Smackdown Live was live this week in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This week's show revealed the after effects of this past Sunday's WWE Hell In A Cell pay per view.
** Smackdown Live Card **
- Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable, The Ascension, Breezango and The Hype Bros. all battled to determine new #1 Contenders in a Fatal Four Way Match.
- Becky Lynch battled Ms. Money In The Bank Carmella.
- Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton battled Rusev and Aiden English.
- WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin defended his title against AJ Styles.
- Promos By: WWE Smackdown Live World Tag Team Champions The Usos, Kevin Owens and Bobby Roode.
** Smackdown Live **
- The Usos Promo: The new WWE Smackdown Live World Tag Team Champions kick off the show. The Usos say that they told everyone that they had the tag team division on lock and you come out of the Cell a changed man, so they want The New Day to come out and listen to them. The New Day arrive and head to the ring. The Usos say that both teams went to war and all the other teams suck. The Usos give props, show respect and state that they are both running the tag team division. The Hype Bros. suddenly interrupt. Mojo states that the same two teams are getting all the credit every week and he's sick of it. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable interrupt next. Gable tells The Hype Bros to get to the back of the line. The Usos mock both teams and tell both to get to the back of the line. Both Breezango and The Ascension interrupt next. The Usos mock both of them, but New Day stick up for Breezango as being cool. The Usos dare everyone to come at them as Smackdown Live GM Daniel Bryan interrupts and dismisses The Usos and The New Day. Bryan announces a Benjamin and Gable /Breezango/Hype Bros./The Ascension Fatal Four Way Match to determine new #1 Contenders. - "Fatal Four Way Match": Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable vs. Breezango vs. The Hype Bros. vs. The Ascension: The match closes out with Breeze countering the Broski Boot. Benjamin tags in and hits a spinebuster on Breeze and then to Konnor. Fandango saves Breeze from a Gable/Benjamin double team. Fandango goes for and misses the Last Dance on Benjamin. Gable hits a moonsault on Fandango and then finishes off Breeze to score the pinfall.Winners: Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable, by pinfall, to become new #1 Contenders.
- Backstage, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are hiding out in their locker room refusing interviews at the moment.
- Backstage, Lana and Tamina confront Nattie Neidhart. Lana says the title will look ravishing on Tamina. Nattie mocks them both as Carmella interrupts. Nattie agrees that they all deserve to be champion, but not Charlotte. Charlotte suddenly appears and is asked why she's sad by Nattie. Nattie mocks Ric Flair, forcing Charlotte to attack Nattie until it's broken up by WWE Officials.
- Backstage, Baron Corbin is interviewed. Corbin mocks the fans and Tye Dillinger. Corbin then states that the house that AJ Styles built will become the opportunity that AJ Styles squandered tonight.
- Carmella vs. Becky Lynch: The match closes out with Becky sending Carmella into the corner. Becky charges, but gets a cheap shot from Carmella. Carmella goes for more offense, but Becky traps Carmella in the Dis Arm Her submission for the tap out win.Winner: Becky Lynch, by submission. - Kevin Owens Promo: Owens says he sent Shane McMahon straight to hell like he said he would. Owens says we should be lucky because we almost lost Owens too, but St. Peter turned him away at the Pearly Gates and sent him back to earth. Owens calls Sami Zayn his guardian angel and now knows that he must make Smackdown Live a personal paradise. Owens calls out Sami Zayn. Owens tells Zayn thank you from the bottom of his heart. Zayn says that he's finally opened his eyes, he needs to stop listening to the fans. Shane promised him the land of opportunity on Smackdown Live but has failed to use him. Zayn says that when he tried to warn Shane about what Owens was capable and he told Zayn to mind his own business, that was the final straw. Zayn says Owens will always be his brother and when Shane climbed to the top of the cell, he knew Shane only cared about himself. Zayn thanks Owens because Owens was right the whole time. Zayn and Owens share a bro hug and raise each other's arms to end the segment. - Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev and Aiden English: The match closes out with Nakamura unloading kicks on English. Nakamura hits a running knee in the corner, sits English on the ropes and hits another knee. Nakamura goes for the Kinshasa, but Rusev grabs Nakamura. Nakamura hits Rusev and Orton hits Rusev with the RKO. Nakamura hits the Kinshasa on English and scores the pinfall.
Winners: Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton, by pinfall.
- Backstage, AJ Styles is interviewed and Styles says he was the only Phenomenal one at the Hell In A Cell pay per view. Styles is confident that he's winning the title back from Baron Corbin tonight and it'll be End of Days for him.
- Bobby Roode Promo: Roode says his pay per view win was glorious until Dolph Ziggler jumped him after the match. Ziggler interrupts and mocks Roode. Ziggler says he exposed Roode for what he is, a fraud. Ziggler says he proved he's the better man and better wrestler. Ziggler says that Roode realized that, panicked and had to cheat to win. Roode informs Ziggler that all he did was prove that he was smarter than Ziggler. Ziggler wants a rematch, anytime, anyplace. Roode says he's sick of Ziggler talking, take the rematch now. Ziggler refuses and says he'll decide when he wants his rematch because it won't be tonight. Ziggler walks off to end the segment. - "WWE United States Championship Match"; Baron Corbin (c) vs. AJ Styles: The match closes out with Styles applying the Calf Crusher submission. Corbin escapes with a shot and then unloads elbows. Styles counters End of Days and nails the Pele Kick. Corbin rolls outside and Styles leaps out at him. Corbin catches Styles and tosses him on the floor. Corbin tosses Styles back into the ring, hits End of Days and scores the pinfall.Winner: Baron Corbin, by pinfall, to retain the WWE United States Championship.
- After the match, Baron Corbin is interviewed. Corbin says the title is his, the fans can cry all they want and he will buy a boat to sail down their river of tears. Corbin poses with the title to end the show.
