Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 2.28.15: #TNA Impact Recap

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's this week's TNA Impact recap edition. Last week, MVP won the 20 Man Gauntlet and earned himself a TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match against Bobby Lashley, tonight. Rockstar Spud, Mark Andrews and Mr. Anderson shaved Tyrus' head. Newcomer, Grado, defeated his teacher, Al Snow. Drew Galloway made his TNA debut, taking out the Beat Down Clan with a lead pipe. Former rivals, Awesome Kong and Gail Kim went face to face. What will tonight's Impact have in store for us? Let's get to last night's recap as TNA visits Glasgow, Scotland.

- In Ring Segment with Kurt Angle: Angle is upset that he lost the 20 Man Gauntlet last week and than calls out Bobby Lashley. Lashley comes to the ring and goes face to face with Angle. Angle is confused as to why Lashley didn't help out last week, when the BDC attacked. Lashley said that was Angle's fight, not his and tonight his match with MVP is his fight and doesn't want Angle's help. Angle promises he won't help and hopes Lashley leaves still the TNA World Champion, tonight. Angle leaves the ring and out comes MVP and his Beat Down Clan. Samoa Joe says  MVP will make Lashley a former champion tonight. MVP says Lashley will get his ass laid out and the whole BDC will become the TNA World Champions, tonight.

- Ethan Carter III and Tyrus vs. Rockstar Spud and Mr. Anderson: Tyrus and Anderson trade punches. ECIII and Tyrus double team Anderson and knock Spud off the apron. Spud tags in and hits a shining wizard and the underdog on Tyrus. ECIII tries to get in the ring, but the referee orders him back. During the distraction, Anderson low blows Tyrus. Anderson hits the "Mic Check" on Tyrus and Spud covers and scores the pinfall.

- In Ring Segment with Taryn Terrell: Terrell says being TNA Knockouts Champion has been a dream and if Awesome Kong wants a shot, than come get it. Gail Kim comes out and goes face to face with Terrell. Kim says Terrell doesn't know what she's getting into, challenging the toughest woman in wrestling. Terrell says she's a fighter and she wants this. Kim understands and leaves the ring. Terrell celebrates in the ring, when the arena goes dark. The lights are back on and Awesome Kong is in the ring. Terrell lands some forearms and a drop kick on Kong. Kong takes out Terrell with a clothesline and then plants Terrell with the "Implant Buster". Kong holds up the TNA Knockouts Title as Terrell is left laid out.

- Backstage, Austin Aries, hints at a possible feast or fired briefcase cash in tonight on Lashley or MVP.

- Angelina Love and Robbie E vs. Brooke Tessmacher and Chris Melendez: Melendez hits a snap suplex on Robbie for a two count.  Love hits Brooke with punches and a fallaway slam for a near fall. Robbie is in and Brooke chases him around the ring. Love is back in and hits a neck breaker on Brooke for a near fall. Brooke is back on offense and hits a forearm and a flapjack on Love. Brooke goes to the top rope as Robbie tags himself in. Melendez tries to stop Robbie, but Robbie shoves Brooke off the top rope and scores the pinfall.

- Backstage, Ethan Carter III, busts into Rockstar Spud's dressing room with the electric razor turned on. Mr. Anderson makes the save but gets beat down by ECIII. Spud gets a small piece of ECIII's head shaved as Tyrus saves ECIII and pulls him out of the room to safety.

- Backstage, Gunner meets with Kurt Angle. Angle is packing and says he doesn't need this crap. Gunner talks up Angle as his hero and Angle was the reason he got into wrestling. Gunner slaps Angle in the face for motivation like Angle did to Gunner a few weeks back.

- In Ring Segment with Austin Aries: Aries brags about having the feast or fired briefcase and again hints at cashing in tonight. Samoa Joe interrupts and says he can stop Aries from ever cashing in. Aries wants to know where the old Joe is, the one that feared no man and served no man. Instead he sees a Joe that rubs MVP's feet. Joe says he's going to snap Aries' neck and heads to the ring. Aries decides to meet Joe halfway, hits a suicide dive on Joe and we have an impromptu match.

- Austin Aries vs. Samoa Joe: Aries is in control and hits a charging elbow. Joe blocks the brain buster and sends Aries to the floor with a boot. Joe stomps on Aries in the corner, hits an atomic drop, a boot and a senton for a near fall. Aries sends Joe to the floor and hits another suicide dive. Aries hits a missile drop kick and the IED. Joe blocks a suplex and applies a full nelson. Joe goes for the "Muscle Buster" but Aries counters into the "Last Chancery" submission. Kenny King grabs Aries' briefcase but Aries throws Joe into the briefcase. Aries hits a crucifix bomb and than hits a 450 splash from the top rope on Joe to score the pinfall.

- After The Match: Kenny King and Low Ki join Samoa Joe and beat down Aries. The BDC place Aries on a table and Joe senton splashes Aries right through the table.

- Backstage, Bobby Lashley is going to prove that MVP didn't make him.

- Backstage, MVP congratulates Eric Young on his win over Tommy Dreamer last week. MVP says his match with Lashley is a No DQ match and "Anyone" can get involved. MVP also reminds EY of how Lashley took the title from him over the summer.

- Rampage Brown vs Naom Dar: Bram comes to the ring as soon as the match starts and beats down Brown and Dar. Bram hits "Impaler" DDT's on both men. Bram calls out Magnus and dares him to step in the ring. Grado comes out to the ring instead and talks trash to Bram. Bram swings at Grado, but Grado ducks and lands punches of his own. Bram finally lands a punch on Grado and lays him out with an "Impaler" DDT.

- "TNA World Heavyweight Championship, No DQ Match": Bobby Lashley (c) vs. MVP: MVP and Lashley trade punches. Lashley takes down MVP, who rolls to the floor and Lashley follows. The BDC try to help MVP on the outside, but the referee ejects Low Ki from ringside. The referee gets distracted again, allowing Samoa Joe to choke Lashley. Lashley fights back but gets tossed to the floor. Kenny King lands a series of stomps on Lashley and MVP gets a near fall. Lashley hits a couple clotheslines and a spine buster for a near fall. Lashley goes for the spear but Kenny King grabs Lashley's leg. MVP hits a suplex than goes for the "Drive By". Lashley counters and spears MVP, taking out the referee too.
Eric Young hits the ring and beats down Lashley with a steel chair. EY goes for the piledriver but Bobby Roode hits the ring. EY and Roode brawl up the ramp as Lashley hits a neck breaker on MVP. Lashley power slams MVP but King pulls the referee out of the ring before he can count. Samoa Joe attacks Lashley until Gunner hits the ring and chases off Joe. MVP hits the "Playmaker" on Lashley than goes to use the steel chair. Drew Galloway hits the ring and stops MVP and sets Lashley up to hit the spear on MVP. Lashley covers and scores the pinfall. Bobby Lashley retains the TNA World Title as Impact closes out.

And that wraps up this weeks TNA Impact, till next time, tap or snap.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 2.27.15: #SmackDown Recap

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. Today's edition is your Smackdown recap from last night's show. Smackdown was in Atlanta, Georgia this week. The road to Wrestlemania continues with the first Smackdown show after this past Sunday's WWE Fast Lane. What feuds would we see setting up on the road to Wrestlemania? Let's get to the recap.

- In Ring Segment with Daniel Bryan: Bryan talks about missed opportunities, the fans standing behind him, the "Yes Movement" being stronger than ever and has huge plans for this year. Bad News Barrett cuts off Bryan and calls him a loser, just like Dean Ambrose, who is a thief. Ambrose comes out and immediately attacks Barrett. Bryan picks up the WWE Intercontinental Championship and holds it as Ambrose and Barrett brawl. Barrett demands Bryan to hand it to him. Bryan looks as if he is, when suddenly Ambrose starts landing punches on Barrett. Ambrose grabs Barrett's I-C Title and leaves with it again.

- Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz: Miz goes for a knee on Ambrose, but Ambrose floats over and rolls Miz up for a near fall. Miz lands a neck breaker on Ambrose and gets a near fall. Miz mat wrestles until Ambrose fires back with punches, a splash and a bulldog. Bad News Barrett comes out to the ring and grabs his stolen I-C Title. Ambrose stops Barrett and knocks Barrett to the floor. Miz goes for the "Skull Crushing Finale" but Ambrose counters and hits "Dirty Deeds". Ambrose scores the pinfall as Barrett runs off, back in possession of his I-C Title.

- Backstage, Bad News Barrett says Ambrose and Daniel Bryan aren't worthy of his I-C Title and he will not let it out of his sight now.

- Nattie Neidhart (w/Tyson Kidd and Cesaro) vs Naomi (w/The Usos): Naomi with an early near fall. Mat wrestling by the divas as Nattie applies a leg lock. Naomi hits a splash on Nattie, slowing Nattie down. Nattie catches a knee in the face and Kidd checks on her. Jimmy Uso won't allow it, as he lands a kick on Kidd. Cesaro and Jey Uso step in now and Cesaro catches a kick in the face by Jey. Nattie appears to have injured her leg as the referee checks on her. Naomi makes the mistake of letting Nattie rest, as Nattie gets up and nails a clothesline on Naomi. Nattie covers and scores the pinfall.

- In Ring Segment with Rusev and Lana: Lana says an American champion stands tall with pride and doesn't agree to anyone's terms, and John Cena has no right asking for a rematch, because he lost. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent the couple a email, which they read. Rusev says he'll fight anyone but Cena because he's already crushed Cena. Jack Swagger cuts off the Russian couple. Swagger says Rusev must be scared to fight Cena again and Rusev is surrounded by real American's (WWE Fans). Swagger starts a "We The People" chant and attacks Rusev. Swagger hits a couple punches and a clothesline on Rusev. Rusev slows down Swagger with a kick. Rusev unloads with a couple more kicks, a thrust kick and then locks Swagger in "The Accolade". Rusev applies the pressure and refuses to let up until Swagger passes out.

- Daniel Bryan vs. Bad News Barrett: Bryan mat wrestles then works on Barrett's knees. Barrett hits the "Winds Of Change" on Bryan then tosses Bryan to the floor. Barrett mat wrestles Bryan next until Bryan returns fire. Bryan lands knees and stiff kicks for a near fall. Barrett gets paranoid and looks around for his I-C Title. Bryan sends Barrett to the floor and hits the suicide dive. Barrett crotches Bryan on the ropes. Barrett goes for "Wasteland" but Bryan counters into the "Yes Lock" submission. R-Truth sneaks in, grabs Barrett's I-C Title and runs off with it. Barrett goes for the "Bullhammer" but Bryan counters and hits the running knee. Bryan covers and scores the pinfall.

- After the match: Barrett is pissed as his I-C Title is gone again. We see Truth, backstage, running into Dean Ambrose. Truth tells Ambrose he just won the title. Ambrose asks for it and Truth gives it to Ambrose.

- In Ring Promo: Curtis Axel debuts the #Axelmania clock and says it has now been over 32 days and Axel still has not been eliminated from the Royal Rumble.

- Fandango (w/Rosa Mendes) vs. Curtis Axel: Axel attacks Fandango as the bell sounds and lands stomps on Fandango. Axel tosses Fandango over the top rope, points at the Wrestlemania sign and continues to claim to have not been eliminated from the Royal Rumble. Fandango is back in, attacks Axel and goes on offense. Fandango hits a sit down slam then climbs the ropes. Fandango hits the top rope leg drop on Axel, covers and scores the pinfall.

- Backstage, Damien Sandow is filming a commercial when The Miz interrupts. Miz says Sandow is terrible and mocks Sandow. The director offers Miz a spot in the commercial and Miz accepts before finding out what it's for.

- Adam Rose vs. Goldust: Rose goes on offense and traps Goldust in the corner. Rose lands corner punches. Goldust returns the favor with a few chops and then hits a power slam on Rose for a near fall. Goldust whips Rose into the corner but Rose counters and climbs to the top rope. Goldust dodges a Rose flying knee and hits the "Director's Cut" on Rose. Goldust covers and scores the pinfall. Goldust celebrates after the match, until one of Rose's Rosebuds attack him. The Rosebud reveals himself to be Stardust. Stardust unloads punches on his brother, Goldust. Stardust leaves Goldust laid out after hitting "Dark Matter" before leaving.

- "Six Man Tag Match": Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan vs. Seth Rollins, Big Show and Kane: Rowan hits a rolling elbow on Kane for a near fall. Ziggler is in and hits Kane with some punches, a drop toe hold, a drop kick and a headlock. Rollins is in and Ziggler goes for the "Famasser" but Rollins dodges it and knocks down Ziggler. Show, Kane and Rollins take control and work over Ziggler with a camel clutch, a headlock, a boot and some punches. Rollins gets a near fall on Ziggler. Show is in and lands a splash on Ziggler for a near fall. Ziggler hits the "Famasser" and finally tags in Rowan. Kane uppercuts Rowan but Ziggler takes out Kane with a slam.
Ryback is in and takes out Rollins with shoulder blocks. Ryback unloads on Rollins, lands a belly to belly, press slams Rollins, then hits a "Meat Hook" clothesline. Ryback fights off Mercury and Noble, who try to interfere. Ryback goes for "Shell Shock" but Show stops it. Rowan and Show brawl on the floor. Ziggler hits "Zig Zag" on Kane. Rollins goes for the "Curb Stomp" but Ziggler counters with a super kick. Ryback plants Rollins with the "Shell Shock", covers and scores the pinfall. Smackdown closes out with Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback celebrating.

And that's this week's Smackdown. Have a great weekend, till next time, tap or snap.

- A judge had overturned the NFL's ruling and reinstated Adrian Peterson Thursday afternoon. Within a hour of the ruling, the NFL has appealed the court decision and will keep open the option to go through the CBA appeal process too.  In the meantime, Peterson has returned to exempt list. Peterson could be traded to another team as soon as March 10.

- The Dallas Cowboys are expected to franchise wide receiver Dez Bryant if a long term deal can't be reached. But a alleged video tape has emerged between Bryant and his girlfriend in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Dallas police have said they have no video of what took place in the parking lot. But I have found out that ESPN has footage and is ready to roll with the package as soon as new infotainment is available. I do find it strange that a Cowboys owned media group was the first source to report this. But here is the police report. You be the judge.

- Yesterday morning it seemed as if the Buffalo Bills were negotiating a contract for free agent quarterback Josh McCown . As of late last night, league sources indicated that the Browns are still in the fold to sign him. McCown is expected to make a decision sometime Friday.

- Buster Skrine is expected to command anywhere from about $5 to $7 million dollars a year in free agency. The Browns are interested in resigning the cornerback. Skrine will wait until March 10th when free agency starts to determine what his actual market value is . As a restricted free agent the Browns can match any offer made to him by any other team.

- The Falcons have released RB Steven Jackson, the move will save the Falcons 3.7m against the salary cap this season. Since the emergence of quarterback Matt Ryan, Jackson wasn't relied upon as the number one back as he was in St.Louis. Jackson should be able to make it to someone's training camp. But the question is, does he have what it takes to return to the fantasy football dominance he once had?

- The Columbus Blue Jackets traded forward Nathan Horton to Toronto for forward David Clarkson. Clarkson, 30, signed a 7-year, $36.75 million contract with Toronto in 2013, but hasn't become the impact player that they expected. Horton, 29, has been on the Jackets non-roster injury list for most of the season with a threatening back injury.

- The Florida Panthers acquired Jaromir Jagr from the New Jersey Devils for two draft picks, one in 2015 and one in 2016. Jagr has 11 goals and 18 assists in 57 games for New Jersey this season. Jagr is sixth in NHL history with 716 gores, seventh with 1,068 assists and fifth with 1,784 points in 1,530 career regular season games. Over his 22 years in the NHL, he has played for Pittsburgh, Washington, New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Dallas, Boston and New Jersey.

- The winner of the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight on May 2 will be given a new belt. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman says he would like it "to have emeralds or platinum." If boxers are allowed to keep the belt, I would just retire after the fight.

- Finally and sadly, NBA pioneer and first African-American to play in the NBA Earl Lloyd died Thursday at the age of 86. Lloyd came into the league in 1950 for the Washington Capitals, debuting before Sweetwater Clifton and Chuck Cooper. Along with helping the Syracuse Nationals win the 1955 NBA title, Lloyd averaged 8.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in 560 games played, over nine season with Washington, Syracuse and Detroit. He served in the U.S. Army during the 1951-52 season, and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003 as a contributor. Thank you Earl Lloyd for EVERYTHING you have done.

By @cleeverizon

- Josh McCown visited the Browns Tuesday & Wednesday. But before we get to excited about signing McCown, he also visited with Bills last week and met Bears & Jets at combine. However Josh McCown will make his decision on a team possibly in a few days. The Browns are in the running. And he wants  to talk things over with family. It sounds as if the Browns have offered him a contract.

He would be a good transition quarterback for the Browns as they prepare their future signal caller whomever that maybe. Even though I would rather have Sam Bradford who the Rams maybe be willing to part with for a 3rd round pick or future conditional 1st or 2nd round pick depending on Bradford's play and health. But the Browns will need to find out the punishment that he NFL will issue for "TextGate" before they can even dip their feet into those waters.

- Looks like the quarterback situation is going to get interesting, per Pro Football Talk the Browns Ray Farmer & Brian Hoyer are set to meet. It's a safe assumption they will be talking about the "TextGate" situation and both sides will determine where to go from there.

- The Browns are also rumored to be interested in Buccaneers free agent DE Adrian Clayborn. He's had 13 sacks in 4 years in the NFL but was hurt in 2012 and 2014. His rookie year in 2011 he has 7.5 sacks and started all 16 games. Most recently in 2013 he has 5.5 sacks and 16 games started. He suffered a torn bicep cost him his 2014 season. Despite his two season ending injuries Clayborn has produced on the field. Cleveland needs help on the defensive line and would be ready to play right away rather than sit like a rookie would.

- NFL sources have indicated that free agent wide receiver Cecil Shorts and the Browns have mutual interest with each other. Shorts would provide a big target as he is 6'0, 200lbs and would allow Andrew Hawkins and/or Miles Austin to play their natural slot position.

- Sources close to Browns tight end Jordan Cameron have said he is not interested in resigning with the team and will test the free agent market.

- The Packers released LB AJ Hawk, their 2006 first-round pick. It saves them $3.5M this year, which comes off their cap.  He ranks No. 1 in franchise history with 1,118 tackles.

- The Detroit Lions have parted ways with RB Reggie Bush.

- Bulls announce Derrick Rose will undergo surgery after an MRI revealed medial meniscus tear in right knee and will be out indefinitely. The Bulls have paid Derrick Rose $944,608 for each game he has played in over the last 3 seasons (56 games).

- LeBron James set the all-time NBA record for assists by a forward, with 6,136 passing Scottie Pippen (6,135).

- Kendrick Perkins officially signed with the Cavs Tuesday, his Cleveland salary will be $443.068 for the remainder of the season with a salary-cap number of $279,975.

- Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane is expected to miss 12 weeks after undergoing surgery of his left clavicle. The Florida Panthers' Alex Petrovic cross checked Kane in the lower back which led Kane to be slammed into the boards, causing the fracture. The regular season ends April 11, with the playoffs starting a week later. Kane would be expected to miss the start of the playoffs with hope that he could return in the Western Conference finals, should Chicago reach that far.

- Los Angeles Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton could be facing some discipline from Major League Baseball after revealing that he's had a drug related relapse which may have included but not limited to cocaine use. Hamiltion is currently undergoing rehab after his shoulder surgery earlier this month and is expected out until at least May. That could change now, obviously. Hamilton signed a 5-year, $125 million deal with the Angels before the 2013 season.

- Former St. Louis Ram Michael Sam and Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin have joined the cast of the new season of Dancing With The Stars.

- The city of Inglewood, CA has approved the "Hollywood Park" stadium plan project to build a Los Angeles based NFL stadium for the St. Louis Rams. The unanimously approved project would build a $1.86 billion, 80,000 seat stadium adjacent to the multi-use redevelopment at the old Hollywood Park racetrack. Workers could potentially start building by the end of 2015.
