Wrestling Lockup with Brandon: WWE SmackDown #SmackDown

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your Smackdown Recap Edition.  

This week's Smackdown took place in Kansas City, Missouri. Chris Jericho and The Highlight Reel returns with special guest Sami Zayn. Sami Zayn battled WWE Intercontinental Champion, The Miz, in a non-title match. The Vaudevillains battled Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel of The Social Outcasts in tag team action. Nattie Neidhart and Becky Lynch battled Emma and WWE Women's Champion, Charlotte, in women's division tag team action. Rusev battled Zack Ryder in a one on one match. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson battled The Usos in the main event.

*** Smackdown ***

- The Highlight Reel, with Special Guest Sami Zayn: Chris Jericho kicks off Smackdown with The Highlight Reel. Jericho says he's a gift to the crowd and takes credit for being the reason Dean Ambrose isn't here tonight before introducing Sami Zayn. Jericho calls Zayn a sore loser, and a thief for touching Miz's Intercontinental Championship on RAW. Zayn says he's a good person and Jericho's scarf looks stupid. The Miz interrupts and tells Zayn to never touch his title ever again, Zayn rode Kevin Owens' coattails into the WWE and now Zayn is trying to ride Miz's. Zayn touches Miz's title on purpose, angering Miz. Jericho gets mad cause he's being disrespected and decides to leave. Zayn challenges Miz to a match and that starts now.

- The Miz vs. Sami Zayn: Kevin Owens comes out and sits in on commentary. The match closes out with Kevin Owens attacking Zayn from behind and causing a DQ. After the match, Owens and Miz double team and beat down Zayn. Cesaro hits the ring and unloads european uppercuts on everyone and even hits Zayn by accident. Cesaro grabs Miz's I-C Title and holds it up.
Winner: Sami Zayn, by DQ.

- Backstage, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson tell AJ Styles that back in the Bullet Club days, AJ wouldn't have thought twice about hitting someone with a steel chair. Styles says he's beating Roman Reigns on his own. Gallows and Anderson respect Styles' decision. Styles heads off to talk to Reigns.

- The Vaudevillains vs. Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas: The match closes out with Axel and Gotch double clothes lining each other. Dallas hits a belly to belly on English, but gets taken out with a big boot. The Vaudevillains finish off Dallas with the Whirling Dervish and score the pinfall. After the match, Big Cass hits the ring and says English and Gotch look like Sherlock Holmes rejects trying to solve the case of who's getting whooped. The Vaudevillains run, forcing Cass to hit the East River Crossing on Axel.
Winners: The Vaudevillains, by pinfall.

- Nattie Neidhart and Becky Lynch vs. Emma and Charlotte: The match closes out with Charlotte landing a knee and a boot on Becky. Becky hits an enziguri on Emma and tags Nattie. Emma hits the Emma-Mite Sandwich on Nattie, but Nattie fights back, applies the Sharpshooter submission and forces Emma to tap out.
Winners: Becky Lynch and Nattie Neidhart, by submission.

- Backstage, AJ Styles asks Roman Reigns if he's going to be in The Usos corner tonight. Reigns says he'll be wherever he wants to be. 

- Backstage, Darren Young asks Bob Backlund to be his life coach. Backlund says Young needs to learn that wrestling is life.

- Zack Ryder vs. Rusev: The match closes out with Rusev stomping on Ryder. Rusev drops Ryder with a series of suplexes and then forces Ryder to tap out in The Accolade, making quick work of Ryder. After the match, Kalisto hits the ring and lands a springboard on Rusev. Rusev escapes the ring and stares down Kalisto.
Winner: Rusev, by submission.

- Backstage, Fandango challenges R-Truth to a Goldango vs. Gorgeous Truth tag team match next week. Truth accepts the challenge.

- Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows (w/ AJ Styles) vs. Usos (w/ Roman Reigns): The match closes out with Jimmy getting tossed to the floor and Reigns checks on him. Anderson kicks Reigns in the face and starts a six man brawl. Styles challenges Reigns and The Usos to a six man tag team match.
Winner: No Contest

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows vs. Roman Reigns and The Usos: The match closes out with Reigns hot tagging and nailing a series of clotheslines. Styles and Gallows get dropped, but Styles gets back up and forearms Reigns. Anderson hits a spine buster on Reigns for a near fall. Reigns gets back up, fights off Anderson and hits a spear for the pinfall. After the match, Reigns and Styles have a stare down to end the show.
Winners: Roman Reigns and The Usos, by pinfall.
