Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, comes to you with a special Night of Champions preview for tonight's "special event". Night of Champions starts with the pre-show at 7:30 and the "special event" at 8:00, live from Nashville, Tennessee.
- "WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match": Brock Lesnar (c) vs John Cena: This match serves as the rematch to last month's SummerSlam match between the two. SummerSlam saw John Cena suffer probably the worst loss of his professional career as Brock Lesnar ran Cena over with ease. 16 German suplexes and 2 "F-5's" later, Lesnar walked out the champion. John Cena vows to avenge his defeat, prove that his career is far from done and get back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Brock Lesnar vows to destroy and rid the Universe of Cena once and for all.
- "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match": Dolph Ziggler (c) vs The Miz: This match serves as a rematch from last month's SummerSlam event. At SummerSlam, Ziggler defeated Miz to win the WWE I-C Title. Miz demanded his rematch and now has Damien Sandow in his corner as his "Hollywood Stunt Double". Ziggler looks to drop the self proclaimed "Hollywood A-Lister" and his "Hollywood Stunt Double" from this sequel match. Ziggler has also enlisted his own "stunt double" in his corner. R-Truth has been watching Ziggler's back for the past few weeks and may possibly back Ziggler tonight.
- "WWE United States Championship Match": Sheamus (c) vs Cesaro: Cesaro earned the right to face Sheamus a few weeks back, by winning a #1 Contender's Match. Cesaro looks to become a 2-Time U.S. Champion. Sheamus and Cesaro both love a good fight and that is exactly what the "King of Swing" and the "Celtic Warrior" will give us.
- "WWE Divas Championship Match": Paige (c) vs A.J. Lee vs Nikki Bella: As a reward for turning on Brie Bella, Stephanie McMahon, has announced Nikki Bella as the new face of the WWE Divas Division. Meanwhile, Paige and A.J., are in a feud of their own over the Divas Championship, that's filled with love, hate, respect and "craziness".
- "WWE World Tag Team Championship Match": The Usos (c) vs Goldust and Stardust: What started as a respectful title shot from The Usos to the Rhodes Brothers, turned violent. The Rhodes Brothers failed to win the titles and turned heel on The Usos, beating down The Usos and taking out Jey's knee in the process. The bizarre brothers look to finally defeat The Usos and leave with their "cosmic keys" (Tag Titles). The Usos look to avenge Jey's injury and send the brothers back to bizarre world.
- Rusev (w/Lana) vs Mark Henry: Mark Henry stood up for America during another Lana anti-America rant. Rusev seemed to back down from Henry's weekly challenges as he would do just that when Henry would arrive. Lana finally accepted Henry's challenge for Night of Champions and guaranteed another Rusev "crushing". Henry, a former U.S. Olympic, promises to induct Rusev into the hall of pain.
- Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins: The former Shield members were supposed to have a rematch from their first bout on RAW last week. Roman Reigns, however, had to have emergency surgery for an incarcerated hernia over the weekend. Reigns will miss Night of Champions and it is unknown if there will be an opponent replacing Reigns or if the match will be dropped from the card. There have been rumors circulating that we could see the return of Dean Ambrose to take Reigns' spot, but it is still unclear at the moment.
- Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho: This match was signed after Randy Orton attacked Chris Jericho from behind in the medical room after Jericho injured his knee against Bray Wyatt. Orton looks to return to being the face of The Authority, Chris Jericho looks to get revenge on Orton.
And that is the card as of right now. There was also talk of Christian making a return on the pre-game show and hosting a special Peep Show segment. I'll return tomorrow afternoon with the Night of Champions recap. Until then, tap or snap.
