This week's NXT took place at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Tonight's show was the go home show to this Saturday nights NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 2 pay per view. Hideo Itami battled Mustafa Ali in a one on one match to kick off this week's show. Carmella, Liv Morgan and Nikki Glenncross battled Alexa Bliss, Daria Berenato and Mandy Rose in a six woman tag team match. Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura have one last sit down interview before their NXT World Championship Match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 2

- Hideo Itami vs. Mustafa Ali: The match closes out with Ali hitting a neck breaker on Itami and then follows that up with a dive though the ropes and hitting a kip up neck breaker. Itami comes back hits two clotheslines on Ali and unloads with the KENTA combo. Ali goes to the corner and gets hit by Itami with the Busaiku Knee to score the pinfall.
Winner: Hideo Itami, by pinfall.

- A highlight video for this Saturday nights NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 2 is show. No Way Jose says Austin Aries crossed the line when he attacked him. Austin Aries says he's been beating people better than Jose for years. Bobby Roode says there's no better place than Brooklyn to debut. Andrade “Cien” Almas says Roode has no idea what is waiting for him. The Revival take credit for the reason the NXT tag division is what it is today. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa say they earned their title shot and they will be the next NXT World Tag Team Champions.

- Backstage, NXT GM William Regal gets interrupted by Billie Kay. Billie wants to be on the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 2 card. Regal agrees that she should be on it so Billie Kay will meet the debuting Ember Moon.

- "Six Woman Tag Team Match": Carmella, Liv Morgan and Nikki Glenncross vs. Alexa Bliss, Daria Berenato, and Mandy Rose: The match closes out with Alexa breaking up a Carmella pin and unloads a double knee attack on Carmella. Nikki hits a running neck breaker and takes out Alexa. Daria takes out Nikki with a spear. Mandy goes for a jackknife power bomb on Carmella, but Carmella counters and traps Mandy in the Code of Silence submission, forcing Mandy to tap out.
Winners: Carmella, Liv Morgan and Nikki Glenncross, by submission.

- Interview With Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura: NXT GM William Regal informs NXT Security to step in if the interview gets out of hand. Samoa Joe says he debuted a year ago and is rightfully in the main event. Joe isn't happy that he had to jump through hoops to get a title shot, Nakamura is automatically handed one and Joe thinks Regal doesn't want Joe as the champion. Nakamura says he's taking this title shot seriously, but his style is to be calm. Joe says he knows Nakamura well because Nakamura trained at Joe's Dojo. Nakamura denies that ever happened. Joe says he respects what Nakamura has done but that's it. Nakamura says he respects Joe. Joe says Nakamura is going to learn to respect Joe on Saturday night and asks if Nakamura thinks that this is a game. Nakamura stands up and goes nose to nose with Joe, forcing NXT Security to step in to close the show.
