Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 1/10/17: RAW New Orleans Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you the RAW Recap for the week.

This week RAW was live in New Orleans, Louisiana. The biggest story of the night was the special appearances by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns defended the title in a Handicap Match against WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Seth Rollins battled Braun Strowman one on one. Jack Gallagher battled Drew Gulak in one on one Cruiserweight Division action. Big Cass battled Jinder Mahal in one on one action. Lince Dorado battled Neville in Cruiserweight Division action. Luke Gallows battled WWE RAW World Tag Team Champion Sheamus in one on one action. Bayley and Sasha Banks battled WWE RAW Women's Champion Charlotte and Nia Jax in Women's Division tag team action. Titus O'Neil battled Kofi Kingston of The New Day one on one.

** RAW **

- Backstage, Stephaine McMahon says the fans expect them to deliver with The Undertaker tonight. Mick Foley has no evidence of Undertaker being here. Seth Rollins interrupts and puts himself in the Royal Rumble match. Braun Strowman interrupts and wants either Roman Reigns or Goldberg tonight. Rollins says Goldberg isn't here and Reigns has a match, but he'll offer assistance and punches Strowman. Rollins and Strowman brawl until WWE Officials separate both men.

- "WWE United States Championship, Handicap Match": Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho: The match never starts as Braun Strowman hits the ring and helps Owens and Jericho beat down Reigns. Seth Rollins hits the ring with a steel chair and unloads on Strowman, Owens and Jericho. Reigns is back in with a steel chair and helps Rollins double team Strowman with chair shots. Stephanie McMahon interrupts and announces Rollins vs. Strowman right now and the WWE United States Championship Handicap Match will take place later tonight.
Winner: No Contest

- Seth Rollins vs. Braun Strowman: The match closes out with Rollins hitting the Frog Splash on Strowman and gets a near fall. Strowman goes outside where Rollins knees Strowman in the face. Rollins leaps off the top rope at Strowman, misses and hits the barricade. Strowman beats down Rollins and tosses him over the barricade. The referee ends up counting both men out to end the match. After the match, Strowman grabs a steel chair, but Rollins kicks it into Strowman's leg and grabs it from him. Strowman escapes and retreats as Rollins swings the chair, keeping Strowman out of the ring.
Winner: Double Countout

- Drew Brees, Quarterback of the New Orleans Saints is shown in the crowd with his kids.

- Backstage, Bayley tells Sasha Banks that she's beaten Charlotte before and can do it again. Sasha says she has Bayley's back if Charlotte tries anything. Charlotte interrupts and thinks it's funny that Sasha is pretending that she cares about Bayley. Nia Jax suddenly appears and takes out Sasha with a kick to her injured knee. Charlotte meanwhile beats down Bayley. Charlotte and Nia stand alone, but Nia sends a message to Charlotte by shoving her into a stack of production cases.

- Jack Gallagher vs. Drew Gulak: The match closes out with Gallagher hitting a head butt on Gulak sending him into the corner. Gallagher charges and hits a running dropkick on Gulak to score the pinfall. After the match, Gallagher offers Ariya Daivari to settle their feud peacefully at 205 Live on Tuesday night or else they will be forced to engage in fisticuffs.
Winner: Jack Gallagher, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Stephaine McMahon tells Mick Foley that his whole Performance Review is riding on The Undertaker being here tonight. Foley promises that Undertaker will be here.

- Shawn Micheals Promo: Michaels mentions the Royal Rumble being in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas and all the memories he has of the Royal Rumble. Michaels hypes up this year's event as the fans chant "One More Match". Michaels says he won't be pressured into the fans' chants and is here tonight to promote his new movie The Resurrection of Gavin Stone. Rusev, Jinder Mahal and Lana suddenly interrupt and head to the ring. Rusev says Michaels' movie will suck because Lana isn't in it. Enzo and Big Cass interrupt next, Enzo still in his motorized wheelchair. Rusev threatens to put both Cass and Michaels in a wheelchair next to Enzo. Cass gets in Rusev's face and dares him to face him right now. Rusev accepts....but Cass can fight Mahal instead. Michaels says he's staying at ringside to watch this match.

- Big Cass vs. Jinder Mahal: The match closes out with Cass hitting a splash on Mahal and then follows that with a corner splash. Rusev tries to distract Cass by going after Enzo. Michaels makes the save by hitting Sweet Chin Music on Rusev. Cass hits the East River Crossing and then the Empire Elbow on Mahal to score the pinfall.
Winner: Big Cass, by pinfall. 

- Lince Dorado vs. Neville: The match closes out with Dorado taking Neville out on the floor. Dorado gets a near fall cross body on Neville. Neville gets in a cheap shot on Dorado and makes Dorado tap out in a Rings of Saturn submission lock. After the match, Neville reapplies the submission and keeps it locked on until Rich Swann hits the ring and unloads on Neville. Neville escapes to the floor and retreats.
Winner: Neville, by submission. 

- Backstage, Bayley and Sasha Banks demand a match against Nia Jax and Charlotte for next week from Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie makes the match for tonight and says she doesn't care if both Bayley and Sasha aren't 100%.

- Luke Gallows vs. Sheamus: Cesaro and Karl Anderson are on commentary. The match closes out with, Sheamus hitting a top rope clothesline for a near fall on Gallows. Anderson and Cesaro meanwhile start brawling at the announcers table and out onto the RAW stage. Gallows gets distracted and ends up eating a Brogue Kick from Sheamus, allowing Sheamus to score the pinfall.
Winner: Sheamus, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Mick Foley is still looking for The Undertaker.

- Backstage, Roman Reigns says he's confident that he will defeat Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho tonight and retain the WWE United States Championship.

- Mick Foley Promo: Mick talks about his history with The Undertaker, says he needs Taker to appear now one more time for one last encounter. The lights go out, but they pop back on and out comes Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie apologizes, but Mick has given her no choice but to give Mick his Performance Review in front of everyone. Stephanie says Mick has failed to deliver The Undertaker, lists all his RAW failures and asks what he thinks should be done about it. Undertaker's gong hits and the lights suddenly go out. The Undertaker appears and heads to the ring. Taker says he's back, he's officially entering the Royal Rumble match, he answers to no one and will go as he pleases and do whatever he wants. Taker says he's dug 29 holes for the 29 Royal Rumble souls and he will go on to Wrestlemania 33 and main event. Taker says if anyone gets in his way, then they will REST....IN....PEACE.

- Backstage, WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho hype their match against WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns and predict one of them are winning the WWE United States Championship tonight.

- Bayley and Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte and Nia Jax: The match closes out with Charlotte grounding Bayley and keeping control. Nia tags in and slams Bayley to the canvas. Nia charges at Sasha and sends her flying off the apron. Nia and Charlotte double team Bayley until Bayley fights back. Bayley rolls up Charlotte, but Nia tags in and attacks Bayley. Nia slams Bayley and then hits the leg drop to score the pinfall.
Winners: Charlotte and Nia Jax, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Alicia Fox confronts Noam Dar and he thinks she's going to slap him again. Fox instead kisses him and then says that Cedric Alexander was right....Dar can't handle a real woman.

- The New Day Promo: The New Day call out Titus O'Neil and claim to have a special offer for him. Titus comes out, apologizes to The New Day and asks to join their faction again. The New Day show footage of Titus screwing up his keg run back in NXT in 2010 and offer him a chance to redeem himself. Kofi reveals a keg full of Booty Juice and puts 12.7 seconds on the clock. Titus picks up the keg, runs around the ring and crosses the finish line with .6 seconds left. Titus, however, dropped the keg before he crossed the finish line and The New Day make fun of Titus for screwing up again. Titus shoves Kofi and Kofi says he's about to put a hurting on Titus.

- Titus O'Neil vs. Kofi Kingston: The match closes out with Titus placing Kofi on the turnbuckle and delivers some slaps. Kofi tries a cross body, but Titus catches him and dumps Kofi. Woods and Big E get involved and distract Titus from the outside. Kofi drops Titus with Trouble in Paradise and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Kofi Kingston, by pinfall.

- "WWE United States Championship, Handicap Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho: The match closes out with Reigns hitting a spear on Jericho for a near fall, as Owens makes the save. Reigns misses a Drive By on Owens and gets super kicked. Reigns counters an Owens power bomb and back drops Owens on the floor. Reigns hits the Drive By on Owens and then a Superman Punch on Jericho. Reigns trys to get back in the ring, but Owens holds onto Reigns' leg. Jericho hits a Code Breaker on Reigns and then Owens apron power bombs Reigns. Jericho and Owens drag Reigns back into the ring where Jericho hits another Code Breaker on Reigns and scores the pinfall to win the title.
Winner: Chris Jericho, by pinfall, to win the WWE United States Championship.
