Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 6.3.16: Smackdown Results #SmackDown

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your Smackdown Recap Edition.  

This week's Smackdown took place in Rockford, Illinois. WWE Women's Champion, Charlotte battled Becky Lynch in a one on one non-title match. The Dudley Boys battled Golden Truth in tag team division action. Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose teamed up to battle Kevin Owens and Alberto Del Rio. WWE United States Champion, Rusev battled Jack Swagger in a one on one non-title match. In the main event, AJ Styles of The Club battled Kofi Kingston of The New Day in one on one action.

*** Smackdown ***

- The New Day Promo: The New Day talk about The Vaudevillains ruining Stephanie McMahon from twerking, the brand split and The Club attacking New Day. The Club interrupt and head to the ring. The Club say that they laid their path of destruction and while New Day play their games and dance, The Club will be the new tag team champions soon. AJ Styles arrives next and says everyone is talking about The Club beating down John Cena and Kofi Kingston has been in the WWE for 10 years and is still a joke. Kofi says he's a former WWE Intercontinental, United States and current Tag Team Champion and Styles is a joke for taking 10 years to make it to the WWE. Styles says he's facing Kofi tonight and hand delivering their message to The New Day.

- Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch: The match closes out with Charlotte getting a near fall power bomb on Becky. Charlotte misses a moonsault and gets a double leg take down blocked. Becky locks Charlotte in the Dis-Arm-Her submission, but Dana Brooke helps Charlotte reach the ropes. The referee catches Dana and DQ's Charlotte. After the match, Charlotte and Dana 2-on-1 attack Becky until Nattie Neidhart hits the ring and makes the save.
Winner: Becky Lynch, by DQ.

- Backstage, Dean Ambrose complains to Sami Zayn about the border patrol guy in Canada. Zayn says Ambrose shouldn't have tried to bring in nunchucks. Kevin Owens and Alberto Del Rio arrive. Owens tells Ambrose that Zayn is just manipulating him. Zayn tells Del Rio that his partner is the biggest snake in the WWE. Del Rio tells Zayn that he should worry about himself and Zayn is a paperboy.

- The Dudley Boys vs. The Golden Truth: Tyler Breeze and Fandango are in Breeze's VIP section at ringside. The match closes out with Goldust knocking Bubba off the apron and hitting a spine buster on Devon. Breeze takes a selfie on the apron and gets knocked off by Goldust. Goldust and Truth accidentally collide, causing Goldust to get rolled up for the pinfall by Devon. After the match, Breeze and Fandango mock Golden Truth, stating that they're out of luck and style.
Winners: The Dudley Boys, by pinfall.

- Baron Corbin Promo: Corbin says the WWE Universe doesn’t deserve to see Corbin in person and next time he sees Dolph Ziggler, he’ll leave him in a pile of broken bones and dreams.

- Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn vs. Alberto Del Rio and Kevin Owens: The match closes out with Del Rio going for a side kick, but Ambrose counters with a swinging neck breaker. Ambrose goes for the Dirty Deeds, but Del Rio counters and tosses Ambrose into the corner. Del Rio accidentally hits Owens with an enziguri and Zayn hits Helluva Kick for the pinfall. After the match, Owens grabs a ladder as Cesaro hits the ring. Cesaro hits a springboard European uppercut, climbs the ladder and grabs the Money In The Bank briefcase display.
Winners: Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn, by pinfall. 

- Rusev vs. Jack Swagger: The match closes out with Rusev going for The Accolade submission, but Swagger counters and traps Rusev in the Patriot Lock submission. Rusev counters out and lands a kick to Swagger. Rusev applies The Accolade submission on Swagger and forces the tap out. After the match, Rusev refuses to let go of the Accolade, but Titus O’Neil hits the ring, forcing Rusev to retreat.
Winner: Rusev, by submission

- Backstage, Darren Young tells Bob Backlund he's running to build his cardio. Backlund says he quit running in 1978 and tells Young to walk the eight hours to the next town.

- AJ Styles vs. Kofi Kingston: The match closes out with Styles getting distracted by Woods and Francesca 2, allowing Kofi to hit an SOS for a near fall. Karl Anderson sends Woods into the steel steps. Big E sends Luke Gallows into the barricade. Big E with a belly to belly suplex on Anderson on to the commentary table. Gallows lands a big boot on Big E. Kofi flies out and takes out Gallows with a plancha. Styles hits the Pele Kick on Kofi and scores the pinfall with the Styles Clash.
Winner: AJ Styles, by pinfall.

- This closed out this week's Smackdown.
