Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 8.9.16: RAW Results

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is back with this week's RAW Recap Edition. 

This week's RAW was live in Anaheim, California. Two guests were invited to the show tonight by Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon. The first being Smackdown Live GM Daniel Bryan and the second being the famous R&B/Rapper Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs. What did Bryan and Puff Daddy have planned for RAW? Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens continued their feud with Enzo and Big Cass, as Jericho battled Enzo in one on one action. Braun Strowman faced another up and comer as he battled Jorel Nelson. Darren Young battled Titus O'Neil in a rematch from last week. Sheamus battled Cesaro in one on one action. The Dudley Boys battled Neville and Sin Cara in tag team action. WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks battled Dana Brooke in a non title match. Luke Gallows of The Club battled Kofi Kingston of The New Day. In the main event, Cesaro pulled double duty as he faced Rusev for the WWE United States Championship.

- Enzo and Big Cass Promo: Enzo talks about spitting game on the WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks last week, however, Chris Jericho interrupted things. Chris Jericho again interrupts and calls Big Cass Enzo's seven foot maid that cleans up his messes. Jericho says he has Kevin Owens watching his back now, as Owens appears. Owens says he used to like Cass back in NXT because just like Owens, Cass had that waste of space side kick, but unlike Cass, Owens got rid of his waste of space side kick. Cass wants to fight, but Jericho has a match lined up with Enzo instead.

- Chris Jericho vs. Enzo Amore: The match closes out with Enzo hitting Jericho with a near fall cross body. Kevin Owens grabs Enzo's foot and Big Cass runs over for the save. Jericho lays out Enzo with the Code Breaker during the distraction. Cass hits the ring and lays out Jericho with a big boot, causing a DQ. After the match, Big Cass challenges Jericho and Owens to a match at Summer Slam.
Winner: Chris Jericho, by DQ.

- Backstage, WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks asks RAW GM Mick Foley to make her match against Charlotte at Summer Slam a handicap match so she can keep an eye on Dana Brooke. Foley says if Sasha beats Dana tonight then he'll ban Dana from ringside. If Sasha loses, it'll become a handicap match.

- Braun Strowman vs. Jorel Nelson: Strowman makes quick work of Nelson with a big clothesline and the reverse choke slam for the pinfall.
Winner: Braun Strowman, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Mick Foley and The New Day congratulate Puff Daddy on being the curator for WWE 2K17. Puff Daddy asks Big E. how his nuts are doing. Foley and Woods tell Puff Daddy he can’t say that on TV.

- Darren Young vs. Titus O'Neil: The match closes out with Titus hitting a short arm clothesline on Young. Young goes for a splash from the second rope, but Titus catches him. Young reverses it into a roll-up, grabs Titus' tights and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Darren Young, by pinfall.

- Seth Rollins Promo: Rollins says he is re-evaluating his position on Finn Balor, Balor is disrespectful and Rollins wants to know who Balor really is. Rollins says that Balor thinks he's winning the WWE Universal Championship and Balor has no right to question Rollins. Rollins says he doesn't need a fake name that Balor carries because Rollins is the man. Rollins guarantees he'll defeat Balor at Summer Slam and add to his already impressive resume.

- Sheamus vs. Cesaro: The match closes out with Sheamus and Cesaro trading punches on the top rope. Cesaro hits a drop kick on Sheamus and Sheamus accidentally hits the referee. Sheamus rolls up Cesaro, but the referee is still down. Sheamus releases the roll up allowing Cesaro to roll up Sheamus just as the referee gets up to score the pinfall.
Winner: Cesaro, by pinfall.

- The Dudley Boys vs. Neville and Sin Cara: The match closes out with Sin Cara hitting a springboard moonsault on Bubba. Sin Cara tags in Neville and Neville cleans house on The Dudleys. Devon accidentally clotheslines Bubba allowing Neville to hit the Red Arrow on Devon for the pinfall.
Winners: Neville and Sin Cara, by pinfall.

- Rusev and Lana Promo: Rusev brags about giving Lana the wedding she deserved, no one was invited in the WWE Universe cause it was VIP only, but we're in luck because they will celebrate their wedding ceremony for us. Lana calls Rusev the greatest man of all time. Roman Reigns interrupts and heads to the ring. Reigns says he noticed Rusev had no best man so he wanted to come out and toast the newlyweds. Rusev tells Reigns to leave. Reigns says that if he doesn't want a toast than at least accept his challenge for a WWE United States Championship match at Summer Slam. Rusev says no so Reigns makes fun of Rusev. Rusev attacks Reigns, but Reigns fights back and shoves Rusev into Lana, who goes face first into their wedding cake.

- Backstage, Rusev demands that Mick Foley do something about what just happened. Foley says Rusev can work out his frustration at Summer Slam when he defends the WWE United States Championship against Roman Reigns.

- Sasha Banks vs. Dana Brooke: The match closes out with Dana hitting a huge clothesline out of the corner on Sasha. Charlotte tries to get involved and let's a slap fly. Sasha dodges the slap and Charlotte hits Dana on accident. Sasha lands a kick on Charlotte and then hits the jumping double knee strike on Dana to score the pinfall.
Winner: Sasha Banks, by pinfall, Dana Brooke is banned from ringside at Summer Slam.

- Luke Gallows vs. Kofi Kingston: The match closes out with Kofi hitting a dropkick and sending Gallows outside. Kofi hits a suicide dive and takes out Gallows. Back in the ring, Kofi gets distracted as Karl Anderson gets Kofi's attention. Gallows hits a flapjack on Kofi and scores the pinfall. After the match, The Club try to send Kofi crotch first into the ring post, but Xavier Woods makes the save with steel chair in hand. 
Winner: Luke Gallows, by pinfall.

- Mick Foley and Daniel Bryan Promo: Foley wants Bryan to apologize for letting Randy Orton invade RAW last week. Bryan apologizes, however, Foley tells Bryan to cut the crap because he heard the remarks Bryan made making fun of the WWE Universal Championship. Foley says the title was created because RAW deserves a world title. Rusev interrupts and says that he is the true champion of RAW. Cesaro interrupts next and demands a WWE United States Championship match against Rusev. Bryan likes that idea because in his opinion, Cesaro has been underutilized on Raw. Foley tells Bryan to mind his own business and makes a WWE United States Championship match between Rusev and Cesaro right now.

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Rusev (c) vs. Cesaro: The match closes out with Cesaro swinging Rusev and then locks Rusev in the Sharpshooter submission. Sheamus hits the ring, but Cesaro sends Sheamus flying off the apron. Rusev lands a thrust kick on Cesaro and gets a near fall. Cesaro hits The Neutralizer on Rusev, however, Sheamus knocks out the referee. Sheamus connects with a Brogue Kick on Cesaro and Rusev follows that with a thrust kick to Cesaro. Rusev covers and scores the pinfall as the referee comes to. After the match, Roman Reigns hits the ring and spears Rusev to end the show.
Winner: Rusev, by pinfall, to retain the WWE United States Championship.
