Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's this week's NXT and Smackdown recap for the week.
*** NXT ***
- This week's NXT was at their home base at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Asuka had a one on one match this week with Cameron, would she continue to stay dominate in the Women's Division? Eva Marie returned from her Paris vacation and had a one on one match against Marley. Finn Balor defended the NXT World Title against #1 contender, Apollo Crews.
- Asuka defeated Cameron, by submission: The match closes out with Cameron pulling Asuka into the turnbuckle to take control. Asuka, however, hits three straight hip attacks, unloads a series of body blows and locks in an arm bar submission. Cameron fights out of the arm bar, but ends up locked in the Asuka Lock submission instead. Cameron taps out, giving Asuka the victory.
- Backstage, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson interrupt Carmella during her update on Enzo and Big Cass. Wilder and Dawson wish they would've taken out Enzo and Cass sooner. Wilder and Dawson roll out a wheelchair and plan to put The Vaudevillains in it and win the NXT World Tag Team Championship.
- Backstage, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable plan on challenging NXT tag team icons, The Ascension, so they can begin making names for themselves in NXT.
- Bull Dempsey defeated Angelo Dawkins, by pinfall: The match closes out with Dawkins unloading on Dempsey, but Dempsey begins to "hulk up". Dempsey hits the Bull Combo and finishes off Dawkins with the Whoopee Cushion off the top rope for the pinfall.
- Backstage, Bayley has accepted Alexa Bliss, Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake's six person tag team match challenge. Bayley's partners will be Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder, The Hype Brothers.
- Eva Marie defeated Marley, by pinfall: The match closes out with Marley hitting a series of drop kicks and planting Eva with a DDT. Marley corner charges Eva, but Eva gets her boot up for the counter. Eva hits a DDT on Marley, covers and scores the pinfall.
- Finn Balor vs. Apollo Crews goes to a No-Contest, Balor retains the NXT World Title: The match closes out with Balor hitting a running drop kick, climbing to the top rope, but missing the double stomp. Crews hits an enziguri, but Balor returns with a pele kick to Crews. Both men are down as Baron Corbin hits the ring and attacks both Balor and Crews, forcing the referee to throw the match out. After the match, Samoa Joe hits the ring and makes the save, chasing Corbin from the ring. Balor gets back to his feet and looks to thank Joe, but Joe TURNS HEEL! Joe lays Balor out with a clothesline and drops a series of blows and stomps down on Balor. Joe lands a series of corner kicks and punches before picking Balor up and planting Balor with the Muscle Buster, leaving Balor laid out to end the show.
*** Smackdown ***
- This week's Smackdown took place in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We got more Survivor Series Traditional Tag Team Elimination action, as The Wyatt Family battled The Lucha Dragons and The Prime Time Players in 4-on-4 action. The Usos make their Smackdown return, facing The Ascension. Alberto Del Rio continues his Mex-America movement and goes one on one with Neville. Kevin Owens went one on one against Dean Ambrose in the main event.
- Viva MexAmerica!!: Zeb Colter and the WWE United States Champion, aka the WWE MexAmerica Champion, Alberto Del Rio, kick off Smackdown in the ring for a promo. Colter says MexAmerica is two great countries joining as one, hate is not allowed in MexAmerica, haters are not allowed in MexAmerica either and Colter sees a lot of haters. Del Rio says to become one great nation we need not to have borders. Colter says we're lying to ourselves if we don't notice illegals in this country.
- Alberto Del Rio defeated Neville, by pinfall: The match closes out with Neville dodging a Del Rio enziguri and hitting a hurricanrana for a near fall. Neville goes for the Red Arrow, but Del Rio shoves Neville off the ropes and traps Neville in the tree of woe. Del Rio goes to the top rope and hits the double stomp on Neville to score the pinfall. After the match, Del Rio blasts Neville with a kick and then locks Neville in the cross arm breaker submission. Jack Swagger hits the ring, makes the save and has a stare down with Del Rio.
- The Usos defeated The Ascension, by pinfall: The match closes out with Jey connecting with two shoulder tackles and an uppercut on Viktor. Jey continues the offense with a running stinkface and a samoan drop on Viktor. Konnar tries to get involved, but eats a Jimmy super kick. Jey and Jimmy double super kick Viktor and Jey hits the Uso Splash from the top rope to score the pinfall.
- The Wyatt Family defeated The Prime Time Players and The Lucha Dragons in a Traditional Survivor Series 4-on-4 Elimination Match: Darren Young hits a jawbreaker on Braun Strowman, but it has no effect on the monster. Strowman traps Young in his Bear Hug/Sleeper Combo, as Young was on the apron. Young gets choked out, falls to the floor and gets counted out. The Wyatt Family have the 4-3 advantage. Sin Cara goes to work on the Wyatts with an enziguri, a hurricanrana, a springboard moonsault and hits Rowan with a suicide dive. Sin Cara gets a near fall DDT on Harper, but Harper gets back up and nails the big lariat and scores the pinfall. The Wyatt Family have the 4-2 advantage. Strowman sends Titus into the barricade, as Kalisto plants a roll through kick on Harper. Harper tags Rowan, who grabs Kalisto, plants him with a full nelson slam and scores the pinfall.
The Wyatt Family have the 4-1 advantage. Titus hits the Clash of the Titus on Harper, but Bray and Rowan break up the pinfall. Strowman comes in and Titus tries to take down the monster with punches. Strowman locks Titus in his Bear Hug/Sleeper Combo and chokes Titus half out. Bray tags in, hits Titus with Sister Abigail and scores the pinfall. The Wyatt Family win the match 4-0.
- Backstage, Dean Ambrose talks about how he prepared for Kevin Owens tonight. Owens interrupts and says Ambrose knows nothing about being the greatest champion ever. Ambrose reminds Owens that he pinned him on RAW. Owens says there's a difference between a Survivor Series Match and a one on one match.
- Ryback defeated King Barrett, by pinfall: The match closes out with Barrett in control as he hits a side slam, a knee to Ryback's back and applies a headlock. Ryback escapes the headlock and hits the Shell Shock on Barrett to score the pinfall.
- Backstage, Team BAD accept Nattie Neidhart's challenge that she threw out on WWE.com to the leader. Sasha Banks says she's the leader and will take out Nattie. Sasha storms off, as Naomi and Tamina look confused as they feel they are the leaders.
- Nattie Neidhart defeated Tamina, by pinfall: The match closes out with Nattie going for the Sharpshooter submission, but Sasha Banks jumps on the apron. Tamina hits a samoan drop on Nattie, during the distraction and goes for the SuperFly Splash. Nattie rolls out of the way and rolls Tamina up for the pinfall.
- Kevin Owens defeated Dean Ambrose, by DQ: The match closes out with Ambrose countering the pop up power bomb and hitting a jawbreaker. Ambrose plants a kick to Owens' gut and signals for Dirty Deeds. Owens imitates Eddie Guerrero, fakes a kick to the nuts in front of the referee, the referee buys it and DQ's Ambrose. After the match, Ambrose hits two suicide dives on Owens and both men brawl until Owens escapes to close out Smackdown.
