Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's this week's NXT and Smackdown recap for the week.
*** NXT ***
- This week's NXT was at their home base at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Bailey and Alexa Bliss lead their teams in six person tag team action. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder face The Vaudevillains with the NXT Tag Team Championship on the line. Samoa Joe explains why he turned on his best friend, Finn Balor.
- Tye Dillinger and Baron Corbin went to a No-Contest: Dillinger and Corbin were set to lock up when Apollo Crews hits the ring. Crews attacks Corbin, looking for redemption for Corbin costing Crews a shot at winning the NXT World Title last week. Corbin escapes the ring and runs from Crews.
- Bayley and The Hype Brothers defeated Alexa Bliss, Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy, by pinfall, in a Six Person Tag Team Match: The match closes out with Bayley tossing Alexa to the floor and Alexa grabs Bayley's NXT Women's Championship. Alexa leaves with the title, but the referee stops Bayley from giving chase. Bayley stops Murphy from scoring a pin and Murphy gets in Bayley's face. Bayley hits Bayley-To-Belly on Murphy setting the Hype Brothers up for the Hyper Ryder to score the pinfall.
- The Ascension accept Jason Jordan and Chad Gable's challenge from last week to a match.
- Backstage, Nia Jax and Eva Marie are spotted talking and go into a room together.
- Nia Jax defeated Deonna, by pinfall: Nia owns Deonna in this match. The match closes out with Nia splashing Deonna in the corner, hitting a running hip attack, landing a spine buster and finishes Deonna off with a leg drop for the pinfall.
- Backstage, Bayley finds Alexa Bliss with her NXT Women's Championship. Alexa drops the belt and runs. Bayley runs into Nia Jax, but Alexa returns and attacks Bayley from behind. Nia backs Alexa off, picks up the title and hands it back to Bayley.
- Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder defeated The Vaudevillains, by submission, to win the NXT World Tag Team Championship: Dawson and Wilder hit a chop block on English and go to work on English's leg. English gets his leg driven into the ring post repeatedly, Dawson locks an Indian Death Lock submission on English's bad leg and English gets his leg repeatedly pounded on by the challengers. The match closes out with Gotch getting tossed into the steel steps and English gets trapped in another Indian Death Lock leg submission. Dash stomps on English's bad leg and Dawson applies a reverse figure four leg lock submission. English can't fight the pain any longer and finally taps up, crowning Dawson and Wilder the new NXT World Tag Team Champions.
- Samoa Joe Explains His Actions: Joe says he carried Finn Balor in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament, Balor never spoke up when NXT GM William Regal took away Joe's title match against Balor that Balor promised Joe and feels he's owed a NXT World Title Match. Finn Balor hits the ring, but gets road blocked by NXT referees. Joe shoves the referees into Balor, sneaks behind Balor and locks in the Coquina Clutch. Joe chokes out Balor and poses with the NXT World Title to close out NXT.
*** Smackdown ***
- This week's Smackdown, much like this week's RAW, took place in jolly old England. More first round matches in the Survivor Series World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, highlight the show. Who will advance to this Monday's RAW Quarter-Finals Tournament Matches? How will the Wyatt Family respond after being taken out by the Brothers of Destruction on RAW?
- The Wyatt Family Challenge The Brothers Of Destruction: The Wyatts kick off Smackdown with a promo. Luke Harper says when The Wyatts arrive blood goes cold, carnage continues and tonight The Usos get sacrificed. Erick Rowan says Bray Wyatt brings vengeance, pain and humiliation to all those that oppose him. Braun Strowman says he'll destroy and pile up the bodies for Bray. Bray says the Brothers of Destruction may have risen, but they're not the same, they've become part of Bray, Bray lives in their nightmares and Bray wants to challenge the brothers. Bray announces that at Survivor Series he wants family vs. family. Bray wants Kane and Undertaker vs. two Wyatt Family members and Taker has till the end of Smackdown to respond. Bray promises that 25 years from now we'll celebrate when The Wyatts buried the demon and the deadman. FOLLOW THE BUZZARDS.
- Braun Strowman defeated Fandango, by submission: The match closes out with Strowman making quick work of Fandango. Strowman lands a punch on Fandango after Fandango leap off the ropes at the monster. Strowman applies his Bearhug/Sleeper combo and chokes out Fandango for the victory.
- Neville defeated King Barrett, by pinfall, in a World Title Tournament Match: An irate Barrett was still mad over the Wayne Rooney incident on RAW and showed it. Barrett yelled at Jerry Lawler and said he's winning the tournament. Barrett then yelled at referee Charles Robinson for apparent slow pinfall counts. The match closes out with Neville going for Red Arrow, but Barrett counters with Winds Of Change for a near fall. Neville counters the Bullhammer and gets a near fall rollup. Neville counters Wasteland with a DDT, follows with Red Arrow and scores the pinfall to advance in the tournament.
- Backstage, The Usos say The Wyatt Family smell nasty. Jimmy remembers getting laid out by The Wyatts two months ago, while Jey sat at home and couldn't help, due to his injury. The Usos won't forgive or forget what The Wyatts did.
- Kalisto defeated Ryback, by pinfall, in a World Title Tournament Match: The match closes out with Kalisto countering Shell Shock and getting a near fall rollup. Ryback hits the Meat Hook, but gets a near fall, as Kalisto gets his foot on the ropes. Kalisto lands a series of back elbows on Ryback and hits Salida Del Sol off the top rope and scores the pinfall. Kalisto with the upset and advances in the tournament.
- A Divided Kingdom: WWE United States Champion, Alberto Del Rio and Zeb Colter are out for a promo. Zeb says the UK are a divided kingdom with their dividers and army of haters. Everyone hates the English and Colter and Del Rio are eradicated the hate. Del Rio mocks Manchester's two different soccer teams, which divide the city. Del Rio promises to win the World Title Tournament, combine it with his United States Championship and become the WWE MexAmerica World Heavyweight Champion. VIVA LA MEXAMERICA
- Alberto Del Rio defeated Stardust, by pinfall, in a World Title Tournament Match: Del Rio goes for the cross arm breaker submission, but Stardust escapes. Stardust hits the Disaster Kick for a near fall. Del Rio plants a series of kicks to Stardust's shoulder. Del Rio hits a running kick on Stardust and hits the tree of woe double foot stomp to score the pinfall. Del Rio advances in the tournament.
- Backstage, Roman Reigns talks about his Quarter-Final Match against Cesaro on this week's RAW, Reigns says chasing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has been like trying to climb Mount Everest, mentions not selling out and Triple H is a manipulator. Reigns guarantees winning the Survivor Series World Title Tournament. BELIEVE THAT.
- The Usos defeated Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, by DQ: The match closes out with The Usos hitting Rowan with double super kicks and follow with suicide dives on Harper and Rowan. Bray Wyatt has seen enough as the whole Wyatt Family surround The Usos and begin a 4 on 2 beatdown on The Usos, causing the DQ. After the match, Bray hits Sister Abigail on Jimmy as The Undertaker's gong sounds and music plays. Taker's voice echoes throughout the arena stating "At Survivor Series the Wyatts will rest in peace". This closes out this weeks Smackdown.
