Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 8/8/17: RAW Toronto Recap

You all know what time it is! It's the first big wrestling event of the week!! It's Monday Night RAW, live from north of the border in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. RAW already had a huge show lined up for us before going on the air. Roman Reigns was set to battle Braun Strowman in a Last Man Standing Match. Also we found out whether or not Bayley could go for WWE SummerSlam after injuring her shoulder last week against Nia Jax. 

** This Weeks Card **

- Seth Rollins battled WWE RAW World Tag Team Champion Sheamus.
- Jason Jordan battled Jean Pierre Goulet.
- Sasha Banks, Alicia Fox and Emma battled in a Triple Threat Match.
- Big Show and Enzo battled Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
- Dean Ambrose battled WWE RAW World Tag Team Champion Cesaro.
- Akira Tozawa battled Ariya Daivari.
- Dana Brooke, Nia Jax and Mickie James battled in a Triple Threat Match. 
- Roman Reigns battled Braun Strowman in a Last Man Standing Match.

- WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Maryse and The Miztourage returned with Miz TV. Tonight's show had a very special guest.

- Bayley gives us an update on her shoulder injury.

- The Finn Balor/Bray Wyatt feud continues.

** RAW **

- Miz TV with The Miz, Maryse and The Miztourage: Miz immediately calls out Jason Jordan because he's sick of the disrespect he gets weekly. RAW GM Kurt Angle interrupts instead and says Jordan will not be a guest tonight on Miz TV, but he will fight Curtis Axel tonight. Angle then announces a very special guest for The Miz tonight. Brock Lesnar's music hits and out comes Lesnar and Paul Heyman. The Miz mocks Lesnar, stating Lesnar will probably lose his title at WWE SummerSlam and then take his ball and go home. Heyman compares Miz and The Miztourage to Lesnar's three opponents at WWE SummerSlam and then Lesnar suddenly explodes and attacks all three. Lesnar destroys all three men with german suplexes and F5's before finally leaving the whole Miztourage laid out to end the segment.



- Seth Rollins vs. Sheamus: The match closes out with Rollins hitting a Slingblade on Sheamus and then knocks Cesaro off the apron. Cesaro again distracts Rollins, allowing Sheamus to roll up Rollins and score the pinfall.
Winner: Sheamus, by pinfall.

- After the match, Rollins hits a suicide dive on Sheamus and Cesaro. Sheamus and Cesaro over power Rollins and beat him down. Sheamus and Cesaro look around for Dean Ambrose, but Ambrose no shows. Sheamus and Cesaro hit a double team White Noise on Rollins and leave Rollins laid out to end the segment.

- Backstage, Dean Ambrose tells Seth Rollins that now Ambrose looks like a jerk for not helping Rollins. Rollins demands to know what he has to do to earn Ambrose's trust again. Ambrose says he's not sticking around long enough to figure it out.

- Backstage, Kurt Angle is informed that Curtis Axel can't wrestle due to the Brock Lesnar attack earlier. Angle finds an unknown wrestler named Jean Pierre Goulet and tells him to replace Axel.

- Jason Jordan vs. John Pierre Goulet: The match closes out with Goulet trying to take control, but Jordan sends Goulet into the corner. Jordan tosses Goulet, unloads some offense and then hits the neck breaker to score the pinfall.
Winner: Jason Jordan, by pinfall.

- Bayley Promo: Bayley says she hasn't gone back and watched her injury on replay and she felt her shoulder pop when it happened. She was looking forward to facing Alexa Bliss at WWE SummerSlam, but instead has sat at home depressed all week. Bayley thanks the fans that cheered her up with tweets and tells the fans that are booing her that her thanks goes to the ones that support her, not them. Bayley then predicts that Sasha Banks will go on to battle Alexa Bliss at WWE SummerSlam.

- "Triple Threat Match, Winner Advances To The #1 Contenders Match": Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox vs. Emma: The match closes out with Sasha tossing Emma to the floor and then gets a near fall rollup on Alicia. Sasha counters an Alicia scissors kick with a backstabber into the Banks Statement submission. Emma breaks up the submission, but ends up getting trapped in the Banks Statement submission herself and taps out.
Winner: Sasha Banks, by submission.

- Backstage, Braun Strowman says he loves hurting Roman Reigns, he's broken Reigns' body and tonight he breaks Reigns' spirit, as Strowman will remain as the last monster standing.

- Enzo and Big Show Promo: Enzo gives props to Big Show for knocking out Big Cass last week and Show figures Cass' jaw is still hurting. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson interrupt and call Enzo and Big Show two nerds that have yet to beat The Good Brothers, before getting their tag match started.

- Enzo and Big Show vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson: The match closes out with Big Cass appearing on the stage to watch the match. Gallows catches Show distracted and boots him off the apron. The Club goes for the Magic Killer on Enzo, but Enzo escapes. Anderson boots Enzo in the face and scores the pinfall.
Winners: The Club, by pinfall.

- After the match, Cass hits a Big Boot on Show and then ground and pounds him on the floor. Enzo suicide dives on Cass and tries to attack, but gets tossed into the barricade. Cass stalks Enzo around ringside, but Cass walks right into a Show Knockout Punch out of nowhere. Show asks Cass "How You Doin'?" as he helps Enzo up to end the segment.

- Finn Balor Promo: Balor talks about Bray Wyatt. Balor says Bray is the type that's more worried about stalking his opponents then he is wins or losses. Balor says he learned a long time ago to stand up and kick fear in the face and promises to finish what Bray has started. The Wyatt Family graphic flashes and out go the lights. The lights are on and Bray is in the ring with Balor. Balor rolls through a Bray charge and lands a kick on Bray. Balor hits a Slingblade on Bray as the lights are out again. The lights are back on and Bray is now on the TitanTron. Bray says that the fans enjoy Balor because when Balor flies, so do the fans. Bray promises to snatch Balor out of the sky and the fans will fall too.

- Cesaro vs. Dean Ambrose: The match closes out with Cesaro applying the Sharpshooter submission on Ambrose, until Ambrose escapes. Ambrose tosses Cesaro outside and hits the flying elbow on Cesaro. Sheamus tries to distract Ambrose, but it backfires allowing Ambrose to get the rollup pinfall on Cesaro.
Winner: Dean Ambrose, by pinfall.

- After the match, Sheamus and Cesaro beat down Ambrose, but Seth Rollins hits the ring. Rollins takes out Sheamus and Cesaro and tosses them both to the floor. Rollins and Ambrose stare each other down until Ambrose extends the Shield fist bump. Rollins ignores the fist bump and leaves the ring.

- Backstage, Titus O'Neil brags that the WWE Cruiserweight Championship is coming to Titus Worldwide. Neville interrupts and says that it's a risky move for Akira Tozawa to be wrestling Ariya Daivari tonight when Daivari has nothing to lose.

- Akira Tozawa vs. Ariya Daivari: The match closes out with Daivari unloading on Tozawa, but Tozawa counters and hits a suplex. Tozawa goes to the top rope and hits a senton and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Akira Tozawa, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Roman Reigns says he doesn't care if Brock Lesnar stays or leaves the WWE. He retired The Undertaker, he'll take great pleasure in sending Lesnar packing. Reigns then hypes his match with Braun Strowman tonight and says he's leaving Strowman laid out.

- "Triple Threat Match, Winner Advances To The #1 Contenders Match": Mickie James vs. Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax: The match closes out with Mickie leaping on Nia for a near fall. Nia tosses Mickie outside and then attacks Dana. Nia shoves Dana down and then hits a leg drop for the pinfall.
Winner: Nia Jax, by pinfall.

- We get a video of Goldust cutting a promo. Goldust says he has more love to give to the WWE Universe. Goldust says he can't wait to share his next masterpiece with us because the golden age is back.

- Backstage, Big Cass tells Kurt Angle that he wants Big Show at WWE SummerSlam, but wants Enzo banned from the match. Angle agrees to the match and says Enzo will be locked in a shark cage and suspended above the ring instead of being banned from the match.

- "Last Man Standing Match": Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman: The match closes out with Reigns lifting Strowman and hitting a Samoan Drop through a table. Reigns charges Strowman outside, but gets a desk chair thrown in his face. Strowman and Reigns brawl through the crowd over to the announcers table. Reigns hits a Drive By on Strowman on the stage, putting Strowman down on one knee. Strowman and Reigns brawl on the stage where Reigns gets tossed into the LED board.
Reigns beats the count and the match continues. Reigns counters Strowman putting him through the announcers table and hits Strowman with two straight Superman Punches. Reigns goes for the spear, but eats a boot from Strowman. Strowman walks down the ramp, turns around and gets run down by a huge running spear by Reigns. Reigns is up at 7, but suddenly Samoa Joe grabs Reigns from the front row and locks Reigns in the Coquina Clutch submission. Joe chokes Reigns out right next to Strowman who's still down. The referee counts with Strowman just beating the 10 count to win the match.
Winner: Braun Strowman.
