Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 7.8.16: SmackDown Results

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your Smackdown Recap Edition.  

This week's Smackdown took place in Toledo, Ohio. #1 contender Seth Rollins battled Jey Uso in a one on one match. Sheamus battled Zack Ryder in one on one action. The Becky Lynch and Nattie Neidhart war continued. AJ Styles of The Club battled Enzo in one on one action. WWE Intercontinental champion The Miz battled Kalisto in a one on one non-title match. WWE officially announced Brock Lesnar's opponent at Summer Slam. In the main event it was Chris Jericho battling Sami Zayn in a one on one match.

*** Smackdown ***

- Backstage, Chris Jericho is looking for his missing blue scarf, but no one knows where it is. Jericho plans to take out Sami Zayn tonight because he's been a thorn in Jericho's side. Sami Zayn interrupts and informs Jericho that he's losing tonight to Zayn and Jericho will become the second best in the world.

- Backstage, Seth Rollins makes fun of Roman Reigns' suspension to his cousin Jey Uso's face. Rollins says their whole family is a joke. Jey tells Rollins he talks too much and he sure is cocky for someone that held the WWE World Title for two minutes. Jey challenges Rollins to a match.

- Seth Rollins vs. Jey Uso: WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose arrives and is the special guest ring announcer. During the match Ambrose cracks jokes and makes fun of Rollins on the microphone. The match closes out with Jey missing the running corner splash, but counters and rolls through on a Rollins Pedigree attempt. Jey hits the Uso Kick on Rollins and goes for the top rope Uso Splash. Rollins blocks the splash by getting his knees up and plants Jey with a Pedigree to score the pinfall. Ambrose gets in the ring, but Rollins runs. Ambrose says he was just going to raise Rollins' hand, but Rollins isn't buying it.
Winner: Seth Rollins, by pinfall.

- Sheamus vs. Zack Ryder: The match closes out with Sheamus delivering forearms to the back of Ryder. Ryder slams Sheamus, goes to the top rope and hits the flying El-Bro on Sheamus. Ryder covers and scores the upset pinfall. After the match, Ryder says he's focused on winning back the WWE United States Championship from Rusev and challenges the Bulgarian Beast to a match on RAW.
Winner: Zack Ryder, by pinfall.

- WWE.Com Interview with Xavier Woods: Woods says he didn't mean what he said on RAW, Kofi and Big E are like his family, but they need to realize the dangerous situation they are in now with The Wyatt's. Woods says he'll join Kofi and Big E when they confront The Wyatt Family at their compound.

- Backstage, Rusev says Zack Ryder is out of his mind and gladly accepts Ryder's challenge for RAW. Rusev will prove that Ryder, just like his fellow Americans, is an ultimate loser.

- Nattie Neidhart Attacks Becky Lynch: Becky heads to the ring for a match, but gets attacked from behind by Nattie. Nattie rips off Becky's jacket, hits a lariat on Becky, tosses Becky into the barricade and into the steel steps and then locks Becky in the Sharpshooter submission. WWE Officials arrive to stop the attack.

- Enzo and Big Cass Promo: Cass says what they did on RAW had nothing to do with saving John Cena or having personal issues with The Club, it was simply a message being sent to The Club. They just can't do whatever they want. The Club arrive and interrupt. AJ Styles says Enzo and Cass disrupted their trademarked "Beat Up John Cena" party and now are about to beat up Enzo and Cass. Styles decides to back off from Cass and challenges Enzo to a match. Enzo accepts, says The Club isn't original and Styles is about to get knocked out by the Sugar Ray Robinson of the WWE. Cass spells out The Club as S-A-W-F-T.......SAAAWWWFFFTTT.

- AJ Styles vs. Enzo: The match closes out with Styles countering an Enzo DDT and hits a snap suplex. Styles talks trash to Cass outside, but gets dropped by Enzo. Enzo hits a leaping DDT on Styles as Karl Anderson jumps on the apron. Cass makes the save and drops both Anderson and Gallows with big boots. Styles drops Enzo crotch first on the ropes and hits Styles Clash for the pinfall.
Winner: AJ Styles, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Chris Jericho is still in search of his missing scarf and finds Kevin Owens wearing it. Owens wants to buy one for his wife. Jericho wants money to get it cleaned now. Owens hands Jericho a handful of change and a jolly rancher.

- The Miz vs. Kalisto: The match closes out with Kalisto hitting a spike hurricanrana on Miz for a near fall. Miz blocks the Salida Del Sol, but Kalisto gets a near fall rollup. Kalisto goes for a springboard corkscrew splash, but Miz dodges it. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on Kalisto and scores the pinfall.
Winner: The Miz, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Sasha Banks says she takes care of business and she proved Charlotte is all talk. Charlotte and Dana Brooke interrupt. Charlotte calls Sasha a dollar store Nikki Minaj knock off with costume jewelry. Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks is made for RAW and Charlotte calls herself the LeBron James of the Women's Division.

- WWE officially announces that it'll be Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton at this year's Summer Slam pay per view in August.

- Chris Jericho vs. Sami Zayn: Kevin Owens is on commentary for this match. The match closes out with Owens throwing a drink at Zayn and talks trash. Zayn throws Jericho into Owens before the action goes back in the ring. Owens jumps up on the apron and eats a Helluva Kick from Zayn. Jericho catches Zayn and goes for the Walls Of Jericho submission. Zayn counters, rolls up Jericho and steals the pinfall for the win. After the match, Jericho hits the Code Breaker on Zayn. Owens gets in the ring and ground and pounds Zayn on the mat. Owens plants Zayn with the pop up power bomb to end the show.
Winner: Sami Zayn, by pinfall.
