This week's NXT took place at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa battled the debuting team of Shane Thorne and Nick Miller, who call themselves TM61, in tag team action. Austin Aries and Shinsuke Nakamura argue over who will be the next NXT World Champion. No Way Jose battled Jonathon Ordagan in a one on one match. In the main event, Nia Jax took on Carmella and Alexa Bliss to determine the new #1 contender to Asuka and the NXT Women's Championship.

- NXT GM William Regal announces that Bayley is currently fighting an injury and can't have her NXT Women's Championship rematch at Takeover. Tonight, Nia Jax will face Carmella and Alexa Bliss in a triple threat match to determine a new #1 contender for NXT Takeover.
- Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa vs. Shane Thorne and Nick Miller: Shane Thorne and Nick Miller, aka TM61, make their NXT debut. The match closes out with Miller and Thorne hitting a modified standing neck breaker on Ciampa and getting a near fall, but Gargano breaks up the pin. Gargano suicide dives onto Miller, as Thorne misses a clothesline. Ciampa charges and nails Thorne with a knee in the corner. Gargano is back in and they hit the double team super kick/running knee on Thorne to score the pinfall.
Winners: Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, by pinfall. - Backstage, Bayley agrees with what William Regal said earlier. Nia Jax interrupts and says she broke Bayley last week that's why she can't compete. Carmella and Alexa Bliss arrive and get in Nia's face. Nia says it's not worth it and walks away.
- Austin Aries Promo: Aries says he doesn't want to be the best, he wants to be the greatest. Aries says that whoever wins the NXT World Title Steel Cage match will have to deal with Aries next. Shinsuke Nakamura interrupts and heads to the ring. Nakamura speaks in Japanese and then apologizes because Aries probably doesn't understand what he's saying. Nakamura says the NXT World Title isn't going to greatness, it's going to the king. NXT GM William Regal interrupts next and announces a #1 contenders match between Aries and Nakamura at NXT Takeover.
- No Way Jose vs. Jonathon Ordagan: The match closes out with Jose making quick work of Ordagan. Jose hits an airplane spin into a rolling senton. Jose hits the knockout punch, followed by the cobra clutch slam to score the pinfall.
Winner: No Way Jose, by pinfall. - Backstage, Asuka says it doesn't matter who the #1 contender is because she will defeat her.
- "#1 Contenders, Triple Threat Match": Nia Jax vs. Carmella vs. Alexa Bliss: The match closes out with Carmella kicking Alexa and hitting a dive to the outside onto Nia. Carmella hits the bronco buster and locks Alexa in her triangle choke submission. Nia breaks up the submission, but ends up in a sleeper hold submission by Carmella. Nia escapes and Carmella goes for a Thesz Press from the top rope for a near fall.
Nia slams Carmella to the mat, drops the big leg drop and scores the pinfall. After the match, Asuka hits the ring and goes face to face with Nia. Asuka holds up her title and Nia says next time Asuka gets this close to her she'll drop her.
Winner: Nia Jax, to become the #1 Contender to the NXT Women's Championship. - This ended this week's NXT.
