Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 8/17/17: NXT Recap

NXT returned this week for more NXT action at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. This week's show brought us the go home show to this Saturday night's Takeover: Brooklyn 3 event.

** NXT TV Card **

- The Street Profits battled Lars Sullivan and Chris Silvio.
- Ruby Riot battled Billie Kay.
- Roderick Strong battled Drew McIntyre.

- Asuka and Ember Moon met for their Takeover: Brooklyn 3 Contract Signing.

** NXT **

- Asuka vs. Ember Moon Takeover: Brooklyn 3 Contract Signing: William Regal is present with the contract, the champion and the challenger. Ember praises Asuka's run at being undefeated and surpassing Goldberg's streak. Ember says the down side is Ember has been the only wrestler that Asuka took short cuts against and tried to avoid. Ember promises to end Asuka's streak on Saturday. Both ladies sign the contract, Asuka yells at Ember in Japanese and then holds up her title to end the segment.

- Backstage, Lars Sullivan interrupts William Regal and begs for another chance with a tag team match. Regal gives Sullivan another chance, but tells him he can't beat up his partner in the ring if they lose.

- The Street Profits vs. Lars Sullivan and Chris Silvio: The match closes out with Silvio being dominated by the Street Profits. Ford gets a cheap shot in on Sullivan. Ford and Dawkins hit a power bomb/frog splash combo on Silvio and scores the pinfall.
Winners: The Street Profits, by pinfall.

- After the match, Sullivan grabs Silvio and carries him all the way outside the arena. Sullivan unloads on Silvio and then slams him into a garbage dumpster.

- Billie Kay vs. Ruby Riot: The match closes out with Ruby unloading a series of kicks on Billie. Billie traps Ruby in the corner, but Ruby catches her and sends her into the turnbuckle. Ruby with an upside down kick on Billie and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Ruby Riot, by pinfall.

- Roderick Strong vs. Drew McIntyre: The match closes out with McIntyre hitting a reverse Alabama Slam for a near fall. Strong counters the Claymore with a knee on McIntyre. Strong with another knee and then he goes to the top rope. McIntyre cuts off Strong and lands a head butt. Bobby Roode suddenly hits the ring and attacks Strong and McIntyre.
Winner: No Contest

- After the match, Roode hits the Glorious DDT on McIntyre and blows a kiss at Strong. Roode gives us a GLOOOORIOOOOUUUSSSSS! to end the show.
