Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.31.14: NXT Takeover & WWE Smackdown
Saturday afternoon is upon us and it's time for the Smackdown recap. Now before we get into the Smackdown recap, let's kick things off with the NXT Takeover pay per view recap.
NXT Takeover took place this past Thursday night live at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. I must say I know it would cost WWE a lot of money, but I honestly wish they would consider showing their live shows in smaller venues like this. You hear and feel the crowds intensity during every match. I'd take a small crowd over 20,000 dead silent fans any day. Make RAW and Smackdown small venue then do arenas for special events. Just my opinion.
- Adam Rose vs Camacho. Rose returned to NXT for a one on one match with Camacho. Adam Rose hit the "Party Foul" to score the pin on Camacho.
- NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Ascension (c) vs Kalisto and El Local. For those that don't know El Local is Ricardo Rodriguez, Alberto Del Rio's former ring announcer. The Ascension hit the "Fall of Man" to get the pin and retain the NXT Tag Team Titles.
- #1 Contenders Match to the NXT World Title: Sami Zayn vs Tyler Breeze. Breeze hits the "Beauty Shot" on Zayn to pick up the pin. Before the "Beauty Shot" it looked like Breeze low blowed Zayn when he went for a running kick in the corner.
- Rusev returned to NXT looking for a fight. He found a challenger as Mojo Rawley threatened to stick Rusev's flag where the sun doesn't shine. Rusev makes quick work of Mojo, however, locking him in "The Accolade" camel clutch. Rusev punishes Mojo more by locking on "The Accolade" again on the ramp before finally leaving.
- NXT Women's Title: Charlotte Flair w/Ric Flair vs Nattie Neidhart w/Bret Hart. If only the WWE's Divas Division was as entertaining as this match was. Nattie reverses Charlotte's version of the "Sharpshooter" into an attempt of her own. Charlotte counters with a kick to the head and a somersault cutter to score the pin and win the vacant NXT Women's Championship. Good sportsmanship afterwards as the Harts and Flairs shook hands and hugged it out. Only 15 more World Title wins to go to match the old man's record of 16, Charlotte.
- NXT World Title: Adrian Neville (c) vs Tyson Kidd. Neville hits Kidd with a hurricanrana and follows up with the "Red Arrow" to score the pin and retain the NXT World Title.
Now over to Smackdown. This is the last WWE show before this Sunday's "Special Event", WWE Payback.
Highlights of Smackdown:
- The Shield arrived to kick off Smackdown. The Shield cut a promo on Evolution stating that they will defeat the legendary faction in their "Elimination/No Holds Barred Match" at Payback.
- Alicia Fox (I've nicknamed her the new A.J. Lee, since she's been acting nutty the past month) came out during WWE Divas Champion, Paige's match against Tamina Snuka. Fox tried to cost Paige the match by distraction but it didn't work as Paige was victorious making Snuka tap.
- Another 3MB/Los Matadores match. (Enough already.....please)
- Bo Dallas made Xavier Woods a "Bo-Leiver". Well not really, but Dallas stayed undefeated with the win on Woods.
- Incase anyone forgot, Paul Heyman's client, Brock Lesnar, ended Undertaker's streak at Wrestlemania 30. Heyman was sure to continue to remind us.
- Champion vs Champion took place tonight as U.S. Champ, Sheamus, battled I-C Champ, Bad News Barrett, one on one. Cesaro's manager, Paul Heyman, was guest commentator. Heyman predicted his client, Cesaro, would defeat Sheamus for the U.S. Title at Payback. Sheamus hits the "Brogue Kick" on Barrett for the W.
- Rusev and his manager Lana were present and keeping an eye on Big E in Big E's match against Titus O'Neil. Big E made quick work of Titus.
- Adam Rose finally faced Jack Swagger one on one. Rose picked up the win with a cheap roll up and stays undefeated.
- Bray Wyatt went one on one with Jimmy Uso in a "Last Man Standing Match", a preview of what we would see this Sunday in the Wyatt vs Cena match. Wyatt came out victorious. The Wyatt Family try to get involved but Uso takes them out. Bray hits "Sister Abigail" putting Uso down for the ten count. And that wrapped up the show.
Quick Match Results:
- Cesaro def. Kofi Kingston by pin.
- Paige def. Tamina Snuka by submission.
- Bo Dallas def. Xavier Woods by pin.
- El Torito def, Jinder Mahal by pin.
- Sheamus def. Bad News Barrett by pin.
- Big E def. Titus O'Neil by pin.
- Adam Rose def. Jack Swagger by pin.
- "Last Man Standing Match": Bray Wyatt def. Jimmy Uso by ten count.
And that my friends is a wrap. Again be sure to follow me on Twitter at @BSA1978. Like and Follow Triple Threat Podcast on Facebook and Twitter. I'll be back next Saturday afternoon for another Smackdown recap. I will also be recapping WWE Payback this Monday afternoon, so keep an eye out for that. Till then tap or snap.

-The man who is dubbed "Flash", Josh Gordon, received a speeding ticket over Memorial Day weekend. No big deal right? As the officer got to the car, he stated he smelled marijuana. The passenger of the car that was with Gordon took the blame for possession of marijuana less than 200 grams. This isn't good for Gordon as he is appealing a possible suspension for either failing a drug test or missing a drug test. The question now becomes, what should the Browns do with Gordon? Release him or trade him. The Browns will let the appeals process take place and will be faced with that decision after that process is complete. The rise and fall of Gordon is a sad story and the story won't end here.
-The Indians snapped their four game losing streak and defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-2. Corey Kluber struck out 12 batters in his 7 1/3 innings pitched, while only giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. Michael Bourn and Lonnie Chisenhall each had 2 hits for the Tribe. Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera hit his fourth homerun of the season in the bottom of the 5th inning. Corey Kluber improves to 6-3 on the season and finishes the month of May with 60 strikeouts.
-The Miami Heat will return to the NBA finals for the fourth straight year with their 117-92 win over the Indiana Pacers. Lebron James and Chris Bosh scored 25 points each for the Heat. At one point, Miami was up 37 points in the game. The big men dominated for the Heat, out scoring the Pacers 50-32 in points in the paint. Paul George had a game high of 29 points but that wasn't enough to keep the Pacers in the game. Lebron James did not play in the 4th quarter but still had a solid overall game. The Heat will face either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA finals which will start on Thursday.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.30.14: TNA Impact
What's up gang, it's Friday and it's time for the TNA Impact recap for the week. Incase you missed last weeks episode of Impact, you really didn't miss much except the newly formed faction of MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley dominating the show. The trio took out The Wolves, Eric Young, Austin Aries and Bully Ray throughout different parts of the show. Ethan Carter III put Bully Ray through a table as Dixie Carter continued being the thorn in Bully's side. Mr. Anderson attacked James Storm during their beer drinking contest. Angelina Love continued to stay one step ahead of Gail Kim and still more friction between Magnus and Bram in their feud with Jeff "Willow" Hardy. Let's get this weeks recap started.
Highlights of Impact:
- More arguing between Bram and Magnus took place. Bram defeated Tigre Uno then went to attack Tigre after the match. Magnus came out and stopped him. Magnus tells Bram that he should challenge someone like Jeff "Willow" Hardy instead.
- The crazy freak show that is The Menagerie returned and beat up The BroMans after The BroMans lost to Mr. Anderson and Gunner in tag team action.
- Bully Ray arrives with tables set up everywhere. Bully says that he wants to see Dixie Carter, Rockstar Spud, EC3, MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley all put through tables and he won't stop till it's done. The power trio of MVP, King and Lashley arrive and attack Bully. Austin Aries, Eric Young and The Wolves hit the ring and make the save.
- MVP, King and Lashley defeated The Wolves and Austin Aries in a six man tag that was set up after the earlier brawl.
- Dixie Carter and Ethan Carter III come out to the ring. Dixie has unfinished business with MVP after they were interrupted last week. MVP, King and Lashley enter the ring where we see Dixie and MVP argue about power. Eric Young and Bully Ray interrupt. MVP announces EY vs. Bully with EC3 as the special referee for the main event.
- Brittany calls out Madison Rayne after losing a tag match to The Beautiful People. Brittany and Rayne begin to argue as The Beautiful People, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, come out and make fun of the two arguing knockouts. Brittany announces that she wants Angelina Love next week in a rematch for the TNA Knockouts Title.
- Bully Ray vs. Eric Young ended in a no contest when Bully attacked EC3. MVP, King and Lashley hit the ring and beat down Bully and EY. The Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe, makes his return to TNA. Joe hits the ring for the save and helps Bully and EY chase out the power trio to close out Impact.
Quick Match Results:
- Bram def. Tigre Uno by pin.
- Mr. Anderson and Gunner def. The BroMans by pin.
- MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley def. The Wolves and Austin Aries by pin.
- The Beautiful People def. Brittany and Gail Kim by pin.
- Bully Ray vs Eric Young ends in a no contest.
TNA News and Rumors:
- Wrestling legend, The Great Muta, will be returning to TNA for TV tapings at the end of June.
- TNA have been running a poll on their Facebook page on whether or not fans would like to see the six sided ring return. Sources are saying that it has been discussed inside the company for a few months now.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.27.14: WWE Raw
Happy Tuesday, ladies and gents. Hope everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. Welcome back to another edition of Wrestling Lockup with Brandon. It being Tuesday you know what that means....RAW recap baybaaaayyy! Last week on RAW, Stephanie McMahon, made it clear to Daniel Bryan that he was required to be on RAW tonight, so a final decision could be made on whether he would be stripped of his title or not. John Cena was left laid out on the stage by Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family. RVD won a beat the clock tournament making him #1 Contender to Bad News Barrett's I-C Championship. Alicia Fox dominated WWE Divas Champion, Paige. Summer Rae returned. Shield/Evolution brawling, Rusev crushing and Adam Rose partying!
Let's get this week's recap started.
Highlights of RAW:
- RAW opened with GM, Brad Maddox, getting fired, then fed to Kane by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, for allowing Ambrose and Reigns to be commentating last week during the Rollins vs Batista match. Kane choke slammed then tombstoned Maddox. (Honestly will anyone miss Maddox? I mean what exactly did he do as GM?)
- WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan, officially said NO! to forfeiting the title to Stephanie McMahon even though his neck injury needs a long period of time to heal. Stephanie reminds Daniel that his wife, Brie, shoved Stephanie a few weeks back and you never put your hands on the boss. Stephanie tells Bryan that he either forfeits the title at WWE Payback or Brie Bella will be fired. (Judging by what sources are saying, Bryan will have to give the title up eventually due to injury. Be interesting to see if he gets screwed or does it his way.)
- The Wyatt Family terrorized announcers Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler. JBL gets taken out by Rowan and Harper. Bray makes Lawler sit in the ring and take the blame for Cena's popularity because Lawler and Cena are good friends. The Wyatts are ready to attack Lawler but Cena hits the ring for the save. Cena is eventually out gunned and beaten down. Harper and Rowan make Cena watch as Bray sets Lawler up for "Sister Abigail". The Usos hit the ring and help Cena chase the Wyatts out. Cena tells the Wyatts that they just crossed a huge line and at WWE Payback, payback will be a bitch. (Segment of the night in my opinion!)
- Bad News Barrett distracted RVD costing him his match against Cesaro. Sheamus hit the ring after the match and "Brogue Kicked" Cesaro's head off. Cesaro got revenge later as he attacked Sheamus from behind and laid Sheamus out with "The Neutralizer". (Liking both Barrett and Cesaro right now. They need to put the U.S. Title on Cesaro.)
- Rusev stayed undefeated as he crushed Zack Ryder. Big E hit the ring after the match and got the upper hand on Rusev as he sends Rusev to the floor. (How much longer will Rusev be undefeated until Super Cena beats him?)
- Orton and Batista sent a message to The Shield as they worked over The Rhodes Brothers first in an "Elimination Match" then a "2 on 1 Handicap Match".
- Bo Dallas debuts on RAW defeating Sin Cara in a rematch from Smackdown. (Bo-Lieve)
- Adam Rose defeated Damien Sandow (dressed as Davy Crockett) in his wrestling debut. Jack Swagger attacks Rose after the match. Rose fights back and chases Swagger from the ring. (Swagger seriously had The Lemon in Rose's Party Posse held hostage as a way to distract Rose in his match.)
- Evolution and The Shield closed out RAW with a contract signing for their "No Holds Barred Elimination Match" at WWE Payback. Contract signed by both factions and a brawl broke out as expected. The Shield owned Evolution in the brawl until Triple H brought in his sledgehammer. The Shield were laid out with the sledgehammer and Reigns was triple powerbombed through the announce table. Evolution celebrates as the show ends.
Quick Match Results:
- Cesaro def. RVD by pin.
- Eva Marie def. Summer Rae by pin.
- El Torito def. Drew McIntyre by pin.
- Rusev def. Zack Ryder by submission.
- "Elimination Match": Evolution def. The Rhodes Brothers by pin.
- "Handicap Match": Evolution def. Goldust by pin.
- Bo Dallas def. Sin Cara by pin.
- Emma def. Alicia Fox by pin.
- Adam Rose def. Damien Sandow by pin.
- Sheamus def. Alberto Del Rio by pin.
WWE News and Rumors:
- Ric Flair is being advertised for this week's Smackdown. Both Ric Flair and Bret Hart are being advertised for NXT Takeover on Thursday.
- If Daniel Bryan ends up forfeiting the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, sources are claiming it will be on the line in one of the "Money in the Bank" ladder matches at WWE Money In The Bank.
- Be sure to check out NXT's second pay per view of the year, NXT Takeover, this Thursday. I will have a recap on the pay per view Saturday in my Smackdown recap.
Before closing out this edition of Wrestling Lockup, I want to take a quick moment to remember a man taken too soon, and had a great future still ahead of him in the WWE.
May 23rd was the 15th anniversary of the death of Owen Hart. Owen, tragically died when a equipment malfunction occurred during his entrance from the rafters of Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. Owen was only 34 and would've been something special in the WWE. R.I.P. Owen, we all still miss you.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.24.14: WWE Smackdown
Cheerio again.....BROTHER!!
Let me tell you something brother, it's Saturday, brother and it's time for another Smackdown recap brother! Yeah...anyway...This week's Smackdown, just like RAW, took place in England. Last week we saw more build up to the John Cena and Bray Wyatt feud with it made official that they would face off in a "Last Man Standing" Match at WWE Payback. The Usos backed up John Cena in his feud with The Wyatts. Batista viciously attacked Dolph Ziggler after their one on one match. Damien Sandow cut a promo about being held back until his mic got cut off. More Rhodes Family fighting as Cody Rhodes grows frustrated with losing. Let's get this week's recap started...brother!
Highlights of Smackdown:
-The Immortal one himself, Hulk Hogan, appeared to kick off the show. Hogan was the official host of Smackdown this week. Hogan cut a promo advertising the WWE Network and building it up coming to the UK soon. Nothing special....brother.
- Dolph Ziggler got another shot at Batista in a "No DQ Match", after Ziggler was taken out by the animal last week. Ziggler had no better luck this week as Batista picked up the victory.
- Bo Dallas (I.R.S.' son and Bray Wyatt's brother, for those that didn't know) made his long awaited debut. Bo Dallas tried to turn Sin Cara into a "Bo-Leiver" as they went one on one. Dallas wins in his debut.
- More party shenanigans from Adam Rose and his party posse as they targeted Vickie Guerrerro. Vickie in my opinion is a life long lemon, judging by the sour face she sells all the time.
- Bray Wyatt cut a promo calling John Cena a monster and a liar. Accused Cena of using The Usos to help him and he'll just cast them aside when he's done using them.
- Sheamus and Cesaro continue their feud as Cesaro attacked Sheamus in his match with Alberto Del Rio.
- The main event saw The Usos in tag team action against The Wyatt Family. The Usos win by DQ when Bray Wyatt gets involved. John Cena hits the ring and hits "Attitude Adjustment" on Erick Rowan. Bray and Cena stare down to close the show.
Quick Match Results:
-"No DQ Match": Batista def. Dolph Ziggler by pin.
-The Funkadactyls def. Nikki Bella and Eva Maria by pin. Summer Rae served as the referee.
-Bo Dallas def. Sin Cara by pin.
-Sheamus def. Alberto Del Rio by DQ.
-The Usos def. The Wyatt Family by DQ.
WWE News and Rumors:
-The WWE Tag Team Titles almost changed hands while on their European Tour this week. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan def. The Usos to win the titles. The Wyatt Family, however, cheated to do it. WWE backstage personnel agent, Dave "Fit" Finley, told the referee what happened and the referee restarted the match allowing The Usos to pick up the win. Exactly what kind of pull backstage does Finley have that a referee would listen to him and restart a match? Hmmm
- Sources are stating that former WWE Divas Champion, AJ Lee, will not be returning to WWE TV anytime soon. AJ will be marrying the "Cult of Personality" himself, CM Punk, in a few weeks. AJ and Punk will be doing the married couple thing for the next few months. It's being reported AJ might be back in time for either Money In The Bank or SummerSlam.
And that's a wrap my friends, I'll be back Tuesday for the RAW recap. Again follow me on Twitter at @BSA1978. Like and Follow Triple Threat Podcast on Facebook and Twitter. Till then, tap or snap.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.23.14: TNA Impact
What's up gang, it's Friday afternoon and it's time for the TNA Impact recap. Last week on Impact, we saw a new alliance formed as MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley attacked TNA World Champion, Eric Young. Bully Ray broke into Dixie Carter's house looking for revenge for what happened at TNA Sacrifice, only to be knocked out by Ethan Carter III. Gail Kim challenged The Beautiful People and was left laid out by Angelina Love. Jeff "Willow" Hardy continued his feud with Magnus and Bram. Magnus and Bram continued arguing with each other as things didn't go Bram's way. What would this week hold as TNA Slammiversary gets closer.
Highlights of Impact:
- Impact kicked off explosively tonight! The new faction of MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley cut promos about power and how stupid the fans are. The Wolves, MVP's old running buddies, arrive and all hell breaks loose as we have a brawl. Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards hold their own for a bit but eventually the 3 on 2 disadvantage bites them. Lashley spears the hell out of Edwards then spears Richards off the stage and through a table. Eddie Edwards returned for round 2 later in the evening alone as Davey Richards was injured in the opening attack. Edwards failed alone as he was laid out by Kenny King.
- MVP, King and Lashley's night was far from over as TNA World Champion, Eric Young, was still on the hunt for the newly formed faction. Young confronted the three men and another fight breaks out. Austin Aries hits the ring for back up for EY. Austin Aries would face MVP later tonight.
- Austin Aries battled MVP. The match ends in a DQ as Lashley and King hit the ring. Aries gets beat down till Eric Young hits the ring for the save. Young however gets beat down and is told by MVP he's fighting Lashley in the main event.
- Dixie Carter and Ethan Carter III arrive and confront MVP. Carter is here because she feels MVP is abusing his power. Bully Ray, who was banned from the arena, arrives with a weapon in hand, forcing Dixie and EC3 to quickly exit the ring. Bully suffers a 3 on 1 beat down from MVP, King and Lashley as Dixie looks on. Bully then gets put through a table by EC3 and Dixie stands over Bully's body, still fearing no one.
- Angelina Love threw out an open challenge to any Knockout in the locker room for a TNA Knockout Title Match. Brittany answered the challenge but came up short as Love took the win with Velvet Sky's help. Love and Sky humiliate Brittnay after the match with their trademarked lip stick smear and brown paper bag over the head routine. Gail Kim hits the ring and makes the save.
- Jeff "Willow" Hardy faced Magnus in a "Last Man Standing Match" continuing their feud. Hardy wins as Bram is disgusted with Magnus losing again.
- James Storm and Mr. Anderson had a beer drinking contest. Anderson who was secretly drinking non-alcoholic beer ends up attacking Storm once Storm was drunk enough to attack and lays him out.
- Eric Young battled Bobby Lashley in the main event. Lashley picks up the win. Young gets beat down again by the trio till Austin Aries tries to make the save. Aries ends up getting beat down again too. Impact ends with MVP, King and Lashley celebrating as they dominated the whole show.
Quick Match Results:
- TNA Knockouts Title: Angelina Love (c) def. Brittany by pin.
- Austin Aries def. MVP by DQ.
- "Last Man Standing Match": Jeff "Willow" Hardy def. Magnus by pin.
- Bobby Lashley def. Eric Young by pin.
Twitter Corner:
- Bobby Roode sent out a tweet this week about his current suspension by MVP. Roode tweeted "Week 2 of my Bull S*** suspension.... @The305MVP you do realize, you can't keep me gone forever......." Roode looks like a man on a mission and has his sights set on the current money man of TNA.
- Dixie Carter tweeted out her comments on tonight after the show on Twitter with the following. "@REALBully5150 must REALLY love tables… he went through another one." I'm sure Bully has revenge on his mind, and a table with Dixie and Ethan's names on it.
That will wrap this week's recap of TNA Impact up. I will be back next Friday afternoon with another TNA Impact recap. The Windians are back, the Windians are back! To my umpiring brothers that they call "Blue", great call. The Tribe won in unusual fashion 11-10 against the Tigers on a balk call in 13 innings. Yes I said balk! To use the words of David Murphy, "I don't even know where to start with this game". Murphy continued with, "I don't know if that was a baseball game, marathon combined with a circus." So let me just take it here. Ryan Rayburn was at the plate with the base loaded in the bottom of the 13th inning of a WWE-style slobberknocker. The game ended with Detriot's reliever, Al Alburquerque, balking by "false starting" and "shifting his hips", scoring Asdrubal Cabrera. The Indians swept the Tigers 3-0 in the series. The Tribe improved to 22-25 for the season, with Detroit still leading the division 27-15 and Cleveland 7.5 behind. The Indians open up a four game set tonight in Baltimore against the Orioles.
-Danny Green for three!!! The Spurs guard was the star of Game 2, knocking down 7 3-pointers in the San Antonio Spurs 112-77 blowout victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder were in this game in the first half until the Spurs pushed to a 14 point lead at the half. Green finished with 21 points, while Tony Parker chipped in 22 points and Tim Duncan added 14 points and 12 rebounds. Oklahoma City's "others" struggled again, with the starters not named Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scoring a total of 4 points. Durant and Westbrook also struggled, only scoring 15 points each. Game 3 will be Sunday night in Oklahoma City. It will be a must win for the Thunder because no team in NBA history has ever gone down 3-0 in a series and come back to win it.

-The shot heard 'round the world happened for the 3rd time in 4 years for the Cavs last night. With only a 1.7% of landing the number one pick in this years NBA draft...BOOM went the dynamite! Now who do the Cavs select? Jabari Parker? Andrew Wiggins? Sign and Trade for Kevin Love? Cleveland has a loaded weapon and is ready to pull the trigger on a big name player. But who will be the next Cavs head coach? Can Cleveland sign Kyrie Irving to a extension? Let the rumors fly and only time will tell.
-The bats of the Indians came alive last night, beating the Detroit Tigers 6-2. Trevor Bauer recorded his first win of the season with 6 innings pitched, giving up 7 hits, 2 runs and 5 strikeouts. Nick Swisher, Asdrubal Cabrera and Michael Bourn each recorded 2 hits. Right fielder David Young went yard in the 7th. The Indians will finish the series against Detroit today, with the game starting at 12:05.
-Minnesota has been awarded the 2018 Super Bowl by NFL owners. The Vikings new home is will open in 2016. The total cost of the stadium is $975 million dollars. The stat that gets me is that the stadium will seat 65,400 people but is expandable to seat 72,000. Expandable stadiums? Wow!
-Lawyers representing a group of over 600 retired NFL players are seeking a class action lawsuit, claiming the NFL provided them with narcotics and painkillers. The lawsuit states the league administered the drugs illegally without prescriptions and without warning players of the side effects. Notable players are from 1986 Bears team Jim McMahon and Hall of Famer Richard Dent.
-With the NFL owners meetings going on, playoff expansion is on the table. Playoff expansion is expected to happen in the 2015 season. Under the current postseason format, 12 of the NFL's 32 teams make the postseason. The proposal will increase to have 14 teams make the playoffs. This expansion will need to be voted on by owners and seek approval by the NFLPA. I do think this will pass with flying colors. More money for the league, more money for the extra 2 teams who make the playoffs, which means extra money for those owners. And I'm sure those players from those extra 2 teams that make the playoffs want a ring.
-The Miami Heat defeated the Indiana Pacers 87-83 to tie the series 1-1. Lebron James scored 22 points for the Heat and Dwayne Wade had a team high of 23. All five of the Pacers starters scored in double digits, with Lance Stephenson scoring a game high of 25 points. The Pacers only scored 16 points in the second quarter. Even though this game was tight throughout, the Heat outscored the Pacers 25-20. And Lebron James came through in the clutch, scoring 12 of his 22 in the final quarter. The series heads to Miami with Game 3 starting on Saturday.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.20.14: WWE Raw
Cheerio!
Wrestling Lockup with Brandon comes to you today with the WWE RAW recap from last night. RAW took place last night in jolly old England. Last week, Daniel Bryan, announced to the WWE Universe that he would need neck surgery, and wasn't sure what the outcome would be. Stephanie McMahon, announced that tonight on RAW, the status of Bryan's WWE World Heavyweight Championship would be revealed. The Shield dominated Evolution and the RAW heel locker room last week. How will Evolution retaliate tonight? John Cena and Bray Wyatt continued their feud that will lead towards a "Last Man Standing Match" at WWE Payback. Over in the Divas Division, Alicia Fox, showed a dark side last week on current WWE Divas Champion, Paige. Here is last night's recap.
Highlights of RAW:
- RAW opened up with another promo and sing along by Bray Wyatt on John Cena. Cena hit the ring and cleaned house on The Wyatt's, chasing them from the ring. Cena will face Luke Harper later in the main event.
- Stephanie McMahon orders WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan, to be at RAW next week. Stephanie will do a final evaluation on Bryan on whether his neck surgery will cause him to not be able to compete in title defenses. If Bryan can't compete then he will be stripped of the championship.
- The Shield vs Evolution feud heated up as Rollins faced Batista. Triple H was special guest ring announcer and Orton special guest time keeper. Reigns and Ambrose evened the odds for Rollins as they did special guest commentary. Rollins wins by DQ as both factions brawled.
- A "Beat The Clock" Tournament was held with the superstar who wins their match with the best time receiving a WWE I-C Title Match at WWE Payback against WWE I-C Champion, Bad News Barrett. RVD, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Mark Henry, Ryback and Big E were the six competitors. RVD would go on to finish with the best time. Bad News Barrett arrived and gave some "Bad News" to RVD as he laid out "Mr. Monday Night".
- More Adam Rose shenanigans with Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter.
- Summer Rae returned and interfered in Fandango's match. Rae and Layla had a CATFIGHT!!
- Alicia Fox dominated WWE Divas Champion, Paige.
- Rusev crushed Heath Slater and remains undefeated.
- Main Event saw John Cena defeat Luke Harper by DQ. The Wyatt Family attacked Cena in and out of the ring. Bray delivered "Sister Abigail" to Cena on the stage. Bray sang to the fans as Harper made a ten count on John Cena hyping the Last Man Standing Match to close the show out.
Quick Match Results:
- Cesaro def. Sheamus by pin.
- "Beat The Clock": Big E def. Ryback by pin in 5:02
- R-Truth and Cameron vs Fandango and Layla went to a no-contest.
- Rusev def. Heath Slater by submission.
- "Beat The Clock": RVD def. Alberto Del Rio by pin in 4:88.
- Seth Rollins def. Batista by DQ.
- Alicia Fox def. Paige by pin.
- "Beat The Clock": Dolph Ziggler def. Mark Henry by pin. Ziggler failed to beat 4:88 making RVD the winner.
- John Cena def. Luke Harper by DQ.
WWE News and Rumors:
- WWE is already talking about a small price raise on the WWE Network monthly price. I personally would still keep the Network even if it happened. I have enjoyed every bit of my WWE Network.
- I mentioned on Saturday that The Rock, Rikishi and Mickie James are possible candidates for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015. You can now add Kevin Nash's name to that list of possible choices.
- WWE took a hit in the stocks this weekend. It was reported that Vince McMahon lost $350 million dollars on Friday, knocking Vinnie Mac out of the billionaire bracket.
And that wraps up this edition. I'll be back with more WWE News and the Smackdown England recap Saturday. Till then, bloody tap or snap.

Indians OF Michael Brantley, Spurs F Tim Duncan, ex-Brown Josh Cooper, new Browns Jourdan Brooks & Anthony Armstong
-The San Antonio Spurs opened up the Western Conference Finals with a big time 122-105 over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs were clicking all over, with Tim Duncan leading the charge with 27 points. Tony Parker added 14 points and 12 assists. Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green chipped in 16, apiece. Manu Ginobili had 18 of the Spurs 43 bench points. For the Thunder, Kevin Durant had 28 points in 41 minutes, while Westbrook scored 25. Three Thunder starters had a total of 5 points. FIVE POINTS! That is not going to get it done against a team like San Antonio. Game 2 will be Wednesday at 9 PM.
-No one had seen the Indians' closer-by-committee since May 11. Maybe that was a blessing in disguise. The committee resurfaced Monday night long enough for Cody Allen to blow a save in the ninth inning as he gave up a pinch-hit homer to J.D. Martinez. Undaunted, the Indians bounced back to beat the Tigers, 5-4, on Michael Brantley's two-out homer in the 10th off Al Alburquerque's 3-2 pitch. Brantley's homer, a shot into the Tiger bullpen in right field, was his ninth of the season and broke a four-game losing streak for the Tribe. The loss ended Detroit's six-game winning streak and 11-game winning streak on the road. The Indians were two outs from victory when Allen gave up a game-tying pinch-hit homer to J.D. Martinez with one out in the ninth to tie the score, 4-4 and ruin a strong start by Corey Kluber. Ian Kinsler followed with a two-out double, but Allen struck out Torii Hunter to end the inning. The Tribe will battle the Motor City Kitties again tonight at 7 PM.
-Browns WR Josh Gordon Will participate In OTAs/Minicamp while awaiting word on his possible suspension.
-The Browns made personal moves yesterday. A month after signing fullback Chris Pressley, the Browns released him on Monday as a part a raft of minor moves. The club signed seven players who participated in last weekend's rookie minicamp as tryouts and released eight other players. The biggest-name cuts were receiver Josh Cooper and Pressley. Cooper's release isn't a surprise given the recent signings of Andrew Hawkins, Nate Burleson, Miles Austin and Earl Bennett. But the decision to waive Pressley is curious.
New offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan prefers having a traditional fullback – the Browns went without one last season – and the club thought enough of Pressley to arrange a conference call after his signing. The Browns did sign Southern Illinois fullback Ray Agnew (5-foot-10, 247 pounds) as an undrafted free agent, but it's unclear why they chose to jettison Pressley two months prior to training camp. They still have converted fullback Chris Ogbonnaya on the roster.
Pressley, who debuted with Tampa Bay in 2009 as an unrestricted free agent, didn't play last season as he recovered from a knee injury. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 13, 2012 and opened last year on the club's physically unable to perform list. He returned to practice in November, but was waived Dec. 10, 2013.
Cooper caught 17 passes for 166 yards over two seasons with the Browns. He was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2012 after playing with Brandon Weeden at Oklahoma State. In addition, the team waived receiver Tori Gurley, running back Jamaine Cook, offensive linemen Anthony Dima and Michael Philipp, defensive lineman Elhadji Ndiaye and tight end Andre Smith.
The Browns signed seven players as well:
-WR Anthony Armstrong is 5-10, 185 pounds and officially entering his fourth NFL season out of West Texas A & M. Originally signed by Miami as an undrafted free agent in 2008, Armstrong has appeared in 35 games with 13 starts. He has totaled 54 receptions for 986 yards with five touchdowns. In 2010, he appeared in 15 games with Washington and recorded 44 receptions for 871 yards with three touchdowns. In college, he registered 145 receptions for 1,768 yards and nine touchdowns. A native of Carrollton, Texas, he graduated from Newman Smith High School.
-RB Jourdan Brooks is 6-0, 237 pounds and officially in his first NFL season out of Morgan State. Originally signed by Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent, Brooks spent 10 weeks on the Bengals practice squad in 2012. He spent two years at Rutgers and transferred to Morgan State, where his father was an all-conference linebacker for MSU's 1979 MEAC championship team. A native of Germantown, Md., Brooks graduated from Seneca Valley High School.
-WR Taylor Gabriel is a 5-8, 167-pound rookie out of Abilene Christian. He finished second in ACU history in career receptions (215), yards (3,027) and touchdown receptions (27). Gabriel ranked fourth in school history in total yards with 3,880, trailing Browns running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery, who is second with 4,569. Gabriel is a graduate of John Horn High School in Mesquite, Texas.
-OL Randall Harris is a 6-3, 296-pound rookie out of Towson. He started at both guard and tackle and earned all-conference honors, while blocking for Browns third-round pick Terrance West. Harris helped the Tigers advance to the 2014 FCS national championship game. A native of Lanham, Md., Harris graduated from DuVal High School.
-DL Jacobbi McDaniel is a 6-0, 293-pound rookie out of Florida State. He appeared in all 14 games last season and recorded one-half sack during the Seminoles' victory in the BCS championship game. McDaniel also starred in baseball in high school and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers during the 2009 MLB draft. A native of Greenville, Fla., McDaniel graduated from Madison County High School.
-DB Robert Nelson is a 5-9, 175-pound rookie out of Arizona State. Last season, he led the Sun Devils with six interceptions and earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors. He began his collegiate career at Louisiana-Monroe before transferring to ASU. A native of Lakeland, Fla., Nelson graduated from North Gwinnet High School.
-TE James Oboh is a 6-4, 250-pound rookie out of Towson. He appeared in 38 games and caught 50 passes for 811 yards with 10 touchdowns. He helped the Tigers advance to the 2014 FCS national championship game. A native of Olney, Md., Oboh graduated from Sherwood High School.
-Terry Francona decided it was time to shake the lineup up by moving Nick Swisher down to the 6th hole and Carlos Santana to the 7th spot in the batting order for the Indians. But the losing streak continued, with the Tribe losing 13-3 to the Athletics in their sweep in the 3 game series. Justin Masterson got the start for the Indians, but was pulled after going 4 1/3 innings giving up 7 runs on 7 hits. To be honest, I'm not gonna talk about the Indians again until they win.
-The Eastern Confernce Finals have started with the Miami Heat traveling to Indiana to face the Pacers. Indiana got off to a fast start, out scoring Miami 17-10 before the Heat were forced to take a timeout to slow the momentum of the Pacers. Indiana went up 30-24 after the first quarter, scoring the most points in the first period than any team in the 2014 playoffs. Indiana didn't stop in the second quarter, scoring 25 points. As a team the Pacers shot 60% from the field with Miami shooting 50%. Lebron James and Dwayne Wade had 26 of Miami's first half points. The Pacers had a more well-rounded scoring attack with Lance Stevenson, George Hill, Roy Hibbert scoring 12, 11 and 8 points respectively. The Pacers stayed aggressive throughout the rest of the game. Miami played a little too aggressive putting the Pacers at the "charity stripe", 37 times hitting 29 free throws. The Pacers had five people score in double figures with Paul George scoring 24. David West and Roy Hibbert both added 19. Dwayne Wade and Lebron James scored 27 and 25, respectfully. Pacers win this one easily 107-96 with Game 2 on Tuesday. Pacers lead the series 1-0.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.17.14: WWE Smackdown
The weekend is here! Hope everyone is enjoying it. It's Saturday and it's time for the WWE Smackdown recap of Wrestling Lockup with Brandon. Last night's show surprisingly didn't have much feud build up to WWE Payback, other then the Cena/Bray Wyatt feud.
Highlights of Smackdown:
-Cena and Bray Wyatt cut promos on each other. Cena makes up a song of his own to sing about Wyatt. Wyatt does his usual promo about Cena and his followers. Cena accepts Wyatt's "Last Man Standing Match" challenge for WWE Payback and agrees to face anyone of Wyatt's choosing in the main event later tonight.
- Cody Rhodes appears to again be turning heel soon as he lost to Jimmy Uso and was upset at his brother, Goldust, after their tag match with The Usos.
- Another Los Matadores vs 3MB comedy skit match.
- Nikki Bella and Nattie Neidhart met in a rematch from RAW with Eva Marie as special referee. Note to WWE, never....ever....ever let Eva referee again....ever.
- Batista sends a message to The Shield by viciously attacking Dolph Ziggler, after their match. Ziggler tastes a Batista Bomb in the ring and on top of the outside barricade.
- Damien Sandow cut an interesting promo after losing to Santino. Sandow says that he's always handcuffed, but he does everything for the company like a good little soldier. His mic gets cut off as Sandow says he's being held back and pretends to be handcuffed behind his back.
- Bray Wyatt chooses fellow Wyatt Family member, Erick Rowan, to face John Cena. The Wyatts surround the ring until The Usos come out and even the odds up for Cena. Cena wins the match and has a stare down with Bray Wyatt to close out the show.
Quick Match Results:
-The Usos def. The Rhodes Brothers by pin.

WWE News and Rumors:
-It will be decided on RAW what will become of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
-Sources are saying that The Rock may be WWE's top choice to headline the 2015 Hall of Fame class. Rikishi and Mickie James are also being rumored for the class.
-WWE has officially signed former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Prince Devitt. Prince will report to NXT once his work visa is cleared.
And that'll do it. I will return Tuesday with the RAW recap. RAW and Smackdown will be taking place in England this week for their European Tour. Until then, tap or snap.
Leadoff with Lee 5.17.14
Guess what's back? Leadoff with Lee!
Well the Cleveland Browns have been more active than a teenager going through puberty this past week.
-On May 12, the Browns released QB's Vince Young & Alex Tanney, DB Brandon Hughes, DL Brian Sanford and RB Fozzy Whitaker
-On May 13, the Browns inked pro bowl cornerback Joe Haden to a long term deal. Haden has been with the team since being picked 7th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. His new deal will keep him in Cleveland through the 2019 season. It's said that the deal is for $68 million, including $45 million guaranteed.
-On May 15, the Browns signed 2 time pro-bowl wide receiver Miles Austin, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys, and former Chicago Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett on Thursday.
-On May 16, Cleveland released WR Greg Little. Little had little success after his rookie season when he recorded 61 catches for 709 yards.
-Oh I can't forget about Josh Gordon, who is facing a season long suspension for testing positive for marijuana. This is not the first go round for Josh Gordon, he entered the league in the drug program coming out of college. Then he tested positive for the "Purple Drank". He was only suspended for 2 games with no pay and 2 additional games, but was able to play because the "Drank" wasn't on the banned substance list. Did you notice Josh deleted his twitter account?
-Oh and Johnny Manziel? You mean the guy who put Cleveland back on the map after LeBron left? So word on the street is, Johnny texted the Browns quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains and said "I wish you guys would come and get me.", "And hurry up and draft me because I want to be there" and "I want to wreck this league together". His statements were quickly forwarded to Browns owner Jimmy Haslem and he said "Pull the trigger". Therefore, prompting the trade up with Philadelphia to get Johnny. As I stated before, any first round quarterback will start for the Browns regardless if people say this is Brian Hoyer's job to lose. Act like a backup? Please, this is Johnny Cleveland time now. If it's not, why does he have the #1 selling jersey since he was drafted? Show me the money!
- The Cleveland Cavaliers made interim general manager David Griffin the permanent GM this week. Griffin, who is 41, took over as interim GM on February 6, 2014 when Chris Grant was fired from the position. His first move as GM was....
-Mike Brown was fired as the Cavaliers head coach on May 12. Brown was in his first season of a 5 year deal, in his second stint as Cavs coach. Do you think he cares? No, he's still getting paid about $20 million to sit at home. Did I say show me the money yet?
-Tribe pitcher Danny Salazar was optioned down to Triple A Columbus yesterday. The struggling Salazar is 1-4 with a 5.53 era. Trevor Bauer was brought up to replace Salazar and will make his first start on Tuesday to complete the 25 man roster.
-The Indians got molly-whopped by the Athletics Friday night, 11-1. Oakland put up 8 runs in the second inning on starting pitcher Zach McAllister. The Tribe's lone run cam in the first inning on a Nick Swisher solo shot. Hopefully they can turn things around tonight at 7 PM. Oakland is sending out Scott Kazmir against the Indians Josh Tomlin.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.16.14: TNA Impact
Welcome back to Wrestling Lockup with Brandon. It's Friday, and it's TNA Impact recap time. Last week on Impact we saw MVP reveal to the world that he was the #1 Contender to Eric Young's TNA World Title. MVP attacked EY and put himself in the main event for the world title at Slammiversary. Kurt Angle appeared to have blown out his knee in his match with Ethan Carter III. Magnus' friend, Bram, viciously attacked Jeff "Willow" Hardy. Knux debuted with his carnival freak faction, The Menagerie. Mr. Anderson and James Storm would meet this week in one on one action.
Highlights of Impact:
- Eric Young tries to confront MVP as he arrived to the arena, however, security pulled EY away from MVP. EY says all MVP had to do was ask for a title shot instead of attacking him like he did. MVP says he'll let EY hold the title for a couple more weeks till he takes it from him. Later in the show, EY and MVP, begin brawling with each other backstage and down to the ring. MVP leaves EY laid out in the ring and tells EY he's defending the title tonight against MVP.
- Dixie and Rockstar Spud arrive at Dixie's house to find a table with her name on it in her yard. Bully Ray calls Dixie on her phone and claims to be in her house. Dixie orders Spud to go in and investigate cause she signs his paychecks. Bully calls back later to tell Dixie that Spud is a little tied up and she's all alone. Dixie finds Spud tied up and is finally face to face with Bully. Bully says he'll leave her alone and move on after she admits to the world that she fears Bully. Ethan Carter III knocks Bully out from behind and Dixie says that she fears no one.
- Jeff "Willow" Hardy looks to get revenge on Magnus and his friend, Bram, after Bram handcuffed and beat Hardy down last week. Hardy succeeds after Magnus refuses to use a crowbar that Bram tries to make Magnus use. Magnus and Bram argue after the match.
- Gail Kim steps up and challenges The Beautiful People. Kim beats Sky but gets laid out by Love after the match.
- Knux and his carnival freak faction returned as Menagerie member, Crazy Steve, faced Kazarian. This match honestly was a waste of time and more of a comedy act.
- Eric Young defeats MVP by DQ in the main event after Kenny King attacks EY. MVP ordered the match restarted but the referee refused. King knocks out the referee and joins in on the attack with MVP on EY. Bobby Lashley hits the ring to make the save for EY. Lashley, however, turns on EY and spears him. Lashley puts EY through two chairs with a powerslam then poses with MVP and King to close out Impact.
Quick Match Results:
- "Handicap Match": Willow def. Magnus and Bram by pin.
- Gail Kim def. Velvet Sky by pin.
- Kazarian def. Crazy Steve by DQ.
- James Storm def. Mr. Anderson by pin.
- TNA X-Division Title "Triple Threat Match": Sanada (c) def. Tigre Uno and DJ Z by pin to retain the title.
- TNA World Title: Eric Young (c) def. MVP by DQ.
TNA News and Rumors:
- Kurt Angle under went surgery this week to repair his torn ACL. Angle is expected to be out of action till October. Angle's TNA contract expires around that time frame so it is unknown where he will return to action, TNA, WWE or GFW.
- MVP tweeted out this week that he has suspended Bobby Roode indefinitely after Roode's actions last week.
- Kazarian and Hernandez have both officially left TNA. Both superstars contracts expired and both didn't resign.
- Dixie Carter sent out a tweet this week stating that MMA Fighter, Rampage Jackson, may be returning to TNA soon.
And that is a wrap my friends. I will return with more TNA News next Friday with another TNA Impact recap. Till then, tap or snap.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.13.14: WWE Raw
"Boo-tista, Boo-tista, Boo-tista!"
What's up gang, hope everyone had a nice weekend. And I hope everyone stayed safe and everyone wasn't too flooded by the huge storm we had last night in the Cleveland area. I suffered a flooded basement but thankfully nothing major.
Moving ahead, It's Tuesday, that means it's RAW recap time in this edition. Last week Kane tried to attack Daniel Bryan as Daniel and his wife, Brie Bella, left the arena. Bray Wyatt played more mind games with John Cena. Sheamus captured the U.S. Title from Dean Ambrose. The Shield were laid to waste in the center of the ring by Evolution after battling The Wyatt Family. Adam Rose and his party posse made an in ring debut, interrupting Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger. What would this week's RAW have in store?
Highlights of RAW:
- RAW kicked off with The Shield jumping Evolution in the parking garage, right as they arrived in their limo. WWE officials rush in to pull apart the two factions. The Shield again jump Evolution from behind in the ring, later in the show, after Triple H announces Evolution vs The Shield at WWE Payback. Reigns and Batista will meet in the main event later.
- WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan, announces to the WWE Universe that as of this Thursday he will have to have neck surgery. Bryan isn't sure how long he'll be gone and says how this could possibly be the end of his career. Bryan says he'll beat the odds and promises to be back. Later in the show Stephanie McMahon orders Daniel Bryan to forfeit his title to her. Kane instead came out, dragging Daniel Bryan's battered and beaten body and left him on the stage unconscious. Bryan is stretchered out of the arena. No word before RAW went off the air on what will become of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
- John Cena and The Usos faced The Wyatt Family in a rematch from Smackdown. Cena and The Usos win and Bray thanks Cena for winning the match. Bray says he now knows what he has to do to Cena.
- Newly crowned U.S. Champ, Sheamus, pulls double duty.
- Big E saved Hall of Famer, Hacksaw Jim Duggan from getting "crushed" by Rusev.
- Adam Rose and his party posse arrive again and continue to be a thorn in Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger's side as Rose cost Swagger his match against RVD.
- Reigns vs Batista ends in a no contest as all hell broke loose. The Shield beat down Evolution until Stephanie McMahon sends out all the heels in the RAW locker room to help Evolution. The Shield with steel chairs in hand fight off the whole heel locker room and chase Evolution from the ring. RAW closes out with The Shield triple power bombing Ryback as Evolution looks on from the entrance ramp.
Quick Match Results:
- RVD def. Jack Swagger by pin.
- Paige def. Alicia Fox by pin.
- "Six Man Tag": John Cena and The Usos def. The Wyatt Family by pin.
- Nikki Bella def. Nattie Neidhart by pin.
- Sheamus def. Curtis Axel by submission.
- Sheamus def. Ryback by pin.
- Dolph Ziggler def. Fandango by pin.
- Cody Rhodes def. Damian Sandow by pin.
- Reigns vs Batista ends in a no contest.
WWE News and Rumors:
- There is backstage talk about WWE throwing around the idea of unifying the WWE U.S. Title and WWE I.C. Title again. My opinion is they may as well, considering at one time Dean Ambrose held the U.S. Title for almost a year and probably defended it as many times as you could count on one hand. For some reason the mid card titles just aren't as credible as they were back in the day.
- More Sting rumblings this week. Rumor is, Sting may, for the first time ever, appear in a WWE ring as SummerSlam gets closer. Nothing official has even been mentioned and nothing official about Sting even signing a contract with WWE yet has been mentioned. Sting has been appearing on WWE Network shows however making you wonder if he in fact is a WWE employee now. Many hardcore wrestling fans are still clamoring for a Sting vs Undertaker match at Wrestlemania 31. With Undertaker's current injury status and the streak being over, not sure if there is an interest or even enough gas in Taker's tank to do it.
- The Miz and Summer Rae are expected to make their return to WWE soon. Sources say as soon as the European tour kicks off this week. Both The Miz and Rae were involved in the filming of The Marine 4. The Miz reprises his role from The Marine 3.
That will do it for the RAW recap in this edition of Wrestling Lockup with Brandon. I will be back with more WWE action Saturday for the Smackdown recap. Till then, tap or snap.

Patrick's Perspective, 5.11.14: Johnny Manziel & The Cleveland Browns
HOW YA DOIN' JOHNNY !?!?!?!
Selfishly, I was wanting the Browns to draft Johnny Manziel. I have been pro Johnny for quite sometime, however since December, with all of the draft talk, listening to countless hours of local sports talk radio regarding the draft the moment finally arrived. When Roger Goodell announced the 22nd pick of the 2014 NFL draft I was ecstatic!
Since 1999, the team I love has been deplorable. The losing, the drama, the coaching & front office carousels, and the 20+ QB's has been something no other franchise has experienced in such a short amount of time. I remember when I was a kid in the 80's and watching those Browns. When you compare that era with the current it is night and day. I will admit I am a homer and eternal optimist. But, I truly feel this draft will FINALLY change my favorite, OUR favorite team for the conceivable future.
Browns fans I introduce to you, Johnny Manziel!!!!!!
This kid has it. I remember watching him early on in the 2012 season when he was a redshirt freshman and was like damn, who is this kid? And after watching him make play after play. You could tell he was special. Just the way he plays the game he brings a different kind of talent, swagger, moxie, attitude - (I'm going to run out of adjectives) He knows when to scramble, he is not afraid of taking risks, he has a good arm. HE HAS IT! My personal favorite part of his talent is the way he delivers the long ball. If you watched him extensively through his career when he throws the ball long he is always leading his receiver perfectly where the receiver has to run to the ball as opposed to the receiver making an adjustment on something under thrown. I know there is film where he will take risks and throw it up for a jump ball but that is different. That is when he makes something happen out of nothing.
For the fans that do not like Johnny, I can see where you may have your doubts. He is too small. He is too cocky. He runs too much. He takes risks. He was picked at 22 like other Browns QB's that failed. And that is fine. I get it. However I do not agree with any of that stuff. Any QB can get hurt at any time regardless of style of play. Please keep in mind that the perception of winning a championship in the NFL the QB has to be 6'4", 225 with a cannon arm and sit in the pocket. Has that criteria for a QB won a Superbowl? Yes, several. But I ask this question, what type of QB won the Superbowl last year? Russell Wilson. A QB just like Johnny. And whom he beat was your proto-typical QB in Peyton Manning. The game is evolving folks and teams will adapt. Johnny is perfect for the way the game is changing.
Browns fans this is exactly what Cleveland needed. Get ready as this is going to be a fun ride!!!

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 5.10.14: WWE Smackdown
It's Saturday and you know what that means. It's time for another WWE Smackdown recap. Last night we seen newly crowned U.S. Champion, Sheamus, in action. John Cena made one of his once in awhile Smackdown visits. All three members of The Shield were in one on one action. More storyline build up for WWE Payback in June. It's looking like we will be seeing rematches of Cena/Wyatt, Kane/Bryan and The Shield/Evolution for the special event.
Highlights of Smackdown:
- U.S. Champion, Sheamus, gave former champion, Dean Ambrose, his rematch for the U.S. Title. I think Sheamus has already defended the title more then Ambrose did when he had it (Sarcasm). Reigns and Rollins sat this one out as Ambrose rolled solo.
- Cesaro and Bad News Barrett continued their feuds with RVD and Big E as they were teamed up in tag team action. RVD accidentally kicks Big E in the face costing them the match.
- More "crushing" from Rusev as his undefeated streak continued on Kofi Kingston.
- Bray Wyatt cuts a promo on John Cena talking about judgment and about no one coming back from where they are going.
- The other two members of The Shield were in action as Reigns battled Mark Henry and Rollins battled Batista. Reigns showed unbelievable strength as he lifted Henry and Samoan Dropped him with ease. Rollins wasn't as lucky as he crashed and burned into the announcers table then suffered a huge Batista Bomb and appeared injured after the match.
- The Wyatt Family continued their feud with John Cena in the main event in a six man tag. Cena teamed up with The Usos but they came up short.
Quick Match Results:
- WWE U.S. Title: Sheamus (c) def. Dean Ambrose by pin.
- Cesaro and Bad News Barrett def. RVD and Big E by pin.
- Rusev def. Kofi Kingston by submission.
- Fandango and Layla def. Santino and Emma by pin.
- Roman Reigns def. Mark Henry by pin.
- Los Matodores def. 3MB by pin.
- Batista def. Seth Rollins by countout.
- The Wyatt Family def. The Usos and John Cena by pin.
WWE News and Rumors:
- AJ Lee was advertised to return for the upcoming WWE European Tour but now she has been taken off the advertisements.
- Possible rumor going around is Sheamus might be taking Batista's spot in Evolution when Batista takes time off.
- Speaking of Sheamus, rumor going around was that he and Sin Cara were involved in a backstage fight this week, where Sin Cara beat up Sheamus. Sheamus responded on Twitter stating that he didn't remember fighting and that was just the way they hug things out. So if it didn't happen, but that's how you hug things out? Then it must have happened? Sounds like someone is embarrassed that a little fella got the best of them.
- WWE will be releasing a new DVD/Blu-Ray in the coming weeks. Greatest Wrestling Factions will be the title. The DVD/Blu-Ray will cover some of the best factions in wrestling history. Some of the factions included are: D-X, The Four Horsemen, nWo, The Freebirds, Nation of Domination, The Heenan Family, Evolution and others.
- All you CM Punk fans, rumor has it that one of Punk's close friends has gone on the record stating Punk is officially retired. Again no official word from Punk himself.
That'll wrap things up for this edition of Wrestling Lockup with Brandon. I'll return Tuesday for the RAW recap and more WWE News. Till then tap or snap.
Leadoff with Lee 5.10.14
-In Day 2 of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns made three additions to the team. In the second round at pick 35, they selected offensive tackle Joel Bitonio from Nevada. Bitonio is 6'4", 302 pounds and is said to have a "mean and nasty" style of play. He may outplay Mitchell Schwartz and/or Jason Pinkston and take the starting spot. The third round seen the Browns selecting linebacker Chris Kirksey from Iowa. Kirksey is a hard hitter, but weighing in around 230 pounds some think that he may be able to play safety as well. Lastly on Friday, the Browns traded up into the late third round to pick up running back Terrence West at 30. From Towson, West may appear short in stature at only 5'9", 225 pounds, but makes up for it in speed and powerful running. Many say he comparable to Maurice Jones-Drew. Rounds 4-7 start at Noon today.
-Browns Wide Receiver Josh Gordon faces a 1 year suspension from the NFL after allegedly failing a drug test. The drug he supposedly tested positive for is marijuana. Gordon entered the league in the NFL substance abuse program for testing positive for weed, before being drafted in the supplemental draft, which put him in stage 1 of the program. Josh Gordon then tested positive for "purple drank", a drinkable codeine cough syrup mixture, but was only suspended for 2 games last season for the offense. Purple drank was not on the banned substance list at that point in time. Gordon led the NFL last season in receiving yards with 1,646 yards.
-Former Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel has been named the new President of Youngstown State University. Tressel was the head football coach for the Penguins from 1985-2000 before leaving to become head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
-The Ohio State Buckeyes football team had 2 players go in the 1st round on Thursday. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected linebacker Ryan Shazier with the 15th overall pick and cornerback Bradley Roby going 31st to the Denver Broncos. On Friday, the San Francisco 49ers selected running back Carlos Hyde in the 2nd round with the 26th pick in the round and 57th overall.
-The Indiana Pacers go up 2-1 in the series as the showed the Washington Wizards some magic last night winning 85-63, in the Eastern Conferece semis. Paul George had a game high of 23 points and 8 rebounds. On the defensive end, Roy Hibbert had 5 rebounds with 3 blocks on top of his 15 points. Washington's John Wall didn't help with 5 turnovers for the game and 6 points. Game 4 will be Sunday night in Washington.
-The late game seen the Los Angeles Clippers taking a 2-1 series lead, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 118-112. It was a very chippy game that seen a lot of shoving and even the bloodying of Blake Griffin's nose. Griffin however had a great game with 34 points. Chris Paul had 21 points and 16 assists, while Jamal Crawford added 20 off the bench. Kevin Durant led all scores with 36 but just wasn't enough to overcome the Clippers. Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka had 23 and 20 points, respectively. Game 4 will be Sunday afternoon in L.A.
-The Cleveland Indians beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-3 in Tampa yesterday. Asdrubal Cabrera went 3-4 with two runs scored. Mike Aviles was 1-3, but his one hit scored 3 RBIs with his homerun. Corey Kluber started and got the win for the Tribe. He improves back to .500 evening his record to 3-3. Kluber had 9 strikeouts! Can we say lights out?
