Wrestling Lockup with Brandon: RAW

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is back with this week's RAW Recap Edition. 

This week's RAW was live in St. Louis, Missouri. The new era in wrestling begins tonight, as both Shane and Stephanie McMahon have been announced as the RAW GM's. Cesaro battled Kevin Owens with the winner getting a future match against The Miz for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Goldust took on Tyler Breeze in a one on one match. Big Cass and The New Day take on The Dudley Boys and The Vaudevillains in eight man tag team action. Becky Lynch battled Emma in one on one Women's Division action. Dean Ambrose returns with the Ambrose Asylum with special guest Stephanie McMahon. A battle royal was held to determine a new #1 contender to Kalisto and the WWE United States Championship. WWE Women's Champion, Charlotte weighs in on the Chicago Screwjob she pulled on Nattie Neidhart at WWE Payback. Main event time saw a six man tag team match with WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns, and The Usos vs. AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

- Stephanie and Shane McMahon Promo: Stephanie says it feels great to be back and is immediately cut off by Shane's music and entrance. Stephanie says she's learned how to do good business the seven years Shane was gone, hands Shane a gift and says she wants to embrace this new partnership. Shane's gift is the same picture of Shane and Vince that Vince stepped on last month when Vince considered Shane dead to him. Stephanie says there is no catch to the gift and is curious of what ideas Shane has for tonight. Shane appreciates the gift and is curious about Stephanie's ideas as well. Before either give anything away, Kevin Owens interrupts. Owens mocks Shane and Stephanie's new partnership and says he should get what he deserves, a WWE Intercontinental Championship match. Owens says he has no hope for Shane, praises Stephanie and states his contract grants him a rematch. Cesaro interrupts and says he had The Miz beat at Payback, but thanks to Owens he lost. Shane announces that it'll be Cesaro vs. Owens right now, with the winner getting a shot at The Miz and the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

- "#1 Contenders Match": Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens: The Miz and Maryse are on commentary. The match closes out with Owens grabbing Miz's IC-Title and tries to hit Cesaro. Cesaro hits Owens and Miz both with uppercuts. Cesaro goes for the Cesaro Swing on Owens, but Miz attacks Cesaro, forcing the referee to throw out the match. After the match, Owens and Miz shove each other and then beat down Cesaro. Sami Zayn hits the ring, decks Miz with a clothesline and then brawls with Owens. Zayn blocks a Skull Crushing Finale from Miz and hits the exploder suplex. Zayn hits a Helluva Kick on Owens, but misses one for Miz, as Maryse pulls Miz to the floor.
Winner: No Contest

- Backstage, Dean Ambrose tells Stephanie McMahon that he's not buying her new nice attitude. Stephanie offers to be a guest on the Ambrose Asylum and Ambrose accepts.

- Backstage, R-Truth says it was easier getting a team started with Goldust than it has been with Tyler Breeze. Goldust interrupts and mocks Breeze. Goldust's new partner Fandango arrives and they dance as Truth and Breeze take selfies.

- Backstage, AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson talk about WWE Payback. Styles guarantees he's leaving Extreme Rules with the title. Roman Reigns interrupts, says he respects Styles, but not Gallows and Anderson. The Usos arrive and all three challenge Styles, Anderson and Gallows to a six man tag team match tonight.

- Goldust vs. Tyler Breeze: The match closes out with Goldust trying to talk to R-Truth who's at ringside. Truth and Fandango who's also at ringside start dancing together, distracting Goldust. Breeze rolls up Goldust and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Tyler Breeze, by pinfall.

- The New Day Promo: The New Day mention Enzo's concussion, talks dirty about Beyonce and says they'll be waiting for Enzo and Big Cass when Enzo returns. The Vaudevillains interrupt. English says a real man like English and Gotch would've gotten up if they took that Enzo blow and they made Enzo the realest guy in the emergency room. The Dudleys interrupt and call English and Gotch carnies and feel they deserve a shot at the tag titles. Big Cass interrupts and sticks up for Enzo and calls the Dudleys and Vaudevillains SAWFT. Cass attacks Gotch and English and the Dudleys attack the New Day.

- "Eight Man Tag Team Match": Big Cass and The New Day vs. The Dudley Boys and The Vaudevillains: We get an impromptu eight man tag. The match closes out with Big E hitting a belly to belly on Gotch on the floor. Bubba hits the Bubba Bomb on Cass and gets a near fall. Kofi takes out Bubba, allowing Cass to hit the East River Crossing on Devon to score the pinfall.
Winners: The New Day and Big Cass, by pinfall.

- Becky Lynch vs. Emma: The match closes out with Becky hitting an exploder suplex on Emma for a near fall. Becky blocks a kick from Emma and goes for the Dis-Arm-Her submission, but Emma blocks. Emma gets the referee tied up with Becky for the distraction and hits the Michinoku Driver on Becky for the pinfall.
Winner: Emma, by pinfall.

- Ambrose Asylum, with Special Guest Stephanie McMahon: Ambrose says he's not buying the new nice Stephanie, but Stephanie says she couldn't be more happier. Ambrose talks about Roman Reigns spearing her at Wrestlemania. Stephanie admits she shouldn't have gotten involved. Ambrose talks about the McMahon's and says Stephanie must be mad that Vince put both her and Shane McMahon in charge.
Stephanie says it's time for a change in the new era, so she cancels the Ambrose Asylum, tells Ambrose to get out and announces the return of Chris Jericho and the Highlight Reel. Jericho arrives and immediately starts brawling with Ambrose. Ambrose hits a clothesline and unloads punches on Jericho. Jericho blocks Dirty Deeds and drops Ambrose with the Code Breaker. Jericho destroys the Ambrose Asylum set and busts "Mitch" the potted plant over Ambrose's back. Jericho talks trash to Ambrose before leaving.

- "#1 Contenders Battle Royal For The United States Championship": Kalisto was on commentary for this match. Titus O'Neil returns after being suspended. The final four came down to Zack Ryder, Rusev, Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus. Rusev thrust kicks Sheamus, allowing Del Rio to dump Sheamus to the floor. Rusev thrust kicks Del Rio and tosses him over the ropes, but Del Rio hangs on. Ryder steps in and eliminates Del Rio. Ryder hits a drop kick, and punch and the Broski Boot on Rusev. Rusev grabs Ryder and tosses him over the ropes for the win. After the match, Rusev and Lana taunt Kalisto.
Winner: Rusev, to become #1 Contender to Kalisto and the WWE United States Championship.

- Charlotte Promo: Charlotte says there was no screw job, the Hart family are just quitters and then calls referee Charles Robinson to the ring to give his side of the story. Robinson says Nattie Neidhart never tapped out, but was begging to stop the match and his friendship with Ric Flair had nothing to do with the outcome. Nattie interrupts and says Flair paid off Robinson because he knows the Harts are better. Charlotte tries to attack Nattie, but gets sent to the floor. Nattie slaps Flair, leg trips him and locks him in the Sharpshooter submission. Charlotte pulls her dad to safety as Nattie grabs Flair's Rolex and hall of fame ring and taunts the Flairs.

- Backstage, Stephanie McMahon tells Ric Flair that he's banned from ringside when Charlotte faces Nattie Neidhart in a rematch at Extreme Rules in a Submission Match.

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": Roman Reigns and The Usos vs. AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson: The match closes out with Jimmy landing a kick and a samoan drop on Styles for a near fall. Reigns sends Anderson to the floor with a clothesline, but gets hit from behind by Gallows. Gallows and Anderson send Reigns into the barricade and put the champ down. Styles hits the Phenomenal Forearm on Jimmy and scores the pinfall. After the match, Gallows and Anderson hold Reigns and tell Styles to hit Reigns with a steel chair. Styles throws down the chair and refuses. Gallows and Anderson attack Reigns as Jimmy comes from behind and hits Styles with the chair.
Jimmy and Jey clean house until Styles lands chair shots. Reigns is back in, Superman Punches Styles and then sends him to the floor. Reigns tosses Styles into the barricade and then power bombs Styles through the announcers table. Reigns stands over Styles before finally walking out to end RAW.
Winners: AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, by pinfall.
