*** Weekend Flashback ***
Sting vs. Bruiser Mastino (Kane) WCW 1993:
*** WWE News and Rumors ***
- WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar, is now being advertised for the February 9th, 2015 RAW in Columbus, Ohio.
- A rumor started last month about UFC possibly being interested in signing Brock Lesnar after his WWE contract expires the day after Wrestlemania 31. There hasn't been anymore news on this and no word from Lesnar whether he'd stay with the WWE or go back to UFC.
- Roman Reigns is being advertised in a feud with Rusev for upcoming December shows.
- Fandango recently stated that he should be returning soon with a little bit of a different character then what we've been used to seeing.
- WWE officially moved The Great Khali from the main roster to the alumni page on WWE.com this week. There has been word that Khali's contract expired and WWE chose not to resign him.
- Rumors have begun circulating that The Great Khali could be the first of many more releases coming.
- Beth Phoenix stated recently that she would be open for a WWE return. Phoenix, who is married to Adam "Edge" Copeland, is currently a stay at home mom with the couple's child.
- Rey Mysterio may be staying with WWE after all. Rumor is WWE would like to use Rey up till Wrestlemania 31. Rey's WWE contract expires in April.
- November 13th marked the 9th anniversary of the passing of Eddie Guerrero. Here's a tribute to Eddie as he captured his only WWE World Heavyweight Championship. R.I.P. Eddie.
- More CM Punk news for you fans that still think he'll be back one day. CM Punk officially signed on with Marvel Comics. Punk will be helping create a new Thor comic book in the Marvel Universe.
- Grumpy Cat......yes you read that right, Grumpy Cat, the internet cat sensation, will be a very special guest on Monday Night RAW tomorrow. I need to take a moment to calm my excitement......or is that anger I feel? All I can think of is more wasted TV time for deserving talent.
- Ex-UK soccer goalkeeper, Stuart Tomlinson, made his NXT debut this past week. Tomlinson is using the ring name Hugo Knox for his wrestling name. Knox's debut was a very good one WWE officials stated.
- If you were a fan of The Fabulous Freebirds in the 80's then take a moment to check out this comedy documentary about the famous faction called "Back On Badstreet"
- And just for laughs while we're talking about the Fabulous Freebirds, here's Michael P.S. Hayes' famous 80's song "Badstreet USA".
*** TNA News and Rumors ***
- If you missed Impact this past Wednesday, then go back and read my Impact results. If you want the quick version then TNA crowned new tag team champions in the team of James Storm and Abyss. And due to a shoulder injury, Samoa Joe had to vacate the TNA X Division Title.
- Dixie Carter has stated on Twitter that a new TNA Impact TV deal will be announced soon.
- Rumor is that Spike TV executives have stated that they are getting out of the wrestling business. Which again could spell the end of TNA on Spike TV if true.
- Impact will be pre-empted the night before Thanksgiving, November 26th.
- It was reported this week that Ethan Carter III suffered a torn biceps and will require surgery to repair.
*** GFW News and Rumors ***
- Jim Ross has officially signed on the dotted line to do commentary for Jeff Jarrett's first GFW pay per view, entitled Wrestle Kingdom 9 on January 4th 2015.
- GFW owner, Jeff Jarrett, is currently trying to work out a deal to allow Ring of Honor wrestlers to compete on GFW's January 4th pay per view.
- Here is the official trailer for GFW's Wrestle Kingdom 9.
*** And on an end note, are you looking for some new wrestling to watch? Then check out the new wrestling promotion called Lucha Underground. I watched episode one, enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Lucha Underground has a gritty look to the show compared to the WWE and TNA product. Backstage segments in Lucha Underground look like they were made for a tv drama, with skyline shots and meetings in dirty offices. It just has that CBS cop show drama type feel to their backstage segments.
Dario Cueto is the on air ruler of Lucha Underground. The Spanish Vince McMahon I guess you could say. Cueto, immediately throws out his power in episode number one as he offers $100,000 to the wrestler that could impress him the most by the end of the show.
Former WWE wrestler/announcer Matt Striker and Lucha Legend Vampiro are the commentators. Former WCW U.S. Champion and NWO member Konnan serve as a manager to the current Lucha Underground Champion, Prince Puma.
Lucha Underground has many masked Lucha wrestlers that have made their names in the AAA Mexican Promotion. A few ex-WWE guys are in the company, Chavo Guerrero, John Morrison and Zeke Jackson. The Ladies division is currently small and there is no tag division as of yet. Like I said, I really enjoyed Episode 1, check it out for yourself when you get time.
