WWE Battleground Preview #WWE #Battleground

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you the WWE Battleground preview. Battleground takes place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. And if you can't see it live, or miss it on the WWE Network, be sure to check out my Battleground recap Monday afternoon.

- "WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match": Seth Rollins (c) vs. Brock Lesnar: Brock Lesnar has returned to the WWE, after serving his suspension that The Authority placed him on after Wrestlemania 31. Lesnar looks to get revenge on Seth Rollins, after the results from Wrestlemania 31 didn't go Lesnar's way. Rollins used that opportunity, cashed in his money in the bank briefcase and inserted himself in the Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match. Rollins scored the pin on Reigns and left the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar has finally been granted his rematch and looks to take Rollins to Suplex City and change the future of the company. Seth Rollins successfully retained his title the past two months in a short feud with Dean Ambrose and still considers himself the best in the WWE. Triple H reinstated Brock Lesnar from his suspension and now wants Rollins to really prove what he's worth to the company, by taking out Lesnar. Rollins was sceptic at first, but has had the Triple H pep talk on how to be the best, pushing Rollins into believing he can conquer The Beast. Can Rollins conquer The Beast and prove he really is the future of the WWE? Will Lesnar dismantle Rollins and take back what he feels is still his property, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship?

- "WWE United States Championship Match": John Cena (c) vs. Kevin Owens: Cena and Owens meet for the third time in this very entertaining feud. John Cena continues to be the fighting U.S. Champion, defending the title each and every week. During those title defenses, he's gained a huge enemy that wants to see him gone from the WWE, forever. Kevin Owens has made a huge name for himself in his short run in NXT and immediately targeted Cena when he stepped up to the main roster. Owens defeated Cena in what many considered a five star match at WWE Elimination Chamber. Cena got his revenge on Owens and defeated the WWE rookie in what many considered another five star match at WWE Money In The Bank. How will this trilogy of matches conclude, with Cena putting the United States Championship on the line? Can Cena and Owens pull out another five star match and make this a huge candidate for feud of the year?

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship, Triple Threat Match": Ryback (c) vs. Big Show vs. The Miz: Last month at WWE Money In The Bank, Ryback faced Big Show one on one with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. Big Show won the match, but by DQ, thanks to The Miz interfering in the match and costing Show a shot at winning the title. The Miz, wanting a shot at the title too, became a thorn in both Ryback and Big Show's side, making it his mission to interfere in their matches. Ryback decided to give both Show and The Miz what they want in a Triple Threat Match. Can Ryback take down the largest athlete in the world and the biggest mouth in the world? Will Big Show knockout Ryback and Miz and win what he felt he should have one last month? Can The Miz pull off a true Hollywood story and defeat two of the WWE's biggest athletes?

****
Card Change: Due to Ryback suffering a knee injury, it is unknown if this match will still take place, be replaced or just be The Miz vs Big Show

- "WWE World Tag Team Championship Match": Prime Time Players (c) vs. The New Day: The Prime Time Players defeated The New Day at last month's Money In The Bank pay per view to capture the WWE World Tag Team Championship. Titus O'Neil and Darren Young look to continue to stay dominate and on top of the tag team division as they grant The New Day their rematch. The New Day have been on a huge losing streak this past month, since losing the tag titles. Not only losing in tag matches, but also in singles matches and throw in getting destroyed by Brock Lesnar at the Beast In The East pay per view. Can The New Day get back on track and reclaim their world tag team titles? Will the Prime Time Players stay on top in prime time and retain?

- Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt: Last month at Money In The Bank, Bray Wyatt targeted Roman Reigns during the Money In The Bank Match. Reigns was on his way to winning the Money In The Bank briefcase, when Bray Wyatt appeared, hit Sister Abigail on Reigns and cost him the briefcase. In the month leading up to Battleground, Reigns has been on a mission to get his hands on Wyatt. Wyatt spent the month playing mind games with Reigns. Wyatt would attack Reigns from behind, target Reigns' family and send Reigns pictures of his daughter. Can Reigns finally stop the sadistic Bray Wyatt, or will Bray Wyatt's mind games cost Reigns the match?

- Randy Orton vs. Sheamus: Randy Orton and Sheamus go into Battleground renewing their rivalry from the past for this one on one match. Orton returned to RAW last week and made Mr. Money In The Bank, Sheamus, his first target. Will the Viper strike and take out Sheamus in his return match? Can Sheamus keep us entertained and pull off the win on Orton? And what about Sheamus' Money In The Bank briefcase? Will tonight be the night Sheamus cashes in for a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match?

*** Battleground Kick-Off ***

- "Battle For The Crown Match": King Barrett vs. R-Truth: Truth has been on a roll recently in his quest in humiliating King Barrett. Truth first pinned Barrett inside the Elimination Chamber two months ago and then again defeated Barrett last month at Money In The Bank. Truth further humiliated Barrett by stealing his king's crown, cape and scepter. Barrett was able to finally score a victory on Truth last week on RAW, but still couldn't get back his king's crown. Barrett will put the King of the Ring crown on the line tonight once and for all.
