Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 2/16/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT saw the NXT World Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain battle Spears and Anoa'i in non title tag team action. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce battled Liv Morgan and a mystery partner in Women's Division tag team action. #DIY make a challenge to the NXT World Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain. The main event saw WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate defend his title against Trent Seven.

** NXT **

- The Authors of Pain vs. Spears and Anoa'i: The AOP make quick work of Spears and Anoa'i, hit The Last Chapter and score the pinfall. After the match, AOP hit the Super Collider double power bombs. 
Winners: The Authors of Pain, by pinfall.

- Billie Kay and Peyton Royce vs. Liv Morgan and ????: Liv chooses Ember Moon as her mystery tag team partner. The match closes out with Liv unloading on Peyton and Billie and gets a near fall. Billie lands a boot sending Ember to the floor. Billie and Peyton hit their double team finisher on Liv and score the pinfall.
Winners: Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, by pinfall.

- Backstage, No Way Jose and Roderick Strong promise to have Tye Dillinger's back in his feud with SAnitY because Dillinger is respected in the locker room and is the hottest thing in NXT right now.

- #DIY Promo: #DIY talk about winning the NXT World Tag Team Championship, winning NXT Match of the Year and losing the titles to The Authors of Pain. #DIY claim to have seen doubt in AOP's eyes and they want their rematch now. Paul Ellering comes out and tells #DIY they can have their match in two weeks and to make peace with their loved ones. The Revival suddenly hit the ring, attack #DIY from behind and beat them down.

- Backstage, William Regal announces that Peyton Royce, Ember Moon and Liv Morgan will face off in a Triple Threat Match next week with the winner getting a NXT Women's Championship Match against Asuka.

- "WWE United Kingdom Championship Match": Tyler Bate (c) vs. Trent Seven: The match closes out with Bate catching Seven on the top rope and hits a Super Exploder Suplex. Seven counters Tyler Driver 97, but Bate lands a back kick. Bate hits the Tyler Driver 97 on the second attempt, scores the pinfall and retains the title.
Winner: Tyler Bate, by pinfall, to retain the WWE United Kingdom Championship.
