shane's destiny to run RAW. Shane promises that when he wins there will be no more Vince, no more Authority, the top superstars will be brought down a notch and the superstars that are never given a chance will finally get theirs. The Undertaker's gong hits and out go the lights.
It's a trick, however, as Vince's music hits and out comes the chairman. Vince gets hit with the usual "CM Punk" chants from Chicago as he confronts Shane. Vince says Shane is out of his will, claims to be invincible, Shane will fail at Wrestlemania and Vince will comfort Shane's kids after they see what a loser their dad is. Vince orders security to kick Shane out. Security arrives, but Shane says he's leaving on his own terms, starts swinging at security and takes each one out before leaving.

- Kevin Owens vs. Neville: The match closes out with, Neville hitting a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Owens misses an attempted top rope moonsault and Neville follows with a super kick. Neville hits a splash off the ropes on Owens for another near fall. Neville signals for the Red Arrow, but gets rolled up from behind by Owens for the pinfall. After the match, Owens snaps and beats Neville down. Owens sets Neville up for a powerbomb, but NXT's Sami Zayn hits the ring and makes the save for Neville.
Winner: Kevin Owens, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Stephanie McMahon thanks Dolph Ziggler for taking down an anti tweet towards The Authority earlier today. Ziggler mentions being the reason The Authority was forced out at Survivor Series two years ago. Stephanie retaliates by putting Ziggler in a match against three members of the League of Nations.

- Brie Bella vs. Summer Rae: The match closes out with, Brie unloading Yes Kicks on Summer. Brie hits the running knee on Summer, as Lana comes to the ring. Lana distracts Brie allowing Summer to roll Brie up for the pinfall. After the match, Lana gets in the ring and lays Brie out with an X-Factor.
Winner: Summer Rae, by pinfall.

- Dean Ambrose Promo: Ambrose says at WWE Roadblock he's hijacking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and main eventing Wrestlemania. Ambrose says after he beats Triple H, he will have no choice but to respect Ambrose. Triple H interrupts Ambrose and says Ambrose is living in a fantasy, maybe Ambrose needs to be tossed over the announcers table and beaten to a pulp again. Ambrose says he'll stand on the announcers table after winning the title and Triple H can "suck it". Ambrose dares Triple H to come fight, but Triple H says he fights on his own time. Ambrose can fight Bray Wyatt tonight instead.

- "Handicap Elimination Match": Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus, Rusev and King Barrett: Ziggler lands a kick on Sheamus and hits a jumping DDT. Barrett comes in, but gets sent into the turnbuckle by Ziggler. Ziggler hits the super kick on Barrett, scores the pinfall and eliminates Barrett. Sheamus counters a Ziggler Famasser, allowing Rusev to nail Ziggler with a thrust kick. Sheamus nails the Brogue Kick on Ziggler and scores the pinfall.
Winners: Rusev and Sheamus, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks argue over who should be facing Charlotte at WrestleMania.

- Naomi and Tamina vs. Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks: The match closes out with, Sasha getting the hot tag. Sasha hits Naomi with the standing double knees. Naomi comes back and goes for a bulldog, but Sasha counters out and locks in the Bank Statement, forcing Naomi to tap out. After the match, Charlotte comes out of nowhere and lays out both Sasha and Becky.
Winners: Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, by submission.

- "WWE World Tag Team Championship Match": The New Day (c) vs. Chris Jericho and AJ Styles: The match closes out with, Big E arguing with the referee and Big E catches a Styles Pele Kick. Jericho hits a Lionsault and Styles follows with a 450 springboard. Big E breaks up the pinfall and Kofi goes for Trouble In Paradise. Jericho counters Trouble In Paradise and locks Kofi in the Walls of Jericho submission. Big E breaks it up and Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho on Big E. Big E fights out, so Jericho tries a Code Breaker.
Big E catches Jericho in mid air and hits the Big Ending to score the pinfall. After the match, Styles helps Jericho up, but Jericho TURNS HEEL! Jericho lays Styles out with three Code Breakers and then stuffs a Y2AJ shirt into Styles' mouth.
Winners: The New Day, by pinfall, to retain the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

- Backstage, an irate Chris Jericho says he did what he did because all the fans kept chanting for AJ Styles. Jericho made sure he shut the fans up.

- Kalisto vs. Tyler Breeze: The match closes out with, Breeze getting a near fall super kick on Kalisto. Kalisto comes back with a roll through kick and a corkscrew springboard splash on Breeze. Kalisto hits Salida Del Sol on Breeze and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Kalisto, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Kalisto says he's always wanted to fight at Wrestlemania. Ryback interrupts, praises Kalisto, but says he deserves a Wrestlemania match.

- Ryback vs. Curtis Axel: The match closes out with, Ryback making quick work of Axel. Ryback ground and pounds Axel until finally hitting Shell Shock for the pinfall.
Winner: Ryback, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Stephanie McMahon asks Vince McMahon what happens if Shane McMahon beats The Undertaker. Vince says he's got this, but Stephanie is still worried he doesn't.

- Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt: The match closes out with, Bray escaping to the floor and Ambrose suicide diving after. Bray catches Ambrose and goes for Sister Abigail on the floor. Ambrose counters, but Bray counters back with a uranage into the barricade. Back in the ring, Ambrose catches Bray with a rebound clothesline when suddenly the lights go out. The lights pop back on and the rest of the Wyatt Family is present. The Wyatt Family 4-on-1 beats down Ambrose, setting Ambrose up for a Bray Sister Abigail, laying Ambrose out. Triple H hits the ring next and stalks Ambrose. Bray goes nose to nose with Triple H, touches the WWE World Heavyweight Championship then leaves the ring. Triple H clears off the announcers table and goes back after Ambrose. Ambrose pops up unexpectedly and hits Dirty Deeds on Triple H, laying out the COO to end the show.
Winner: Dean Ambrose, by DQ.
