Ring Of Honor: Global Wars 2016 Results #GlobalWars

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE brings you the Ring Of Honor Global Wars 2016 recap.

ROH Global Wars took place at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. The event also featured Ring of Honor teaming up with New Japan Pro Wrestling and showcasing not only ROH wrestlers, but also NJPW wrestlers as well. The main event saw Jay Lethal defend the ROH World Heavyweight Championship against hometown boy, Colt Cabana.

*** ROH Global Wars 2016 ***

- "#1 Contender, Fatal Four Way Match, For The ROH Television Championship": Dalton Castle vs. Roderick Strong vs. ACH vs. Adam Page: The match closes out with ACH hitting a reverse STO while Page hits a shooting star shoulder block. ACH hits Air Jordan, as Strong imitates Brock Lesnar and takes everyone to suplex city. Strong takes out ACH with a double knee gut buster. Page catches a kick, as Castle comes out of nowhere and hits the Bangarang on Strong into Page and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Dalton Castle, by pinfall, to become #1 contender to the ROH Television Championship.

- The Addiction vs. Jushin Thunder Liger and Cheeseburger: The match closes out with Liger tagging in and hitting Shotei and a tilt a whirl back breaker on Addiction. Liger hits the Liger Bomb on Daniels and gets a near fall as Kaz breaks up the pinfall. Daniels and Kaz hit Celebrity Rehab on Liger and Liger's head gets spiked into the mat hard. Liger rolls to the floor hurt as Daniels attacks Cheeseburger. Cheeseburger rolls up Daniels and scores the pinfall. After the match, Liger is checked on by medical and is lucky to have avoided a serious neck injury. The Addiction attack and lay out Cheeseburger with the Best Meltzer Driver Ever. Cheeseburger gets medical assistance and they help him backstage.
Winners: Jushin Thunder Liger and Cheeseburger, by pinfall.

- "ROH World Tag Team Championship Match": War Machine (c) vs. The Briscoes: The match closes out with Fallout getting countered by The Briscoes and they hit the Splash and Froggy Elbow on Hanson for a near fall. Hanson comes back and hits a corner senton on Jay and then follows with the Path of Resistance on Jay. Hanson goes for a moonsault, but ends up missing as Jay moves. Jay hits the Jay Driller on Hanson and gets a near fall. The Briscoes go for the Doomsday Device on Hanson, but Rowe makes the save and stops it. Rowe hits a pop up german suplex on Mark. Jay gets nailed with the Spin Kick of Doom. War Machine hit Fallout on Mark, cover, score the pinfall and retain the titles.
Winners: War Machine, by pinfall, to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

- Tetsuya Naito vs. Kyle O'Reilly: The match closes out with Naito running up the ropes and hitting a tornado DDT on Kyle and then follows up with a top rope hurricanrana for a near fall. Naito lands a big boot on Kyle, but Kyle rebounds back and nails a lariat on Naito. Both men trade forearms which ends with Naito eating a lariat and a flying forearm. Kyle with a cradle suplex on Naito and gets a near fall. Naito hits Glora on Kyle for a near fall and Kyle responds with a KO Knee. Naito is back up, plants Kyle with a spine buster and hits Destino for the pinfall. After the match, Naito goes low and kicks Kyle in the family jewels.
Winner: Tetsuya Naito, by pinfall.

- Moose and Okada vs. Michael Elgin and Hiroshi Tanahashi: The match closes out with Okada hitting the Okada DDT and a forearm on Tanahashi for a near fall. Okada goes for a Tombstone, but Tanahashi counters and hits a Sling Blade. Elgin tags in, lands a second rope power slam, an assisted power bomb and hits a Buckle Bomb on Okada for a near fall. Okada hits a reverse neck breaker on Elgin. Moose sends Tanahashi into the barricade and lands a drop kick. Moose spears Elgin into next week. Okada hits the Rainmaker on Elgin, covers and scores the pinfall.
Winners: Moose and Okada, by pinfall.

- "ROH World Television Championship Match": Tomohiro Ishii (c) vs. Bobby Fish: The match closes out with Ishii hitting a delayed suplex for a near fall and follows with a Saito suplex on Fish. Ishii hits a power bomb on Fish for a near fall. Fish unloads a series of knees before getting dropped with a german suplex from Ishii. Both men end up on the apron and trade punches and forearms. Both men make it back to the ring just before the twenty count. Ishii hits a clothesline on Fish for a near fall. Fish is back up and applies a rear naked choke submission on Ishii. Ishii escapes by landing a series of elbows on Fish. Fish reapplies the rear naked choke submission and cinches it in. Ishii refuses to tap out and eventually passes out, forcing the referee to stop the match.
Winner: Bobby Fish, by stoppage, to win the ROH Television Championship.

- "Eight Man Tag Team Match": The Bullet Club (Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa) vs. Kushida, Matt Sydal and The Motor City Machine Guns: The match closes out with Tonga corner splashing Shelley, but Tonga and Tanga get hit with the G9. Tanga hits a Michinoku Driver on Shelley for a near fall. Shelley gets worked over in the BC corner. Shelley hits a double reverse STO on both Young Bucks and tags KUSHIDA. KUSHIDA drops the Bucks with a rollup and a german suplex. Tonga hits an Oklahoma Stampede on Sydal, but gets dropped with a standing moonsault. Sydal and Sabin unload superkicks. The Bucks come back and hit a Meltzer Driver out of nowhere and score the pinfall.
Winners: The Bullet Club, by pinfall.

- BJ Whitmer comes out to the ring and yells at Mr. Wrestling III. Whitmer says he has some footage of Steve Corino on a flash drive that he might want to take home and look at.

- "ROH World Heavyweight Championship Match": Jay Lethal (c) vs. Colt Cabana: Taeler Hendrix gets ejected from ringside, after arguing with Nigel McGuinness. The match closes out with Cabana hitting a splash and a hip attack on Lethal for a near fall. Lethal hits Lethal Combination on Cabana, but Cabana is back up and hits the Chicago Skyline for a near fall. Both men counter each others Tombstone attempts until Lethal finally hits one on Cabana. Cabana applies the Billy Goat's Curse submission and Lethal tries to hang on. Taeler returns to ringside, but gets super kicked out of nowhere by The Young Bucks. The Bucks super kick the referee and then offer Lethal and Cabana Bullet Club shirts. The lights suddenly go out, then back on and Adam Cole is in the middle of the ring. Cole joins The Bullet Club and we get an nWo style takeover. The Bullet Club beat down Lethal and Cabana, super kick officials, referees, security guards, commentators Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino. Lethal gets zipped tied to the ropes and Cabana is beaten down again. The Bullet Club attack and super kick the camera men as the show closes out.
Winner: No Contest
