Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 8.16.16: RAW Results

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is back with this week's RAW Recap Edition. 

This week's RAW was live in Corpus Christi, Texas. RAW served its go home show to this Sunday's Summer Slam event. Seth Rollins was in search of Finn Balor's alter ego The Demon King. Sheamus battled Sami Zayn in one on one action. WWE World Tag Team Champions The New Day battled The Dudley Boys in non title tag team action. New comer Rachel Levy tried to take down Nia Jax in one on one Women's Division action. Brock Lesnar returned to give his final thoughts on his match against Randy Orton at Summer Slam. Big Cass battled Kevin Owens in one on one action. The Prime Time Players reunited and battled The Shining Stars in tag team action. Neville battled Jinder Mahal in one on one action. Seth Rollins spent the evening looking for Finn Balor's alter ego, The Demon King. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson battled Golden Truth in tag team action. Charlotte battled Alicia Fox in one on one Women's Division action. Main event time saw WWE United States Champion Rusev battle Roman Reigns in a non title match, fighting for Lana's honor after being humiliated last week.

*** RAW ***

- Backstage, Seth Rollins is in the parking lot. Rollins calls out Finn Balor's alter ego The Demon King to face him now, but Balor no shows.

- Rusev and Lana Promo: Rusev says there will be no RAW until Roman Reigns apologizes for what he did last week. RAW GM Mick Foley arrives and orders Rusev to leave. Rusev says no, Foley sucks as a GM and he wants to speak to Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie arrives and tells Rusev that if he demands respect than he needs to show respect to Foley. Rusev threatens to call Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan for a SmackDown Live job. Roman Reigns arrives and says he'll give an apology if that's what Rusev wants. Reigns apologizes that Rusev found Lana on a website and apologizes for all the ugly little Sasquatch babies they'll have together. Reigns wants to fight Rusev tonight. Stephanie says the United States Championship match will still take place at Summer Slam. Foley says tonight they can fight in a non title match if Rusev wants to defend Lana's honor and wants respect.

- Sheamus Promo: Sheamus says that he is the most dominant Superstar in the WWE, he beat Cesaro and is moving on and taking out Sami Zayn next.

- Sheamus vs. Sami Zayn: The match closes out with Sheamus getting a near fall with White Noise. Zayn counters a scoop slam and drops Sheamus with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Sheamus counters the Helluva Kick with an Irish Curse back breaker. Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick, but Cesaro jumps on the apron and distracts Sheamus. Zayn hits the Helluva Kick on Sheamus and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Sami Zayn, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Sheamus and Cesaro are separated by WWE officials. RAW GM Mick Foley announces Sheamus vs. Cesaro in a best of seven series, match number one starts at Summer Slam.

- The New Day vs. The Dudley Boys: Before the match, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are on the Titan Tron dressed as doctors. The Club are looking for a cure for Big E's ringpostitis. The match closes out with Devon accidentally clotheslining Bubba Ray. Kofi hits Trouble In Paradise and scores the pinfall. After the match, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson again appear on the Titan Tron with an exploded egg in a microwave. The Club have failed to find Big E's cure, but will do more tests on Woods and Kofi at Summer Slam.
Winners: The New Day, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Seth Rollins is still looking for The Demon King. Rollins asks Neville if he's seen him. Neville tells Rollins that he's not ready for The Demon King.

- Nia Jax vs. Rachel Levy: Rachel gets a series of kicks in, but gets tossed off the top rope and planted with a Samoan power slam by Nia for the quick pinfall.
Winner: Nia Jax, by pinfall.

- Brock Lesnar Promo: Heath Slater interrupts and Paul Heyman asks Slater if he has a death wish. Slater says no one on RAW or Smackdown Live have taken notice to the hottest free agent so he's coming to Heyman. Heyman says he'd never advocate for Slater. Slater says that if he can beat Lesnar, he'll get a RAW contract and a match at Summer Slam. Heyman laughs and tells Slater to get lost. Slater throws a temper tantrum and says he has kids to feed. Lesnar grabs the microphone and says Slater has guts, but Lesnar doesn't give a shit about Slater's kids. Slater throws a punch at Lesnar, but gets destroyed with a Lesnar clothesline. Lesnar takes Slater to Suplex City with a series of German suplexes. Lesnar finishes Slater off with an F5 and tosses Slater to the floor. Heyman closes out the promo by predicting that Randy Orton will have no chance at defeating Brock Lesnar at Summer Slam.

- Big Cass vs. Kevin Owens: The match closes out with Cass missing a running Big Boot and gets sent to the floor. Owens goes for the apron power bomb, but Cass counters with a back body drop. Chris Jericho gets involved and shoves Enzo into the ring steps. Cass goes after Jericho, but Cass gets shoved causing a DQ. After the match, Owens and Jericho attack and beat down Cass. Owens hits a super kick on Cass and Jericho hits the Code Breaker.
Winner: Big Cass, by DQ.

- Backstage, Rusev attacks Roman Reigns and sends Reigns into a garage door. Rusev tries to put Reigns through the catering table, but WWE officials separate both men.

- The Prime Time Players vs. The Shining Stars: The match closes out with Titus suplexing Young on top of Primo for a near fall. Young hits a suplex of his own on Primo and then accidentally knocks Titus off the apron. Titus turns on Young and lays Young out with Clash Of The Titus. Primo covers and scores the pinfall.
Winner: The Shining Stars, by pinfall.

- Neville vs. Jinder Mahal: The match closes out with Mahal landing a drop kick and locking Neville in a rear chin lock. Neville hits a chin buster on Mahal and unloads a series of kicks. Neville hits the Red Arrow on Mahal and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Neville, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Mick Foley tells Stephanie McMahon that Jon Stewart will again be at Summer Slam. Seth Rollins interrupts and says since The Demon King isn't here than he should have the night off. Foley and Stephanie talk Rollins into going to the ring to call him out.

- Seth Rollins Promo: Rollins says he's been looking for The Demon King all night and calls him out again. The Demon King still no shows and Rollins says Finn Balor is afraid of Rollins. Rollins says The Demon King will have no choice but to bow down to The Man. The lights suddenly go out and Finn Balor's music hits. Balor appears and slowly makes his way to the ring painted up as his alter ego The Demon King. Balor and Rollins trade punches and kicks in the ring. Balor hits the Pele Kick and goes for the double foot stomp from the top rope. Rollins escapes to the floor and retreats.

- Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. Golden Truth: The match closes out with Goldust hitting a running bulldog on Anderson. Gallows distracts Goldust, allowing Anderson to hit Goldust with a knee to the back of his head. The Club hit their Magic Killer double team finisher on Goldust to score the pinfall. After the match, The New Day hit the ring and attack Gallows and Anderson. Woods goes to drive Francesca 2 into Anderson's groin, but Gallows pulls Anderson out of the ring to safety.

- Backstage, Charlotte tells Dana Brooke that she is a disappointment and she failed her.

- Charlotte vs. Alicia Fox: The match closes out with Charlotte making quick work of Alicia and hits Natural Selection for the pinfall. After the match, Charlotte calls out Sasha Banks, who comes to the ring. Dana Brooke tries to attack Sasha from behind, but gets taken out. Charlotte clips Sasha's leg from behind and locks Sasha in the Figure Eight submission.

- Roman Reigns vs. Rusev: The match closes out with Reigns blocking The Accolade submission, but misses the spear and gets chop blocked by Rusev. Rusev plants the thrust kick to the back of Reigns' head and then locks in The Accolade submission. Reigns fights out and reaches the ropes for the break. Rusev charges in for a clothesline, but Reigns ducks and hits the spear on Rusev to score the pinfall.
Winner: Roman Reigns, by pinfall.
