WWE Fastlane Recap #WWEFastlane

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you the WWE Fastlane pay per view recap. WWE Fastlane was live in Triple Threat CLE's hometown of Cleveland, Ohio at Quicken Loans Arena.

Who would walk out of WWE Fastlane the new #1 Contender and go on to meet Triple H at Wrestlemania 32 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Also hometown boy, Dolph Ziggler, who attended St Edwards High School in Lakewood, Ohio and also Kent State University, battles Kevin Owens for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

*** Pre-Show ***

- "WWE United States Championship, 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match": Kalisto (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio: The battle went to the floor where Kalisto ran the barricade, landed a hurricanrana on Del Rio and sent Del Rio over the barricade. Kalisto leaps off the barricade and catches a steel chair shot by Del Rio, giving Kalisto the first fall DQ victory. Del Rio attacks Kalisto after the DQ and throws Kalisto into the barricade several times before the second fall could even begin. Back in the ring, the second fall begins and Del Rio quickly ties things up at 1-1, with the tree of woe double foot stomp on Kalisto for the pinfall. The match closes out with, Kalisto going to the floor and Del Rio gets warned for grabbing a steel chair again. Del Rio hits the tree of woe double foot stomp on Kalisto while hanging him upside down from the barricade.
Kalisto just makes it back into the ring at a 9 count and Del Rio unloads more stomps. Del Rio goes for the tree of woe double foot stomp again, but Kalisto dodges it, sends Del Rio into the turn buckle and rolls Del Rio up for the deciding pinfall.
Winner: Kalisto, 2-1, to retain the WWE United States Championship.

*** WWE Fastlane ***

- Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch vs. Tamina Snuka and Naomi: The match closes out with, Naomi hitting the rear view on Sasha for a near fall. Tamina tags in and lands a super kick on Sasha for a near fall as Naomi stops the pinfall. Becky gets tossed to the floor and Team BAD goes for a double suplex on Sasha. Sasha counters out as Becky comes back in and nails a drop kick. Tamina misses a clothesline and Sasha locks Tamina in the Banks Statement. Naomi tries to break up the submission, but Becky is in and locks Naomi in the Dis-Arm-Her submission. Both Tamina and Naomi tap out on both submission holds.
Winners: Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, by submission.

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match": Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler: The match closes out with, Owens countering Zig Zag and lands a super kick on Ziggler. Both men are up and Ziggler hits a super kick on Owens for a near fall. Owens and Ziggler take the action to the floor. Owens goes for a power bomb, but Ziggler counters with a hurricanrana that sends Owens into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Ziggler hits the Famasser on Owens for a near fall. Ziggler goes for another super kick, but almost hits the referee. Owens kicks Ziggler's leg out and hits the pop up power bomb for the pinfall. After the match, Owens raises his IC Title in the air and stares down Michael Cole at the announcers table.
Winner: Kevin Owens, by pinfall, to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

- Backstage, Kane says he, Big Show and Ryback will send the Wyatt Family straight to hell tonight.

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": Erick Rowan, Luke Harper and Braun Strowman vs. Kane, Big Show and Ryback: The match closes out with, Ryback slamming Harper and then nailing a running powerslam for a near fall. Kane grabs Rowan and delivers a chokeslam, but Strowman knocks Kane down. Show tosses Strowman to the floor, but gets jumped by Harper. Show picks up Harper and throws him on top of the Wyatts. Show goes outside and spears Strowman, as Ryback hits the Meat Hook on Harper. Bray Wyatt distracts Ryback allowing Harper to get a near fall super kick. Kane takes Bray out as Ryback hits Shell Shock on Harper to score the pinfall.
Winners: Kane, Big Show and Ryback, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Roman Reigns says things won't be the same after tonight and all that matters is that he's the last man standing. Dean Ambrose interrupts and trades a few jabs at Reigns. Ambrose says Brock Lesnar may be strong and scary but Lesnar isn't winning. Ambrose says his crystal ball showed either he or Reigns battling Triple H at Wrestlemania 32.

- "WWE Divas Championship Match": Charlotte (c) vs. Brie Bella: The match closes out with, Charlotte going for a Figure Four, but Brie counters. Brie hits two apron drop kicks on Charlotte and unloads Yes Kicks, while sporting a leg injury. Brie hits a spine buster on Charlotte and gets a near fall. Brie locks Charlotte in the Yes Lock submission as Ric Flair goes nuts on the floor. Brie readjusts with a single leg crab submission, but her injured leg goes out again. Charlotte kicks Brie away, locks in the Figure Eight submission and forces Brie to tap out.
Winner: Charlotte, by submission, to retain the WWE Divas Championship.

- Backstage, Chris Jericho says he has the upper hand on AJ Styles because he won their last match. Jericho says if AJ wins it could cement his spot in the WWE, if he loses he may force AJ to pack up and leave the WWE. Jericho says he's the best in the world and wants to see if AJ really is phenomenal.

- AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho: The match closes out with, Jericho locking AJ in the Walls of Jericho submission, but AJ reaches the ropes. Jericho sends AJ outside and locks AJ in the Liontamer on the floor. AJ makes it back into the ring barely and eats a Jericho Code Breaker for a near fall. Jericho slaps AJ around in the corner and calls him a "stupid son of a bitch". AJ lands a boot on Jericho, unloads a series of punches and gets a near fall Styles Clash on Jericho. AJ catches Jericho and locks in the Calf Crusher submission. Jericho fights for his life and reaches for the bottom rope. Jericho can't reach it and finally taps out. After the match, Jericho and AJ go nose to nose and Jericho threatens to punch AJ. AJ says they can go again if he wants. Jericho backs down and shakes AJ's hand in respect.
Winner: AJ Styles, by pinfall.

- The Cutting Edge Peep Show With Edge and Christian, Special Guests, The New Day: E & C plug their new WWE Network show, Christian talks about history he had in Cleveland, but The New Day interrupt. The New Day and E & C go back and forth and New Day claim to be the best WWE tag team now. The League of Nations suddenly interrupt and New Day says they'd love to fight, but it's their day off. New Day leave and the LON are now the guests. The LON threaten E & C and Del Rio takes credit for ending Edge's career. E & C leave the ring and meet up with The New Day. E & C call the LON The International House of Dumbasses. The New Day dance around as E & C plug their WWE Network show again.

- R-Truth vs. Curtis Axel: The match closes out with, Bo Dallas shoving Truth off the top rope as the referee was distracted. Goldust hits the ring to help Truth. Goldust goes after the Social Outcasts as Truth is distracted. Axel rolls Truth up from behind and scores the pinfall. After the match, Goldust apologizes to Truth, but Truth isn't hearing it.
Winner: Curtis Axel, by pinfall.

- "Triple Threat Match for the #1 Contendership": Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose: The match closes out with, Reigns and Ambrose sending Lesnar into the barricade and then power bombing Lesnar through the announcers table. Reigns and Ambrose bury Lesnar in table parts and go at it. Reigns goes for a power bomb on Ambrose, but Ambrose counters with elbows to Reigns. Ambrose escapes but gets hit with the Reigns Superman Punch.
Ambrose counters the Reigns spear and gets a near fall Dirty Deeds on Reigns. Ambrose goes for another Dirty Deeds, but Lesnar returns and hits a german suplex on both Reigns and Ambrose at the same time. Reigns hits a spear on Lesnar, but Lesnar counters it on the mat with the Kimura Lock submission. Reigns tries to power out, as Ambrose lands a series of steel chair shots on Lesnar, forcing the submission break.
Ambrose tees off on both Lesnar and Reigns with steel chair shots, until Lesnar rolls to the floor. Ambrose turns toward Reigns and eats the spear. Reigns covers and scores the pinfall, making Reigns the #1 Contender. After the match, Reigns looks up at the Wrestlemania 32 sign as Triple H interrupts. Triple H and Reigns circle, stare each other down and look at the Wrestlemania 32 sign as Triple H raises up the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to end the show.
Winner: Roman Reigns, by pinfall, to become the #1 Contender to Triple H and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 32.
