NXT returned this week just 3 short days away from NXT Takeover: Chicago. NXT World Champion Bobby Roode meets Hideo Itami in the ring face to face just before they go to war at Takeover. Who will walk out the NXT World Champion after Saturday??

- Drew McIntyre vs. Sean Maluta: The match closes out with McIntyre nailing a series of chops and punches on Maluta. McIntyre hits the head butt and then nails the Claymore on Maluta to score the pinfall. After the match, McIntyre says he'll take care of Wesley Blake next week.Winner: Drew McIntyre, by pinfall.
- Highlights are shown of Roderick Strong being attacked by SAnitY last week. Strong demands SAnitY from William Regal.
- Somewhere on the roof, Eric Young and SAnitY stand. Young says Strong is crazy for demanding SAnitY now that he has a wife and a newborn baby. Young says he'll see Strong at NXT Takeover: Chicago.
- Earlier in the day while coming to the arena in a car, Asuka refuses to answer all the questions that are asked to her in her interview about her opponents at Takeover. They arrive to the arena and Asuka walks off.
- Lacey Evans vs. Sonya Deville: The match closes out with Lacey unloading, hits a couple kicks, double knees and a neck breaker for a near fall. Sonya hits a step up kick on Lacey and scores the pinfall.Winner: Sonya Deville, by pinfall. - Kassius Ohno vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas: The match closes out with both men trading punches while on the second rope. Almas drops Ohno with an elbow, but then eats a kick from Ohno. Almas hits a double dropkick and an inverted tornado DDT for a near fall. Ohno comes back with a big pump kick on Almas and then hits double rolling elbows to score the pinfall.
Winner: Kassius Ohno, by pinfall. - Bobby Roode Promo: Roode mocks the fans and says he hopes they enjoyed when he was minding his own business and got hit with Go To Sleep by Hideo Itami, while in his $5,000 suit because it'll never happen again. Roode mocks Itami for being fragile and being constantly on the DL. Roode then promises that Itami will have to go back to his family after Takeover and admit what a failure he is again. Hideo Itami arrives and hits the ring. Roode backs off and begs Itami that he doesn't have to do this, as William Regal and NXT Security storm the ring. Itami dodges through the security and tackles Roode into the mat. Security pull Itami off of Roode, forcing Itami to unload on security. Itami hits Go To Sleep on two security guards and then Roode cheap shots Itami from behind. Itami regains himself and leaves Roode laid out again with another Go To Sleep to end the show.
