Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 3/16/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT saw the NXT World Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain battle The Ealy Brothers in a non title tag team match. Nikki Cross of SAnitY battled Macey Estrella in a one on one Women's Division match. NXT World Champion Bobby Roode defended his title against Kassius Ohno, with the winner facing Shinsuke Nakamura at Takeover: Orlando.

- Authors Of Pain vs. The Ealy Brothers: The match closes out with the AOP making quick work of the Ealy's with the Super Collider and The Last Chapter for the pinfall. After the match, Paul Ellering promises that The Revival are AOP's next victims. #DIY interrupt and feel they deserve a rematch because they almost beat AOP, but The Revival interfered. The Revival interrupt and state that it doesn't matter who Ellering has managed, The Revival are the greatest tag team in the world. NXT GM William Regal arrives and makes AOP vs. The Revival vs. #DIY in a Triple Threat Elimination Match for the NXT World Tag Team Championship official for Takeover: Orlando.
Winners: Authors of Pain, by pinfall.

- Nikki Cross vs. Macey Estrella: The match closes out with Nikki making quick work of Macey with five straight swinging neck breakers for the pinfall. After the match, Tye Dillinger and No Way Jose hit the ring and attack SAnitY from behind. SAnitY regains control, beat down Dillinger and Jose and leave both men laid out.
Winner: Nikki Cross, by pinfall.

- Earlier at the NXT Performance Center, Andrade "Cien" Almas is bullying HoHo Lun. Oney Lorcan gets in Almas' face and tells him to try to bully him. Almas laughs and walks out.

- "NXT World Championship Match": Bobby Roode (c) vs. Kassius Ohno: #1 Contender Shinsuke Nakamura is watching the match from backstage. The match closes out with Ohno countering the Glorious DDT and nails the Death By Elbow, but it sends Roode flying to the floor. Ohno tosses Roode back into the ring, hits a senton splash on Roode and gets a near fall. Ohno goes for another Death By Elbow, but Roode counters out of it. Roode and Ohno reverse each others move attempts that finally ends with Roode nailing the Glorious DDT on Ohno. Roode covers, scores the pinfall and retains his title.
Winner: Bobby Roode, by pinfall, to retain the NXT World Championship.
