Weekend 3 Count 7.26 - 8.1 #WWE #TNA #ROH #GFW #LuchaUnderground

It's the Weekend 3 Count, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. The W3C, brings you news and rumors going on around the wrestling world. Whether it's WWE, NXT, TNA, GFW, ROH, Lucha Underground or the independent wrestling scene, I'll talk about it.

*** WWE and NXT News ***

- Another legend gone way too soon. The wrestling world was just getting over the passing of Dusty Rhodes last month, now another legend has entered the pearly gates above. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was found in his Hollywood home on Friday morning, suffered what appeared to be cardiac arrest sometime Thursday night. Piper had some memorable feuds with Hulk Hogan and Mr. T during the WWE's Rock and Wrestling era of the 80's. Piper main evented the very first Wrestlemania, teaming with Paul Orndorff in a tag match against Hogan and Mr. T. Piper left WWE and entered the world of acting, starring in the cult classic John Carpenter's They Live. Piper was a true legend that will be missed in the wrestling world. Another piece of my childhood his gone, RIP Hot Rod.

- WWE have announced that this year's SummerSlam might be a four hour event. WWE is looking at bringing in WWE and wrestling Legends for the show as well. WWE have already signed Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker for the main event.

- WWE announced that their original plans of Sting competing at SummerSlam have now changed. Sting will not compete and only be apart of the SummerSlam autograph signing during SummerSlam weekend.

- This week on RAW, John Cena, retained the WWE United States Championship and became the #1 Contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, after defeating WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.

- During the WWE United States Championship Match, John Cena, suffered a legit nose break. Seth Rollins delivered a knee to the face on Cena and connected with his nose, breaking it. Cena underwent emergency surgery after RAW and is expected to miss at least a week or two of action. 

- WWE Diva, Alicia Fox, suffered a concussion this week on RAW. No word on how long she'll be out for.

- In the wake of the whole Hulk Hogan firing, due to racial remarks last week. WWE stated that Hogan cost the company $50 million dollars in the aftermath of his remarks. WWE fired Hogan from the company and currently have taken away all of his title victories, his hall of fame induction and any achievements he has made in wrestling to date. WWE has also discontinued all Hogan, Hulkamania and nWo t-shirts and merchandise. Hogan has gone on record, apologizing and giving thanks to the fans that are still standing behind him.

- The Miz appeared on Tough Enough this week, taking Hulk Hogan's spot on the show. There has been no announcement as of yet as to who will be taking Hogan's spot permanently.

- WWE announced that Shawn Michaels will take Hulk Hogan's spot on the WWE Australia tour. Michaels will be guest GM for three live shows.

- Rumors have made the rounds in WWE about a new member being added to the Wyatt Family with Erick Rowan currently injured. Rumors have said that Adam Rose may be a likely candidate for the spot. Nothing official has been said about the gimmick change as of yet.

- NXT's Enzo Amore, Big Cass and Carmella made their WWE main roster debut this week at WWE House Shows. There has been talk for the past month that the trio would be debuting on the main roster soon. 

- WWE announced that Steve Austin will have another live podcast after RAW tomorrow night. His guest will be Paige.

- Former WWE Divas Champion, Layla, has officially announced her retirement from WWE and from wrestling all together.

- WWE announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger will play his Terminator character and be available as a downloadable character in WWE2K16. You can check out the commercial here:


- WWE announced they may be starting a new deal with the WWE Network soon. WWE will offer every WWE pay per view each month for $4.99. This will give the viewer the pay per view only. Access to the whole Network will still cost $9.99.

*** TNA News ***

- This past week on Impact, Jeff Jarrett was officially inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame.

- Austin Aries will face Rockstar Spud on Impact next week. If Aries loses he's fired from TNA.

- Matt Hardy officially announced that the stipulation he has picked for his TNA World Heavyweight Championship match against Ethan Carter III will be a Full Metal Mayhem Match.

- It currently appears that Ethan Carter III will face Drew Galloway with Jeff Hardy as the special guest referee, in this years Bound for Glory main event, with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on the line.

- TNA Knockout, Angelina Love, announced this week on Twitter, that her and Davey Richards are expecting their first child.

*** GFW News ***

- The following have been announced for GFW's next set of TV tapings on August 21st: The Killer Elite Squad (Davey Boy Smith Jr, and Lance Archer), The Bullet Club (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson), Shelton Benjamin, Candice LeRae and Eric Young.

- Former UFC fighter, TV analyst and current GFW announcer Chael Sonnen is being scheduled to meet with the WWE's Michael Cole at the August 11th WWE SmackDown tapings in Portland, Oregon. Nothing has been said why this meeting is taking place.

*** ROH News ***

- This week on Ring Of Honor: Michael Bennett and Matt Taven defeated Corey Hollis and Jonathan Gresham. Moose defeated Caprice Coleman, Silas Young, Dalton Castle, Cheeseburger and Bob Evans in a Six Man Mayhem Match. BJ Whitmer attempts to put Colby Corino in a Gauntlet Match, as his way of rewarding Corino for the ass kickings he's taken. Colby's dad, Steve Corino, looks to put a stop to it, until Nigel McGuinness appears, stops Steve and has words with BJ. Bobby Fish defeated ACH to close out the show.

- ROH announced that Roderick Strong has signed a new contract with the company.

- Former TNA Knockout Taeler Hendrix took to Twitter Wednesday and stated that Ring Of Honor will be starting up a women's division soon.

*** Lucha Underground News ***

- This week on Lucha Underground: Dario Cueto tells Black Lotus that Dragon Azteca killed her parents and not Matanza like originally thought. Cage defeated The Mack in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. The Disciples of Death defeated Ivelisse, Son of Havoc and Angelico to win the Lucha Underground Trios Championship. Drago defeated Hernandez in a Beliver's Backlash Match, where the fans surrounded the ring with straps and whipped either wrestler that fell to the floor.

*** Other Wrestling News ***

- Mika Rotunda, the daughter of Mike "IRS" Rotunda and the sister of Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, is looking at trying out with the WWE.

- Former MTV Jersey Shore castmate, Angelina Pivarnick, stated that she has been working out and training for a possible WWE tryout.

- Actor Stephen Amell, star of CW's Arrow, recently teased a possible RAW appearance sometime in August, to confront either Stardust or The Miz. Amell and Stardust had a face to face at a RAW event a few months back. The Miz has been tweeting Amell on Twitter and mocking the Arrow star.

- Last week at a UFC Q&A show Phil "CM Punk" Brooks had a mild altercation with a fan, who taunted Punk and wanted to fight Punk. You can check out that video here:
