Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's time for this week's Smackdown Edition. New Year's Eve is upon us and WWE presents us with our very last Smackdown of 2015. It is also the last Smackdown on the SyFy Channel, as Smackdown makes the jump to the USA Network, next Thursday.
This Monday on RAW, Roman Reigns, will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Sheamus. But before that goes down, Reigns teamed up with his best friend, Dean Ambrose, and battled Sheamus and Kevin Owens in the main event of Smackdown. Let's get to this weeks Smackdown and say goodbye to 2015, as Smackdown took place in our nation's capital, Washington D.C.
- The New Day Promo: The New Day kick off Smackdown in the ring. The New Day say it's New Year's and New Day needs no resolutions cause they're already perfect. The only ones that need to make resolutions are the WWE Universe. The New Day demand that the WWE Universe make wearing hearing aids and glasses, writing in a New Day journal and singing New...Day Rocks every morning as part of their resolutions. The Lucha Dragons finally interrupt, Sin Cara is sporting an arm sling, but still challenges New Day to fight. The New Day remind Sin Cara that he's injured. Kalisto says no worries, cause they brought some friends to help. The Dudley Boys' music hits and we've got a Six Man Tag Team Match to kick off the show.
- "Six Man Tag Team Match": The New Day vs. The Dudley Boys and Kalisto: The match closes out with, Bubba hot tagging and laying out The New Day. Kalisto ducks a Big E charge and the Dudleys hit 3D on Big E. Kalisto tags in, hits a DDT on Kofi and finishes him with Salida Del Sol for the pinfall. After the match, Bubba gets his hands on Woods, puts him through a table and wishes everyone a Happy New Year.
Winners: The Dudley Boys and Kalisto, by pinfall. - Goldust vs. Tyler Breeze (w/Summer Rae): The match closes out with, Breeze sending Goldust head first into the turnbuckles and scores the pinfall on Goldust with his feet on the ropes for leverage. After the match, Summer Rae announces that she and Breeze have decided to go their separate ways for 2016 and celebrate with one last selfie together.
Winner: Tyler Breeze, by pinfall. - Backstage, Curtis Axel says his New Year's Resolution is winning the Royal Rumble and main eventing Axelmania. Bo Dallas says Axel needs to buy deodorant. Dolph Ziggler arrives, makes fun of Bo, tells Bo to get ready for their match tonight and all Bo has to do is Bo-Lieve.
- The Usos vs. Luke Harper and Braun Strowman: The match closes out with Jey hitting a samoan drop and a Rikishi Splash on Harper for a near fall. Harper goes to the floor, Jey ducks a Strowman clothesline and hits a suicide dive on Harper. Jimmy plants two Uso Kicks, but with no effect on Strowman. Rowan tries to interfere, but eats a Jimmy Uso Kick. Jimmy goes for a third Uso Kick on Strowman, but Strowman catches Jimmy's leg and locks Jimmy in the Bear Hug/Sleeper submission. Jimmy gets choked out and The Wyatt Family are victorious.
Winners: The Wyatt Family, by submission. - It's announced that John Cena will be on next week's Smackdown when it debuts on the USA Network.
- Tamina and Naomi vs. Brie Bella and Alicia Fox: The match closes out with, Brie hitting Naomi with a missile drop kick and connecting with Yes Kicks. Brie hits a running knee, sending Tamina to the floor. Brie dodges Naomi with the Rear View and counters a Naomi bulldog, sending Naomi into the corner. Brie hits the Bella Buster on Naomi and scores the pinfall.
Winners: Brie Bella and Alicia Fox, by pinfall. - Bo Dallas vs. Dolph Ziggler: The match closes out with, Bo Dallas in command of the match. Bo hits Ziggler with a series of back elbows, lands a punch on Ziggler and gets a near fall suplex. Bo wastes time doing a victory lap, eats a Ziggler super kick and Ziggler scores the pinfall.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler, by pinfall. - Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose vs. Sheamus and Kevin Owens: The match closes out with, Ambrose sending Sheamus into the ring post and rebound clotheslining Owens. Reigns hits a samoan drop on Sheamus and an uppercut on Owens. Reigns hits the Superman Punch on Sheamus, but gets grabbed and tossed into the ring post by Owens, causing a DQ. After the match, Sheamus tosses Reigns into the steel steps and then over the announcers table. Ambrose lands punches on Sheamus, but gets super kicked by Owens. Owens sets Ambrose up for a power bomb through the announcers table, but Reigns makes the save with a Superman Punch on Owens. Ambrose tosses Sheamus into the ring post and Reigns drills Sheamus with a spear to end the show.
Winners: Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, by DQ.
