After a 45 minute rain delay, the Sox scored a run of their own after a botched throw to first by Asdrubal Cabrera, which brought in Connor Gillespie from 3rd base. After being knotted up 1-1 through 8, Corey Kluber gave up a solo shot to Marcus Semien to put the Sox ahead 2-1. Heading into the 9th inning, Michael Brantley scored after a single from Yan Gomes to tie the game 2-2. Gomes came in to score from 3rd base after a wild pitch from White Sox closer Matt Lindstrom. But in the bottom of the 9th, Alexei Ramirez crushed a 2-run homer off of Indians closer John Axford to give the White Sox a 4-3 victory.
