Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's this week's NXT and Smackdown recap for the week.
*** NXT ***
- This week's NXT was at their home base at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.
- Carmella defeated Peyton Royce, by submission: Peyton has the upper hand on Carmella as she tosses Carmella into the corner, lands a kick to the face and follows with a kick to the back of the head. Peyton goes to the top rope and hits a flying body splash on Carmella. Carmella comes back, trips up Peyton and locks in her submission finisher. Peyton has no choice but to tap out.
- Backstage, Samoa Joe and Finn Balor are getting ready for their tag team match tonight. Balor goes to leave, but Joe tells Balor he forgot to grab his NXT World Title. Joe grabs it and hands it to Balor.
- Highlights of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament are shown.
- Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defeated Tyler Breeze and Bull Dempsey, by pinfall, in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Match: The match closes out with Ciampa trapping Dempsey in a rear naked choke. Dempsey escapes by dropping Ciampa on his back. Gargano tags in and drop kicks Breeze off the apron. Dempsey steps back in and unloads punches that resembled Dusty Rhodes punches on Gargano. Breeze gets back on the apron and Dempsey accidentally nails Breeze and sends him back to the floor. Gargano lands a sunset flip on Dempsey and Ciampa follows with a roll up pinfall. Gargano and Ciampa advance in the tournament.
- Backstage, The Lucha Dragons predict victory over Samoa Joe and Fin Balor tonight and dedicate it to Dusty Rhodes. - Backstage, Dana Brooke states that she is the best women's wrestler right now and will be the next NXT Women's Champion.
- Dana Brooke defeated Billie Kay, by pinfall: The match closes out with Dana taking down Billie and showing UFC style mat blows. Dana puts Billie in the corner and chokes her with her foot. Dana hits her modified Michinoku driver on Billie and scores the pinfall.
- Backstage, Apollo Crews is here, calls the fans the Apollo Nation and its taking over NXT.
- Samoa Joe and Fin Balor defeated The Lucha Dragons, by pinfall, in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Match: The match closes out with Joe getting the hot tag and unloads on Team Lucha. Sin Cara slows Joe down with a tornado DDT and follows with a springboard moonsault on Balor. Sin Cara hits a suicide dive on Balor, who ended up on the floor, as Kalisto delivers a hurracanrana to Joe. The Dragons look to finish off the match when Joe comes back and plants Kalisto with a uranage. Joe lays out Kalisto with the Muscle Buster and Balor follows, landing the double stomp off the top rope on Kalisto. Balor covers, scores the pinfall and Joe and Balor advance in the tournament to close out the show.
*** Smackdown ***
- This week's Smackdown took place in Wilkes-Barre, PA
- The Wyatt Family Speaks Out: The Wyatt Family kick off Smackdown this week with a promo. Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper again send warnings to Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and any WWE superstar that tries to help them in this war. The Wyatt's show on the Titantron what they did to Randy Orton this past RAW, just for being caught talking to Reigns and Ambrose backstage. Braun Strowman sends his own warning by telling Reigns and Ambrose to RUN!
- Cesaro defeated The Miz, by submission: The match closes out with Miz going for a running kick, but Cesaro counters the kick and applies the Sharpshooter submission. Miz has no choice but to tap out.
- Backstage, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Jimmy Uso hype their Six Man Tag Match later against The New Day. Reigns and Ambrose still seem not worried about The Wyatt Family threats.
- Paige vs. Sasha Banks Ends In A No Contest: Team PCB and Team BAD have a minor scuffle before the match. Becky Lynch, Charlotte, Naomi and Tamina Snuka all get ejected from ringside. All four ladies begin brawling, tossing each other into the barricade. Naomi and Tamina attack Paige, as a second referee runs out to try to help gain control. Charlotte and Becky are back out and a huge brawl erupts with referees trying to regain control. Team PCB finally chases Team BAD from the ring.
- Backstage, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is angry at Sting for destroying his statue on RAW. Rollins is angry at having to face both Sting and John Cena at Night Of Champions. Sheamus interrupts and reminds Rollins of his possible Money In The Bank cash in at Night Of Champions.
- The New Day vs. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Jimmy Uso Ends In A No Contest: The match closes out with Reigns getting the hot tag and unloading on The New Day. Ambrose plants Kofi Kingston with Dirty Deeds, Reigns hits the Superman Punch on Xavier Woods and Uso tags in and goes to the top rope. Uso hits the SuperFly Splash, however, the lights go out and we see The Wyatt Family graphic on the Titantron. The lights come back on and The Wyatt Family have Jimmy Uso held hostage on stage. Reigns and Ambrose go to make the save, but the lights go out again. The lights come back on and Uso is left laid out on the stage in front of Reigns and Ambrose with Bray's voice taunting them.
- The Ascension defeated The Lucha Dragons, by pinfall: Stardust comes out with The Ascension and stands in their corner. The match closes out with Stardust trying to interfere, but Kalisto chases Stardust off. The Ascension take advantage and hit Fall of Man on Kalisto to score the pinfall. After the match, The Ascension and Stardust beat down the Dragons until Neville hits the ring and makes the save.
- Backstage, Charlotte and Nikki Bella have words with each other about Charlotte attempting to stop Nikki from breaking A.J. Lee's longest WWE Divas Championship reign this Monday on RAW.
- Seth Rollins defeated Ryback, by pinfall, in a Lumberjack Match: The match closes out with all hell breaking loose. Big Show tosses Ryback into the barricade. Mark Henry attacks Show with punches. Show gets escorted to the back by other lumberjack's. The heel lumberjack's attack Ryback in the ring and the face lumberjack's make the save. The Lucha Dragons hit suicide dives to the floor, taking out lumberjack's. Neville hits Red Arrow on Stardust and then lands a moonsault off the top rope to the floor, taking out lumberjack's. Rollins finally hits the Pedigree on Ryback, covers and scores the pinfall. Rollins celebrates to close out Smackdown.
