Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 8.7.15: #Smackdown & #NXT

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's this week's NXT and Smackdown recap for the week.

- This week's NXT took place at NXT's home base at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.

- Bayley defeated Charlotte, by pinfall. Charlotte gets a near fall on a spear and then locks in the Figure Four submission. Bayley refuses to tap, reverses the hold and forces Charlotte to release the hold. Bayley hits Bayley-To-Belly, but Charlotte kicks out. Bayley gets sent into the turn buckle by Charlotte, but Bayley fights back. Bayley hits a Super Bayley-To-Belly on Charlotte, covers and scores the pin.

- Kevin Owens is questioned about his apologies to NXT GM William Regal. Owens says Regal wanting Owens to lose is a big issue, winning the NXT World Title back will remind him of what he did to Sami Zayn and make his bank account bigger. Owens thinks Regal may add a crooked referee to his match so at Takeover: Brooklyn, Owens wants Finn Balor in a Ladder Match.

- Baron Corbin defeated Jesus De Leon, by pinfall. Corbin with another squash match, pinning De Leon with End of Days.

- NXT GM William Regal announces Bayley will face Becky Lynch next week. The winner faces Sasha Banks at Takeover: Brooklyn for the NXT Women's Championship.

- Tyler Breeze defeated Aaron Solo, by pinfall. Breeze with a squash match victory, pinning Solo with the Beauty Shot.

- NXT GM William Regal announces Tyler Breeze will face Japanese legend Jushin Thunder Liger at Takeover: Brooklyn.

- NXT newcomer Uhaa Nation will debut at Takeover: Brooklyn and go by the name Apollo Crews.

- Finn Balor is interviewed and says he doesn't believe a word Kevin Owens has to say.

- The Hype Brothers defeated Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, by pinfall. Zack Ryder hot tags in as Mojo hits a fireman's carry slam. Ryder and Mojo hit the Super Rough Ryder and score the pin.

- Dawson and Wilder attack Mojo and Ryder, backstage.

- NXT GM William Regal announces at Takeover: Brooklyn, The Vaudevillians will get another shot at the NXT World Tag Team Championship, against Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy.

- Samoa Joe defeated Rhyno, by pinfall. Rhyno hits a TKO on Joe, but Joe leaps off the ropes and lands a big kick. Rhyno comes back and lands a belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Joe lands an enziguri on Rhyno and follows up with the Muscle Buster. Joe covers and scores the pin. Joe celebrates to close out the show.

*** Smackdown ***

- This week's Smackdown took place in Sacramento, California.

- Smackdown kicked off with a tribute to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

- Roman Reigns is in the ring with a microphone. Reigns is impressed with the Wyatt Family reunion, family vs. family is Reigns' speciality and mentions his Shield brother Dean Ambrose. Rusev interrupts Reigns and makes his way out to the ring. Reigns says Rusev's new girlfriend (Summer Rae) looks creepy dressed like Lana and Rusev's Russian accent sucks. Rusev has nothing to say and instead waves his flag viciously.

- The Prime Time Players and Mark Henry defeated The New Day, by pinfall. Mark Henry gets the blind tag, as Titus goes for the fallaway slam on Kofi Kingston. Titus throws Kofi behind him and Henry catches him. Henry plants Kofi with the World's Strongest Slam and scores the pin.

- The New Day are offended and point out  that Mark Henry beat them and not the Prime Time Players. The New Day start a new catchphrase to close out the segment.

- Charlotte defeated Naomi, by DQ. Charlotte rebounds from a corner kick from Naomi and slams her. Charlotte locks in the Figure Four Leglock submission on Naomi and tries to bridge it into the Figure Eight. Sasha Banks hits the ring and attacks Charlotte, causing the DQ. The referee however restarts the match as a tag team match now.

- Sasha Banks and Naomi defeated Charlotte and Becky Lynch, by pinfall. Both teams trade small package pinfalls back and forth until a pinfall is registered. It's unclear who exactly got the pinfall, but the referee announces Naomi and Banks as the winners.

- Stardust defeated Zack Ryder, by pinfall. Ryder hits the Broski Boot for a near fall. Ryder goes for the Rough Ryder, but Stardust counters with a kick and a backdrop. Stardust hits Cross Rhodes which he is now calling Queen's Crossbow, mocking Stephen Amell of the tv show Arrow and scores the pin. After the match, Stardust calls Amell the Emerald Archer and begs Amell to be his hero when he shows up on RAW.
 
- Big Show says the "Big Guy" Ryback is going to get knocked out at SummerSlam.

- Roman Reigns defeated Rusev, by pinfall. Both men are down, as Summer Rae looks to interfere to help Rusev. Lana comes to the ring and slaps Summer in the face. Rusev is distracted by Lana and orders her to come back to the ring. Rusev misses the bicycle kick on Reigns and eats a spear instead. Reigns covers and scores the pin. After the match, Bray Wyatt appears on the titantron. Bray says he tried to warn Reigns, he will bring down the Roman Empire, accepts Reigns challenge for SummerSlam and closes out the show stating he welcomes the war.
