Leadoff with Lee 5.5.14


-After winning the first two of a three game series, the Tribe lost to the White Sox 4-3 on Sunday. Corey Kluber was lights out through 8 innings, striking out 13 and at one point set a team record by striking out 7 in a row. The Indians had a 3-1 lead heading into the top of the 9th inning. Closer John Axford came in and tried to record his 10th save of the season. With 2 runners on, Chicago's Dayan Viciedo hit the 3 run shot to put the Sox ahead 4-3. The Indians start a 4 game series at home against the Minnesota Twins tonight starting at 7:05pm.

-Over the weekend, the Browns picked up Phil Taylor's 5th year of his rookie contract. The deal will secure Taylor $5.5 million dollars entering into the 2015 NFL season. The Browns are still trying to hammer out a deal with cornerback Joe Haden. With Seattle's Richard Sherman due a new contract, expect Haden to sign after Sherman to ensure he gets his fair market value.

-It took the Spurs 7 games but they defeated their in state rivals the Dallas Mavericks 129-96 I'm San Antonio yesterday. Tim Parker led the Spurs with 32 points. Dirk Nowitzki scored 22 for Dallas. The Spurs will face the Clippers on Wednesday in the western conference semi-finals.

-Is Brooklyn is the house! Yes and beat the Toronto Raptors with a nail biting score of 104-103. Joe Johnson scored 15 of his 26 in the 4th quarter. Kyle Lowery led the Raptors in scoring with 28. The Nets will face Miami in the eastern conference semi-finals on Tuesday.
