Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 8/22/17: RAW Brooklyn Recap

The beginning of the work week is here, but that also means a new week in professional wrestling is upon us! Sunday night, WWE held their hottest show of the summer, WWE SummerSlam. We had some new champions crowned from RAW and the reign of Brock Lesnar continues on as he survived his Fatal Four Way Match. Next up for RAW is WWE No Mercy which takes place in one months time. What new feuds are ahead as RAW was live at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

** This Weeks Card **

- Big Cass battled Enzo in a Brooklyn Street Fight Match.
- Nia Jax battled Emma.
- Elias Samson battled R-Truth. 
- Drew Gulak, Noam Dar, Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese battled Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali and Gran Metalik in an Eight Man Tag Team Match.
- WWE RAW World Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose battled The Hardy Boys in a non title match. 
- Finn Balor battled Jason Jordan.
- John Cena and Roman Reigns battled WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Samoa Joe.

- WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman get a new challenger step up to them.

- RAW GM Kurt Angle has a surprise for the fans.

- WWE RAW World Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose celebrate their title win. 

- WWE RAW Women's Champion Sasha Banks celebrates her title win.

** RAW **

- Brock Lesnar Promo: Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman hit the ring to start RAW. Heyman talks about SummerSlam, the conspiracy against Lesnar and how for the first time ever Lesnar was stretchered out. Heyman mentions Lesnar coming back, beating Roman Reigns and says there isn't anyone in WWE or UFC that can touch Lesnar. Braun Strowman interrupts and heads to the ring. Strowman attempts a choke slam, but Lesnar escapes. Strowman hits a big boot and the running power slam, putting Lesnar down. Strowman hits a second running power slam on Lesnar and then celebrates with the WWE Universal Championship, as Heyman looks on, shocked.

- "Brooklyn Street Fight Match": Big Cass vs. Enzo: The match closes out with Cass dominating Enzo. Cass goes for the Big Boot, but Enzo moves causing Cass to fall outside and hurt his knee. Enzo grabs a steel chair as Cass attempts the Empire Elbow. Cass goes down again grabbing his knee and the referee calls off the match.
Winner: Enzo, by stoppage.

- Backstage, Emma says she's sick of hearing about Sasha Banks and we need to watch what she does to Nia Jax tonight. Nia appears behind Emma while she mocks Nia. Nia says Emma's hashtag tonight will be #GiveEmmaCPR.

- Nia Jax vs. Emma: The match closes out with Nia splashing Emma in the corner, but misses a second attempt. Emma with a drop kick, but gets caught in mid air by Nia and planted with a Samoan Drop. Nia covers and gets the squash pinfall.
Winner: Nia Jax, by pinfall.

- Elias Samson is in the ring with his guitar and is going to sing about his opponent R-Truth. Samson mocks Truth in his song, when suddenly Truth interrupts and both men go one on one right now.

- Elias Samson vs. R-Truth: The match closes out with Truth hitting a heel kick and unloads on Samson in the corner. Samson comes back, lands a kick and hits Drift Away on Truth for the pinfall.
Winner: Elias Samson, by pinfall.

- Kurt Angle Promo: Angle says he promised us a surprise and introduces John Cena. Cena says he accepted Angle's invitation to come to RAW so he could go face to face with one certain man. Roman Reigns interrupts and heads to the ring. Cena says Reigns was exactly who he was looking for. Reigns says Cena is in his yard now if he has something to say he needs to say it to his face. Cena takes off his shirt and gets ready to fight Reigns when The Miztourage suddenly interrupt. Miz mocks Cena and Reigns and says he's sick of waiting for his moment while Cena and Reigns get there's non stop. Miz asks Angle why do they need Cena on RAW when The Miz is right here. Miz continues to mock Cena and Reigns and again demands to know where his moment is for the 12 years of his dedication he's given to the WWE. Cena tells Miz that if he wants his moment than he and one of his lackeys can battle Cena and Reigns tonight. Samoa Joe suddenly interrupts and heads to the ring. Joe says if anyone is going to be Miz's partner it's going to be Joe. Joe says he's sick of Reigns claiming the ring as his yard. Joe then catches Cena off guard and attacks. Joe unloads on Cena as Reigns takes out Dallas and Axel. Reigns catches Miz and tosses him on top of Dallas and Axel. Joe counters a AA and locks Cena in the Coquina Clutch submission. Reigns hits a Superman Punch on Joe, leaving he and Cena standing alone to end the segment.

- "Eight Man Tag Team Match": Drew Gulak, Noam Dar, Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese vs. Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali and Gran Metalik: The match closes out with Metalik moonsaulting to the floor on Gulak and Daivari. Alexander lands a kick on Nese and then hits the Lumbar Check for the pinfall.
Winners: Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali, Gran Metalik and Rich Swann, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Neville talks about winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Akira Tozawa and Titus O'Neil interrupt and demand a rematch.

- Backstage, Jason Jordan tells Kurt Angle he doesn't want special treatment, but he wants to wrestle Finn Balor tonight. Angle makes the match official.

- Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins Promo: Rollins talks about how great things feel right now. Ambrose admits he never thought this would happen. Rollins says it's time to celebrate and everyone is invited, except for Sheamus and Cesaro. The Hardy Boys interrupt and head to the ring. Jeff Hardy wants to congratulate Rollins and Ambrose. Matt Hardy says it's a beautiful thing when brothers are on the same page and then they issue a challenge to Rollins and Ambrose. Rollins says it would be an honor and accepts the challenge.

- Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose vs. The Hardy Boys: The match closes out with Jeff hitting Twist of Fate on Ambrose. Jeff goes for the Swanton Bomb, but Ambrose gets his knees up. Jeff counters Dirty Deeds, but Rollins is in and hits the leaping knee on Jeff. Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds on Jeff and scores the pinfall.
Winners: Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Samoa Joe takes charge, tells Dallas and Axel to stand guard at ringside, tells Miz just be annoying like he usually is and Joe will destroy everyone.

- Sasha Banks Promo: Sasha says the world doesn't need a fake goddess they need a boss. Sasha says she'll defend her title fairly and won't need someone to watch her back except for the fans. Alexa Bliss interrupts on the RAW stage. Alexa mocks Sasha's four title reigns and Sasha dares Alexa to use her rematch clause right now. Alexa says no because Brooklyn doesn't deserve it. Alexa says she'll request her rematch for next week to end the segment.

- Jason Jordan vs. Finn Balor: The match closes out with Jordan sending Balor into the corner, but misses a running shoulder, as Balor lands a kick. Balor drops Jordan with Sling Blade then drop kicks him in the corner. Balor goes to the top rope and hits Coup de Grace for the pinfall.
Winner: Finn Balor, by pinfall.


- John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. The Miz and Samoa Joe: The match closes out with Miz dodging the Five Knuckle Shuffle as Joe hits the ring. Joe traps Cena in the Coquina Clutch submission. Reigns goes for the Superman Punch, but accidentally hits Cena. Joe runs the ropes but eats a punch from Reigns. Joe and Reigns fall outside as Miz goes for the Skull Crushing Finale on Cena. Cena counters it, hits the AA and scores the pinfall on Miz.
Winners: John Cena and Roman Reigns, by pinfall.

- After the match, Reigns tells Cena "my bad" about the Superman Punch. Cena and Reigns stare each other down to end the show.
