Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 1/26/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT was the go home show to this Saturday night's NXT Takeover: San Antonio event. Ember Moon battled Liv Morgan to kick off this week's NXT in Women's Division action. No Way Jose battled Kona Reeves in one on one action. Eric Young battled Chris Atkins in one on one action. NXT Women's Champion Asuka has a face to face with Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay before their match at NXT Takeover: San Antonio.

** NXT **

- Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan: The match closes out with Liv unloading punches, a drop kick and a near fall bulldog on Ember. Liv applies a guillotine choke submission, but Ember powers out and tosses Liv to the floor. Ember takes control of the match and hits the O Face Stunner on Liv to score the pinfall.
Winner: Ember Moon, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Andrade "Cien" Almas mocks Roderick Strong. Strong interrupts and dares Almas to do something. Almas walks off, but then attacks Strong unexpectedly and beats Strong down.

- No Way Jose vs. Kona Reeves: The match closes out with Reeves hitting a Samoan Drop and then an elbow drop on Jose. Jose unloads on Reeves with punches and chops, but Reeves plants a kick in return. Reeves irish whips Jose, but Jose counters and hits the pop up punch on Reeves for the pinfall. After the match, Elias Samson interrupts by singing a song for Jose. Jose says his song sucks and he has a better song for him. Jose gets the fans to chant "Just Drift Away". Samson gets on the apron, but catches a Jose punch and decides to retreat instead. 
Winner: No Way Jose, by pinfall.

- Chris Atkins vs. Eric Young: The match closes out with Atkins hitting a shoulder on EY, but EY shoves Atkins into the corner. EY does a lifting choke on Atkins in the corner and then hits the wheel barrel slam for the pinfall. After the match, Big Damo hits a running senton on Atkins as EY sends a warning to Tye Dillinger that Dillinger should've joined SAnitY.
Winner: Eric Young, by pinfall.

- Asuka, Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay NXT Women's Championship Face To Face: Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are in the ring first. Peyton and Billie say that they've shown what they can do to Asuka, and Nikki Cross is just crazy. Nikki Cross and Asuka are both out next and Peyton and Billie retreat. Nikki and Asuka go face to face, but they get jumped by Peyton and Billie. Nikki and Asuka unload on Peyton and Billie, chase them off and then go back to having their face to face stare down. NXT Security hit the ring, however, Asuka and Nikki unload on them and clear them from the ring. Asuka lays out Nikki with a spin kick until getting dragged outside of the ring by security. Nikki flies off the top rope and takes out Asuka and all the security guards as Peyton and Billie look on worried to end the show.
