Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 8/24/17: NXT Recap

NXT returned this week for more NXT action at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. We are one week removed from NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 3. The Drew McIntyre Era begins as McIntyre defeated Bobby Roode to become the new NXT World Champion.

** NXT TV Card **

- Peyton Royce battled Sarah Logan.
- WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne and Wolfgang battled Tyler Bate and Trent Seven.

** NXT **

- No Way Jose kicked off the show dancing to the ring when suddenly Lars Sullivan jumps Jose from behind and beats him down. Jose is left laid out by Sullivan to end the segment.

- Backstage, Johnny Gargano is asked about his loss to Andrade "Cien" Almas at Takeover: Brooklyn 3. Gargano says he takes full credit, makes no excuses for his loss and knows people still believe in him.

- News on Asuka's collar bone injury that she suffered at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 3 are revealed. Asuka is expected to be out 6 to 8 weeks.

- Backstage, Pete Dunne and Wolfgang are asked about the UK division. Dunne says he owns the division. Wolfgang says he wants a future WWE United Kingdom Championship Match.

- Peyton Royce vs. Sarah Logan: The match closes out with Billie Kay trying to help out Peyton. Sarah gets a near fall rollup on Peyton. Peyton catches Sarah and nails the Fisherman's Suplex to score the pinfall.
Winner: Peyton Royce, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Bobby Roode says NXT will see him soon because he has unfinished business with Roderick Strong and he doesn't leave unfinished business.

- Backstage, Aleister Black is asked about his victory over Hideo Itami at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 3. Black says nothing and keeps walking.

- Tyler Bate and Trent Seven vs. Wolfgang and Pete Dunne: The match closes out with Bate hitting a lariat on Dunne. Bate with the airplane spin on Dunne and gets a near fall. Wolfgang blind tags Dunne as Bate hit the Tyler Driver 97. Wolfgang hits a senton on Bate and scores the pinfall.
Winners: Pete Dunne and Wolfgang, by pinfall.
