Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 4.1.16: NXT & SmackDown

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your NXT Recap Edition.

This week's NXT took place at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. NXT served its go home show to NXT Takeover: Dallas live this Friday Night. #1 Contenders to the NXT World Tag Team Championship, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable battled Corey Hollis and John Skylar. Baron Corbin battled Mike K. in a one on one match. The NXT World Tag Team Champions, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson battled Tucker Knight and Steve Cutler in non-title tag team action. Apollo Crews took on Alex Riley in one on one action. In the main event, #1 contender to the NXT World Title, Samoa Joe, battled Bull Dempsey.

*** NXT ***

- Jason Jordan and Chad Gable vs. Corey Hollis and John Skylar: The match closes out with Skylar applying a hammer lock, but Gable reverses and tags in Jordan. Jordan hits a drop kick on Skylar. Gable with a suplex on Hollis and Jordan follows with a cradle suplex of his own on Hollis. Jordan hits a spear on Hollis and finishes Hollis off with the American Alpha double team finisher to score the pinfall. After the match, NXT World Tag Team Champions, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, are shown watching from a backstage monitor.
Winners: Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, by pinfall.

- Finn Balor Video Segment: Balor says Samoa Joe is obsessed with winning the NXT World Title, but Balor is obsessed with being the best, which is why he'll retain the NXT World Title at NXT Takeover: Dallas.

- Baron Corbin vs. Mike K: The match closes out with Corbin making quick work of Mike K with a huge clothesline, followed by Deep Six for the pinfall. After the match, Corbin hits Mike K with End Of Days and leaves him laid out.
Winner: Baron Corbin, by pinfall.

- Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson vs. Tucker Knight and Steve Cutler: The match closes out with Knight getting the hot tag and cleaning house on the tag team champions. Dawson escapes to the floor and Knight follows him. Knight gets back in the ring and immediately gets dropped with the double team gut buster finisher by the champs for the pinfall. After the match, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable are shown watching from a backstage monitor.
Winner: Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, by pinfall.

- Apollo Crews vs. Alex Riley: The match closes out with Crews destroying Riley with a charging clothesline. Crews hits an enziguri, followed by the Apollo Bomb to score the pinfall. After the match, Elias Samson shows up at ringside singing and playing his guitar, then leaves after Crews dares him to get in the ring.
Winner: Apollo Crews, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Baron Corbin brags that we haven't seen Austin Aries since he was beaten down by Corbin. Corbin says after he destroys Aries at NXT Takeover: Dallas, Aries will end up sitting next to Virgil at a convention.

- Samoa Joe vs. Bull Dempsey: The match closes out with Dempsey countering a Joe running boot and lands a punch. Joe counters a Dempsey back body drop and hits the STJoe. Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch submission and forces Dempsey to tap out. After the match, Joe refuses to release the Coquina Clutch submission on Dempsey, as NXT officials hit the ring. NXT GM William Regal and a few more officials come out. Joe releases the submission and starts to attack the officials.
Joe reapplied Dempsey in the Coquina Clutch submission, forcing Finn Balor to hit the ring and go after Joe. Balor hits a couple drop kicks and sends Joe through the outside barricade. Joe tosses Balor over the announcers table. The locker room clears out and both men get separated. Balor breaks free and leaps from the announcers table onto Joe as NXT closes out.
Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission.

This week's Smackdown took place in Brooklyn, New York. The final stop before the train rolls into Wrestlemania 32 this Sunday, live in Dallas Texas! This week's Smackdown featured AJ Styles battle Heath Slater of The Social Outcasts. Jey Uso of The Usos battled Devon Dudley of The Dudley Boys one on one. In the main event, Dean Ambrose battled Erick Rowan of The Wyatt Family.

- The Social Outcasts Promo: Heath Slater says we're looking at the winners of this year's Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania. The Outcasts begin mocking AJ Styles, state the phenomenal one can't beat the phenomenal four and the Outcasts are Fournomenal.

- AJ Styles vs. Heath Slater: The match closes out with Styles knocking Adam Rose off the apron with a Pele Kick. Slater gets a near fall roll up on Styles. Styles gets sent to the outside apron where Styles knees Curtis Axel. Styles lands a shoulder to the gut of Slater and then hits the springboard forearm to score the pinfall.
Winner: AJ Styles, by pinfall.

- We get a sneak peek of the Wrestlemania stage for Sunday's event at AT&T Stadium and a video package of past and present WWE superstars giving their opinion on the Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker Hell In A Cell Match. WWE also runs down their Wrestlemania 32 kickoff show information and what to expect this weekend on the WWE Network.

- We get a recap on the Triple H/Roman Reigns feud.

- We get a Snoop Dogg video package for Snoop's HOF induction this Saturday along with a rundown of the WWE HOF ceremony on Saturday.

- Jey Uso vs. Devon Dudley: The match closes out with, Jey hitting a samoan drop and a Uso corner splash on Devon for a near fall. Jimmy leaps from the steel steps and takes out Bubba at ringside. Jey goes for a top rope superplex but gets sent face first into the turnbuckle. Devon hits a spine buster on Jey and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Devon Dudley, by pinfall.

- We get a preview of the WWE Divas Championship Triple Threat Match between Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. We then get a full run down of the Wrestlemania 32 card.

- We get a preview of Triple H vs. Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania. 

- Dean Ambrose vs. Erick Rowan: The match closes out with Ambrose hitting a flying elbow for a near fall. Rowan counters the Ambrose rebound lariat and gets a near fall slam and follows with another near fall spinning heel kick on Ambrose. Rowan slaps Ambrose in the face. Ambrose returns with the rebound lariat and Dirty Deeds to score the pinfall to close the show.
Winner: Dean Ambrose, by pinfall.
