Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 2.12.16: #NXT & #SmackDown

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your NXT Recap Edition.

This week's NXT took place back at their home base of Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Baron Corbin faces Johnny Gargano, as Corbin looks to get back into the NXT World Title picture. The Hype Bros. were in tag team action. Alexa Bliss battled Cameron in Women's Division action. Elias Samson was in singles action. Bayley defended the NXT Women's Championship against her best friend Carmella in the main event.

- Baron Corbin vs. Johnny Gargano: The match closes out with Corbin hitting Deep Six on Gargano, but Gargano comes back with a super kick for a near fall. Corbin takes a breather on the floor, then comes back and hits Gargano with End of Days to score the pinfall.
Winner: Baron Corbin, by pinfall.

- Hype Bros. vs. Corey Hollis and John Skyler: The match closes out with, Ryder getting the hot tag to Mojo and Mojo cleans house. Mojo hits a firemans carry face buster setting the table for the double team Hype Ryder for the pinfall.
Winners: The Hype Bros., by pinfall.

- Backstage, Bayley and Carmella are ready for their match against each other tonight, shake hands and say may the best woman win.

- Alexa Bliss vs. Cameron: The match closes out with, Cameron hitting a neckbreaker, but Alexa grabs Cameron and slams her down face first. Alexa hits a double knee moonsault and then the Sparkle Splash for the pinfall.
Winner: Alexa Bliss, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Enzo Amore and Big Cass claim that their 2016 will be bigger than the NXT World Tag Team Champions, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson. Jason Jordan and Chad Gable interrupt and say the same about their team.

- Elias Samson vs. Jessy Sorensen: The match closes out with, Samson making quick work of the former TNA wrestler. Samson hits his short arm neck breaker on Sorenson and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Elias Samson, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Apollo Crews says he doesn't regret challenging the NXT World Champion, Finn Balor. Next time we'll see a new Apollo Crews.

- "NXT Women's Championship Match": Bayley (c) vs. Carmella: The match closes out with, Bayley hitting a series of elbows and a powerslam for a near fall on Carmella. Bayley goes to the top rope, but Carmella shoves her outside. Carmella hits two suicide dives in a row on Bayley and takes the action back to the ring. Carmella goes for three straight pinfall attempts, but Bayley kicks out of all three. Carmella goes for a submission hold, but Bayley reverses it. Carmella and Bayley trade off on pinfall roll ups until Bayley finally keeps Carmella down for a pinfall. After the match, Bayley and Carmella go face to face before sharing a hug.
Nia Jax and Eva Marie suddenly come out of nowhere, attack Bayley and Carmella and beat them down. Asuka hits the ring for the save and cleans house. Asuka smiles at Bayley while eyeing her NXT Women's Championship.
Winner: Bayley, by pinfall, to retain the NXT Women's Championship.

- Backstage, Samoa Joe says next week he's ending Sami Zayn's career in their #1 Contenders Match.

- This closes out this weeks NXT.

This week's Smackdown took place in Portland, Oregon. Chris Jericho finally gets his rematch against AJ Styles, in the main event, but first the Ayahttola of Rock N Rolla teams up with Styles to face The Social Outcasts. Sasha Banks takes on her former Team BAD ally, Naomi, one on one. The Dudley Boys turn full heel and send a message to the WWE Universe. Neville and The Lucha Dragons battled Stardust and The Ascension in a Six Man Tag Team Match.

*** Smackdown ***

- Chris Jericho Promo: Jericho is pumped for his match against AJ Styles, respects Styles, but not that much. Styles isn't as phenomenal as Jericho and Styles hasn't earned the right to call himself that. Jericho is the best in the world and dares Styles to come out. Styles' music hits and out comes AJ. The Social Outcasts suddenly interrupt, before Styles and Jericho can wrestle. Slater says the Social Outcasts will make Smackdown go viral and the Social Outcasts are phenomenal. Jericho calls the Outcasts idiots, knocks Slater down and a brawl breaks out. Styles and Jericho clear the ring and Jericho wants a tag match against the Social Outcasts right now.

- Chris Jericho and AJ Styles vs. The Social Outcasts: The match closes out with, Styles landing a Pele Kick on Axel. Jericho tags himself in, hits an axehandle on Rose, springboard dropkicks Slater off the apron and hits a lionsault on Rose. Styles tags himself in, hits a springboard forearm on Rose and scores the pinfall. After the match, Jericho lays Styles out with a Code Breaker and tells Styles to try to top that.
Winners: Chris Jericho and AJ Styles, by pinfall.

- The Dudley Boys Promo: The Dudleys are surrounded at ringside with tables, as Bubba takes the microphone. Bubba says the Dudleys made a statement on RAW, laying out The Usos. Bubba says they are sick and tired of hearing about Daniel Bryan retiring and sick and tired of a lot of other things going on in WWE. Devon says that since they came back they have been looked at as nothing but a nostalgia act and need to remind everyone that they are still the baddest tag team in the world. Bubba says they will add on to their legacies and the fans need to take a good long look at the tables that surround the ring because it's the last time they will ever see them. The tables didn't win them 9 WWE World Tag Team Championships, the Dudley Boys won those on their own.

- Sasha Banks vs. Naomi: Becky Lynch was on commentary. The match closes out with, Sasha landing a series of clotheslines, a drop kick, a hurricanrana and double knees to the gut of Naomi for a near fall. Tamina gets in a cheap shot on Sasha, forcing Becky Lynch to get involved and brawl with Tamina. Naomi misses a springboard moonsault on Sasha. Sasha rolls to the floor and hits a running boot on Tamina. Back in the ring, Sasha gets rolled up by Naomi, but rolls through and locks Naomi in the Bank Statement, forcing Naomi to tap out. 
Winner: Sasha Banks, by submission.

- Backstage, AJ Styles says he might be a red neck, but he's no rookie. Styles says he's not falling for Jericho's tantics, Jericho may be the best in the world, but he will learn why AJ is called the phenomenal one.

- The Wyatt Family Promo: Bray says The Wyatt's mythology becomes our reality, he is the king of the gods and they have their eyes set on destroying all of the WWE titans. Harper says the largest titans will turn to mortals. Rowan tells us to bow down and accept our fates. Strowman says the earth will shake, oceans will boil and darkness will consume us all. Bray says the Apocalypse surrounds us, he's the angel of dirt, the eater of worlds and war has just begun. FOLLOW THE BUZZARDS!

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": The Lucha Dragons and Neville vs. The Ascension and Stardust: The match closes out with, Kalisto hitting a seated senton, a springboard corkscrew and a head scissors that sends Viktor to the floor. The Dragons hit suicide dives on Stardust and Viktor on the outside. Kalisto lands a roundhouse kick and Salida Del Sol on Konnor. Sin Cara tags in and hits a swanton bomb on Konnor. Neville tags in and hits Red Arrow on Konnor to score the pinfall.
Winners: The Lucha Dragons and Neville, by pinfall.

- AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho: The match closes out with, Jericho locking in the Walls of Jericho submission, but Styles counters out with punches. Styles locks Jericho in the Calf Crusher submission, but Jericho reaches the ropes to break the submission. Styles baseball slides Jericho to the floor, then follows with a slingshot forearm. Back in the ring, Styles goes for a springboard forearm, but Jericho trips Styles.
Jericho sends Styles face first into the turnbuckle and hits the Code Breaker. Jericho covers and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Chris Jericho, by pinfall.

- This closes out this weeks Smackdown.
