WWE Backlash Recap #WWEBacklash

We have returned to the Windy City for night number two of the WWE's two night extravaganza in Chicago, Illinois. WWE Backlash, was live at the Allstate Arena on the WWE Network. NXT set things up with yet another incredible show on Saturday night. Can WWE deliver on their half with Smackdown Live's roster looking to grab the spotlight.

** WWE Backlash Card **

- WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton defended his title against Jinder Mahal.
- WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens defended his title against AJ Styles.
- WWE Smackdown Live World Tag Team Champions The Usos defended their titles against Breezango.
- Shinsuke Nakamura made his Smackdown Live wrestling debut battling Dolph Ziggler.
- Charlotte, Becky Lynch and WWE Smackdown Live Women's Champion Naomi battled Carmella, Nattie Neidhart and Tamina in a Six Woman Tag Team Match.
- Baron Corbin battled Sami Zayn.
- Luke Harper battled Erick Rowan.
- Tye Dillinger battled Aiden English.

** WWE Backlash Pre-Show **

- Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English: The match closes out with Dillinger hitting ten corner punches on English. English escapes to the floor and gets Dillinger to follow him, allowing English to toss Dillinger outside. English goes to the top rope, but gets tossed off by Dillinger. Dillinger misses a top rope splash then gets sent into the mat by English for a near fall. English gets frustrated and starts talking trash to Dillinger. English slams Dillinger then goes to the top rope. English misses the aerial move and then misses again charging at Dillinger. Dillinger hits the Tye Breaker on English and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Tye Dillinger, by pinfall.

** WWE Backlash **

- Dolph Ziggler vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: The match closes out with Ziggler getting a near fall Zig Zag. Ziggler and Nakamura trade counters until Nakamura hits a knee and a kick to the head on Ziggler. Ziggler counters an Exploder suplex and plants a super kick on Nakamura, getting a near fall. Ziggler and Nakamura trade offensive moves until Nakamura plants a knee to the face of Ziggler. Nakamura attempts a Kinshasa off the ropes, but Ziggler moves. Nakamura dodges a Ziggler super kick and hits an inverted Exploder suplex. Nakamura delivers the Kinshasa on Ziggler and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall.

- "WWE Smackdown Live World Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) vs. Breezango: The match closes out with Fandango landing a kick on Key for a near fall. Jey misses a corner splash allowing Fandango to get a near fall DDT. Breeze and Fandango double team Jey until he fights back and tags in Jimmy. The Usos double team Breeze and catch a near fall. Breeze and Jey trade offense until Breeze hits an Unprettier for a near fall. Breeze leaps off the apron onto The Usos, but gets dumped over the barricade. Fandango flies off the apron and takes out The Usos next. Back in the ring, Fandango gets shoved off the top rope by Jey, allowing Jimmy to hit the Uso Kick for the pinfall.
Winners: The Usos, by pinfall, to retain the WWE Smackdown Live World Tag Team Championship.

- Baron Corbin vs. Sami Zayn: The match closes out with Zayn blocking a superplex off the ropes and hits Corbin with a sunset flip power bomb for a near fall. Corbin blocks a corner DDT by Zayn. Corbin then blocks an Exploder suplex attempt by Zayn next. Zayn rolls up Corbin and gets a near fall. Corbin catches Zayn and drills him with Deep Six for a near fall. Corbin unloads stomps on Zayn and then unloads forearms. The referee warns Corbin as he begins to land more stomps on Zayn. Corbin charges, but Zayn tosses Corbin out to the floor. Corbin gets back into the ring and eats a kick by Zayn. Zayn hits the Helluva Kick on Corbin and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Sami Zayn, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers arrive. Mahal mocks Chicago, says he'll take the fans hatred for him and make it a positive and he's going to make everyone across the world understand what the 1.3 billion people of India already know, that Mahal is the modern day Maharaja.

- "Six Woman Tag Team Match": Naomi, Charlotte and Becky Lynch vs. Carmella, Tamina and Nattie Neidhart: The match closes out with Naomi hot tagging Becky. Becky unloads on all three members of the Welcoming Committee. Becky hits uppercuts and the Bexploder suplex on Nattie for a near fall. Tamina tries to knock Becky off the top rope, but gets sent flying off the apron. Nattie takes control of Becky and attempts the Sharpshooter submission. Becky counters and locks Nattie in the DisArmHer submission. Carmella breaks up the submission, but gets tossed outside by Charlotte. Tamina plants a super kick on Charlotte then hits a head butt on Naomi. Becky and Nattie trade offense until Becky drops Tamima, as she tries to interfere again. Nattie drops Becky, locks in the Sharpshooter submission and makes Becky tap out. 
Winners: Carmella, Nattie Neidhart and Tamina, by submission.

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Kevin Owens (c) vs. AJ Styles: The match closes out with Styles failing on a Phenomenal Forearm attempt as his leg that Owens worked on in the match goes out. Owens gets a near fall, kicks Styles around and talks trash. Styles catches Owens right in the face with a Pele Kick as Owens talked trash. Styles goes to the corner, but Owens attacks and takes Styles down with a suplex for a near fall. Owens climbs the ropes, but Styles rolls onto the apron. Styles counters Owens and suplexes him on the apron, sending himself and Owens to the floor. Owens tosses Styles into the timekeepers area, but Styles flies back and nails a forearm. Styles grabs Owens and attempts the Styles Clash right on the announcers table. Owens counters by grabbing Styles' leg and trapping it in between a gap in the table. Styles is trapped as Owens rolls back into the ring and wins by countout. After the match, Owens drills Styles with a super kick to the head while he's still trapped in the table, as he leaves ringside.
Winner: Kevin Owens, by countout.

- Erick Rowan vs. Luke Harper: The match closes out with Harper hitting a tilt a whirl slam for a near fall. Rowan hits a spin kick and then a power bomb on Harper for a near fall. Rowan unloads on Harper, but Harper comes back and gets another near fall. Rowan and Harper trade shots back and forth, Harper unloads chops and then Rowan lands a gut shot on Rowan. Harper counters a power bomb and tosses Rowan across the ring. Harper hits a super kick on Rowan. Rowan looks to his sheep mask for motivation. Harper hits the Harper Lariat and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Luke Harper, by pinfall.

- "WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match": Randy Orton (c) vs. Jinder Mahal: The match closes out with Orton hitting the hanging DDT and measures up for the RKO. Mahal rolls outside where the Singh Brothers are. Orton heads outside and goes after Mahal from behind. Orton lands a slap and a kick on both Singh Brothers. Orton tosses one Singh Brother into the barricade and the other into the apron. Mahal attacks Orton from behind and tosses Orton back into the ring. Orton pops up and hits the RKO outta nowhere on Mahal. The Singh Brothers grab Mahal and pull him out of the ring before Orton can make the cover. Orton attacks the Singh Brothers again, tosses one over the announcers table and the other on top of the announcers table. Orton drags both Singh Brothers into the ring and drills them both with draping DDT's. Mahal grabs Orton from behind, hits the Cobra Clutch Slam and scores the upset pinfall to win the title.
Winner: Jinder Mahal, by pinfall, to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 4/20/17: NXT Recap

One week removed from Shinsuke Nakamura's NXT goodbye and now it's time for NXT to say goodbye to Tye Dillinger, as he moves on to Smackdown Live. Dillinger promises to settle things with his arch enemies Eric Young and SAnitY before he leaves as he steps inside a steel cage with SAnitY's mastermind.

** This Weeks Card **
- Andrade "Cien" Almas battled Danny Burch.
- Liv Morgan and Aliyah battled Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.
- Tye Dillinger battled Eric Young in a Steel Cage Match.

** Promos From: NXT World Champion Bobby Roode.

** NXT **

- Bobby Roode Promo: Roode takes full credit for NXT Takeover: Orlando being successful. Roode says he refused to be apart of Shinsuke Nakamura's goodbye last week because he didn't want to listen to Nakamura's lies. Roode mocks Nakamura and says he beat Nakamura twice and made him tuck tail and run out of NXT. Hideo Itami returns to NXT and interrupts Roode. Itami goes face to face with Roode and then lights Roode up with a slap to the face. Roode takes off his jacket, rolls up his sleeves and goes to attack Itami. Itami catches Roode and lays him out with Go 2 Sleep.

- Backstage, WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate and Jack Gallagher hype their title match for next week's NXT.

- Video footage is shown from earlier at the NXT Performance Center. Andrade "Cien" Almas mocks Drew McIntyre as McIntyre is lifting weights. McIntyre wants to fight, but Heavy Machinery hold McIntyre back as Almas laughs and walks off talking on his phone. 

- Andrade "Cien" Almas vs. Danny Burch: The match closes out with Burch unloading on Almas. Almas lands a forearm to the back of Burch's head. Almas sends Burch into the corner and then hits the running double knees on Burch. Almas hits the Hammerlock DDT on Burch and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Andrade "Cien" Almas, by pinfall.

- Liv Morgan and Aliyah vs. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce: The match closes out with Billie and Peyton working over and double teaming Aliyah. Liv finally seen enough and drop kicks Billie off the apron. Aliyah rolls up Peyton and gets the surprise pinfall.
Winners: Liv Morgan and Aliyah, by pinfall.

- "Steel Cage Match": Tye Dillinger vs. Eric Young: The match closes out with Young trying to escape the cage, but Dillinger stops Young. Dillinger delivers the Tye Breaker, lays Young out and goes to escape through the cage door. Wolfe and Dain of SAnitY hit ringside, take out the referee and stop Dillinger from escaping the cage. Kassius Ohno and Roderick Strong hit ringside and attack Wolfe and Dain. Dain climbs the steel cage wall, but gets drop kicked off by Dillinger. Dillinger takes out Young and then climbs to the top of the cage wall. Dillinger leaps off and takes out Young and Dain with a cross body. Wolfe climbs into the cage to go after Dillinger, but Dillinger escapes through the cage door and to the floor to win the match. After the match, Dillinger celebrates with Ohno, Strong and the NXT fans one more time to end the show.
Winner: Tye Dillinger, by escaping the steel cage.

Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 4/12/17: Smackdown Live Boston Recap

Day two of Draft Day is upon us ladies and gents! What an exciting first night of the "Superstar Shakup" WWE Draft gave us on Monday night! Smackdown Live may have lost some superstars to RAW, but now it's Smackdown Live's turn to strengthen their roster. What superstars will be gained for Smackdown Live tonight as we were live in Boston, Massachusetts.

** This Weeks Card **
- WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton battled Erick Rowan in a non title match.
- The Usos defended the WWE Smackdown Live World Tag Team Championship against American Alpha.
- Mojo Rawley battled Jinder Mahal.
- Tye Dillinger battled Aiden English.
- AJ Styles battled Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin in a Triple Threat Match to determine a #1 Contender for the WWE United States Championship.

- Promos By: WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens, Smackdown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon and Dolph Ziggler.

- Day Two of the "Superstar Shakeup" WWE Draft took place.

** Smackdown Live **

- After RAW ended on Monday night, it was announced that RAW announcer Byron Saxton had been drafted to Smackdown Live and Smackdown Live announcer David Otunga had been drafted to RAW.

- Kevin Owens Promo: RAW's WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens arrives to announce that the Kevin Owens Show is now on Smackdown Live and the show is now a huge upgrade with Owens here. Owens mocks the USA fans, the Boston Bruins and says he could beat up anyone here. Baron Corbin is out for the interruption, says he knows Owens can beat everyone up...but...he can't beat up Corbin. Corbin demands a WWE United States Championship Match because he feels he's owed one after beating WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose last week and then Ambrose ran to RAW.
RAW's Sami Zayn interrupts and announces that he's now on Smackdown Live, which angers Owens because he can't get away from his arch enemy. AJ Styles interrupts next and says that he's still here, he's still the reason Smackdown Live is #1 and he's still the face that runs the place. Daniel Bryan interrupts next and loves the tension in the ring right now. Bryan announces Styles vs. Corbin vs. Zayn tonight with the winner becoming #1 Contender to the WWE United States Championship.

- Randy Orton vs. Erick Rowan: The match closes out with Orton delivering the draping DDT to Rowan and then sets up for an RKO. The Wyatt Family graphic suddenly flashes on the TitanTron, the lights go out and Bray Wyatt taunts Orton on the screen. Bray says their paths will cross again at WWE Payback in the House of Horrors Match. The lights pop back on and Orton gets drilled with the steel steps by Rowan causing a DQ. After the match, Rowan leaves Orton laid out in the ring.
Winner: Randy Orton, by DQ.

- "WWE Smackdown Live World Tag Team Championship Match": The Usos (c) vs. American Alpha: The match closes out with Gable hitting a bulldog and Jordan getting the near fall. The Usos toss Jordan and Gable outside, The Usos attempt suicide dives, but both get suplexed on the floor. Back in the ring, Gable eats an Uso Kick, but comes back and dumps Jey on the apron. Gable rolls up Jimmy, but missed Jey tagging in. The Usos double team Gable and end up hitting the top rope Uso Splash for the pinfall and the title retain. After the match, RAW's Shining Stars, now apart of Smackdown Live, attack American Alpha from behind and leave Jordan and Gable laid out.
Winners: The Usos, by pinfall, to retain the WWE Smackdown Live World Tag Team Championship.

- Jinder Mahal vs. Mojo Rawley: RAW's Jinder Mahal arrives as a newly drafted superstar of Smackdown Live. Rob Gronkowski was in the crowd again cheering on Mojo. The match closes out with Mahal getting in Gronk's face again and talking trash. Mojo comes to Gronk's aid and decks Mahal. Gronk tosses his drink in Mahal's face and then Mojo tosses Mahal back into the ring. Mojo hits his finisher on Mahal and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Mojo Rawley, by pinfall.

- Shane McMahon Promo: Shane gives the Women's Division props and says he's here to introduce the newest members. Shane then calls out Naomi, Nattie Neidhart, Carmella and Becky Lynch to be present during the announcement. James Ellsworth is with Carmella, says Naomi is a horrible champion and everyone wants to see Carmella. Naomi tells Carmella to control her side chick before he gets chin checked. Shane first introduces a returning Tamina Snuka to the roster. Tamina appears and shakes Shane's hand. Shane then announces RAW's Charlotte as a new Smackdown Live superstar.

- It's announced that Sin Cara and Rusev have been drafted to Smackdown Live.

- Aiden English vs. Tye Dillinger: The match closes out with Dillinger hitting the Tye Breaker and scoring the pinfall.
Winner: Tye Dillinger, by pinfall.

- It's announced that Lana has been drafted to Smackdown Live.

- Dolph Ziggler Promo: Ziggler talks about the Superstar Shakeup, how he's not going anywhere and is still the best on Smackdown Live. Shinsuke Nakamura interrupts and heads to the ring. Ziggler says he doesn't know Nakamura, but wants to know who he thinks he is interrupting Ziggler. Nakamura asks Ziggler if he'd like to know who he is. Nakamura counters a Ziggler super kick attempt and drops Ziggler. Ziggler rolls to the floor and escapes Nakamura.



- It's announced that The New Day have been drafted to Smackdown Live.

- "Triple Threat, #1 Contenders Match": AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin: The match closes out with Corbin getting a near fall Deep Six on Zayn. Corbin misses a charge on Styles and hits the ring post. Styles lands a kick and then gets a near fall 450 springboard on Corbin. All three men brawl until Styles hits a Pele Kick on Zayn. Zayn counters the Styles Clash and dumps Styles onto the apron. Zayn hits the Helluva Kick on Corbin sending Corbin to the floor. Styles hits the Phenomenal Forearm on Zayn and scores the pinfall.
Winner: AJ Styles, by pinfall, to become the new #1 Contender to the WWE United States Championship.

Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 4/5/17: Smackdown Live Orlando Recap

The first Smackdown Live after Wrestlemania 33 is upon us this week. The Orton Era begins, in Orlando, Florida with Randy Orton as the newly crowned WWE World Heavyweight Champion. What will Orton have in store for us as he now goes from the Apex Predator to the champion with the target on his back?

** This Weeks Card **
- Naomi defended her WWE Smackdown Live Women's Championship against Alexa Bliss.
- "Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger made his main roster debut and battled Curt Hawkins.

- WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose battled Baron Corbin in a non title Street Fight Match.
- WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton and Luke Harper battled Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan.

- Promos By: New WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, The Miz and Maryse and WWE Commissioner Shane McMahon.

- A former NXT World Champion makes a surprise debut on Smackdown Live.

** Smackdown Live **

- Randy Orton Promo: Orton says he proved that he's Bray Wyatt's master and he'll never forget Orton's name. Bray appears on the TitanTron and says Orton is the master of nothing. Bray says he gets his rematch against Orton, is going to make it something special, will push Orton's mind to insanity, will twist him mentally and physically and one of them will be sentenced to eternal damnation. Bray challenges Orton to a House of Horrors Match and Orton accepts. Bray suddenly appears behind Orton, but Orton gets the upperhand. Erick Rowan suddenly pulls Orton outside and tosses Orton into the barricade. Rowan and Bray double team Orton until Luke Harper hits the ring and saves Orton. 

- Backstage, The Miz and Maryse continue to mock John Cena and Nikki Bella. Miz calls out the power couple and promises that this will be the last time you ever see them tonight.

- "WWE Smackdown Live Women's Championship Match": Naomi (c) vs. Alexa Bliss: The match closes out with Naomi hitting Rear View, but gets a near fall. Naomi flies off the top rope and takes out Alexa, but Alexa counters the split legged moonsault. Alexa goes after Naomi's knee and tries to steal a pinfall using the ropes for leverage. Naomi traps Alexa in a submission hold and forces Alexa to tap out to retain the title.
Winner: Naomi, by pinfall, to retain the WWE Smackdown Live Women's Championship.

- Curt Hawkins vs. Tye Dillinger: Before the match, Hawkins says he's sick of people talking about the draft, issues an open challenge and gives that person to the count of ten to come out. "Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger arrives making his main roster debut. The match closes out with Dillinger unloading ten corner punches on Hawkins. Dillinger hits the Tye Breaker on Hawkins and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Tye Dillinger, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Mojo Rawley is celebrating his Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal win. Mojo says this is just the beginning and has raised the bar.

- The Miz and Maryse Promo: Miz and Maryse come out dressed as John Cena and Nikki Bella. Miz and Maryse mock Cena and Nikki, their Wrestlemania wedding proposal and how they're leaving WWE for Hollywood. Shinsuke Nakamura's music hits and Nakamura makes his Smackdown Live debut. Miz and Maryse leave as Nakamura takes in the fans cheers and welcomes to Smackdown Live.

- "Street Fight Match" Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin: The match closes out with Ambrose whipping Corbin with a strap. Ambrose hits the elbow off the top rope onto Corbin outside. Ambrose puts Corbin on a bridged table and unloads punches. Ambrose hits the flying elbow off the top rope and puts Corbin through the table. Ambrose goes to the top rope, but gets crotched by Corbin this time. Corbin hits End of Days and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Baron Corbin, by pinfall.

- Shane McMahon Promo: Shane talks about the draft on RAW and every RAW superstar needs to hope they get drafted to Smackdown Live, the best show going. AJ Styles interrupts and heads to the ring. Styles says he doesn't want to go anywhere because he helped build Smackdown Live. Styles says no one from RAW will take that spot away from him. Styles then tells Shane he owes him something after their match at Wrestlemania 33. Styles extends his hand and Shane shakes it. Styles poses and leaves the ring.

- Randy Orton and Luke Harper vs. Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan: The match closes out with Orton going for the draping DDT on Rowan, but Bray makes the save. Orton hits the draping DDT on Bray instead and goes for the RKO. The lights suddenly go out in the arena. The lights pop back on and Bray is standing on the ramp. Rowan charges Orton, but Orton dodges Rowan. Harper hits a super kick on Rowan and Orton hits the RKO for the pinfall.
Winners: Randy Orton and Luke Harper, by pinfall.

NXT Takeover: Orlando #NXTTakeOverOrlando #NXTOrlando

Twas the night before Wrestlemania 33 and what a GLORIOUS night it was! NXT Takeover: Orlando was live at the Amway Center, in Orlando, Florida! NXT World Champion "The Glorious One" Bobby Roode defended his title against former 2 time NXT World Champion, the King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura. NXT Women's Champion Asuka, who one year ago tonight won the title, defended against Ember Moon. NXT World Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain defended their titles against The Revival and #DIY in a Triple Threat Elimination Match. Aleister Black made his NXT debut as he battled Andrade "Cien" Almas in a one on one match. Eric Young, Alexader Wolfe, Killian Dain and Nikki Cross aka SAnitY battled "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, No Way Jose and Ruby Riot in an Eight Person Tag Team Match.

** NXT Takeover: Orlando **

- Triple H is in the ring under a spotlight to kick off the show. Triple H says that tonight is our night, we make history, we show the world why we're NXT and tonight we are home!

- It was announced on the Takeover: Orlando Pre-Show that No Way Jose was viciously attacked earlier in the day by Eric Young at the Wrestlemania Axxess event and has not been cleared to wrestle tonight. William Regal gives Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong and Ruby Riot the chance to find a new partner for their Eight Person Tag Team Match tonight.

- "Eight Person Tag Team Match": SAnitY vs. Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, Ruby Riot and ????: Kassius Ohno is chosen as the mystery partner at the very last minute. The match closes out with Dillinger making the hot tag and unloads on everyone. Dillinger with a big DDT on Wolfe, hits a crossbody on Wolfe off the top rope and then suicide dives outside, taking out Eric Young. Dain attacks Dillinger, Strong makes the save, but Strong gets attacked by Wolfe. Ohno takes out Wolfe on the floor, but Ohno gets dropped by Dain on the floor. Ruby tries a suicide dive, but gets stopped by Nikki, so Ruby unloads on Nikki instead and both fall outside.
Dillinger corner mounts Young, unloads ten punches, drops Young and then super kicks Dain for a near fall. Ohno hits an elbow on Wolfe, but gets attacked by Young. Strong gets involved and plants a kick on Young, knocking Young out. Nikki jumps onto Strong's back as Ruby jumps on Dain's back. Nikki goes after Ruby, but gets tossed outside. Nikki hits a dropkick on Ruby, as Ruby followed Nikki outside. Dain stops Dillinger from hitting the Tye Breaker on Wolfe, drills Dillinger into the mat and scores the pinfall.
Winners: SAnitY, by pinfall.

- Aleister Black vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas: The match closes out with Almas in control of Black, taking him to the corner and unloading. Almas goes for a charge, but Black moves, Almas hits the turnbuckle and Black gets a near fall. Almas and Black trade shots back and forth and then they plant kicks on each other at the same time, dropping both men to the mat. Both men are up, trade offense until Almas plants a kick right to the back of Black's neck. Almas tosses Black into the corner, charges and hits double knees on Black. Black counters a DDT, but Almas counters back with a snapping german suplex for a near fall. Black is up, connects with jumping knees on Almas and then drills Almas with a boot. Almas and Black trade more offense until Black puts Almas down face first to the mat. Black hits a spinning kick to the face of Almas and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Aleister Black, by pinfall.

- "NXT World Tag Team Championship, Triple Threat Elimination Match": Authors of Pain (c) vs. The Revival vs. #DIY:

** First Elimination: The Revival hit the ring and double team Rezar. Gargano and Ciampa hit the ring next and join in on the 4 on 2 beat down on the AOP. The Revival and #DIY start trading blows back and forth now. Gargano and Wilder stop swinging on each other and both suicide dive onto Akam and Rezar outside. Wilder goes to the top rope and super plexes Gargano all the way out to the floor and on top of everyone, taking all six men out. Dawson tosses Ciampa into the ring, but Rezar comes in and decks Dawson. Akam and Rezar grab Ciampa and hit The Last Chapter for the pinfall, eliminating #DIY, and getting a bullshit chant from the crowd started.

** Final Elimination: AOP double team Wilder and go for a double team move. Dawson makes the save and The Revival hit german suplexes for a near fall. AOP go for The Last Chapter on Dawson, but Wilder makes the save and gets another near fall. AOP grab Dawson and Wilder and drill both men with power bombs. Dawson can barely stand, but somehow fights back and gets another near fall on Rezar. AOP hit the Super Collider on Wilder and Dawson, score the pinfall and retain the tag team titles.
Winners: The Authors of Pain, by pinfall, to retain the NXT World Tag Team Championship.

- "NXT Women's Championship Match": Asuka (c) vs. Ember Moon: The match closes out with Ember connecting with a drop kick on Asuka, follows that with a knee and then a fall away slam. Ember continues to unload on Asuka, until Asuka catches Ember with a german suplex for a near fall. Ember and Asuka trade shots back and forth until Ember drops Asuka with a forearm. Ember suplexes Asuka and gets a near fall. Ember sets up Asuka for the Eclipse Stunner, but Asuka meets Ember on the ropes and cuts off the finisher. Ember fights off Asuka and sends her flying off the ropes to the mat. Ember resets for the Eclipse Stunner, but Asuka shoves the referee into the ropes causing Ember to lose her balance and fall off the ropes. Asuka nails Ember with the Asuka Kick and scores the pinfall. Asuka remains undefeated and her title reign is over a year now.
Winner: Asuka, by pinfall, to retain the NXT Women's Championship.

- Drew Galloway, formally Drew McIntyre of the WWE is spotted sitting in the crowd.

- "NXT World Championship Match": Bobby Roode (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: The match closes out with Roode and Nakamura trading offensive moves with each other. Nakamura drops Roode and goes for the Kinshasa, but Roode escapes to the floor. Roode comes back into the ring and catches Nakamura with the Glorious DDT for a near fall. Roode growing irritated, goes to the floor, grabs the ring bell and brings it into the ring. The referee steps in, warns Roode about having the bell and then takes it away from Roode. Nakamura drops Roode while he's distracted by the referee and then hits an exploder suplex on Roode. Roode counters the Kinshasa by planting Nakamura with a spinebuster and gets another near fall. Roode and Nakamura trade shots and more offense until Nakamura blasts Roode in the face with a knee for a near fall. Nakamura takes Roode into the corner where Roode suddenly drills Nakamura with the Glorious DDT right out of the corner to score the pinfall and retain the title.
Winner: Bobby Roode, by pinfall, to retain the NXT World Championship.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 3/23/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT saw Oney Lorcan battle Andrade "Cien" Almas in one on one action. NXT Women's Champion Asuka battled Priscilla Zuniga in a one on one non title match. The main event of the show saw SAnitY battle Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong and No Way Jose in a Six Man Tag Team Match.

** NXT **

- Oney Lorcan vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas: The match closes out with Almas countering a suplex and striking Lorcan. Lorcan plants a headbutt, but Almas hits a springboard Pele Kick. Lorcan lands more strikes, but Almas delivers a lariat. Lorcan ends up in the corner where Almas hits the running double knees on him. Almas plants Lorcan with the Hammerlock DDT and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Andrade "Cien" Almas, by pinfall.

- Backstage, #DIY state that they've been around the world, competed in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, defeated The Revival for the NXT World Tag Team Championship and now are dealing with The Authors of Pain, a team that has no love for the business. #DIY thank their fans and promise to have their moment at Takeover: Orlando.

- Asuka vs. Priscilla Zuniga: Before the match, Asuka sends a warning to Ember Moon and kicks Priscilla's head off. The match closes out with Asuka delivering a hip attack on Priscilla and then plants another kick to the head. Asuka covers, but pulls Priscilla up at two and a half, breaking the pinfall. Asuka finally locks Priscilla in the Asuka Lock submission and gets the tap out victory. After the match, Asuka sends another warning to Ember Moon in Japanese.
Winner: Asuka, by submission.

- Backstage, The Revival state that they've studied the greats and have brought the best of the past to the present. The Revival state that no one has fought as hard as they have to get where they are now.

- Backstage, Tye Dillinger, No Way Jose and Roderick Strong hype their match tonight against SAnitY and state that they have the numbers game evened out now.

- Interview With Kassius Ohno: An interview with Kassius Ohno took place last week after his NXT World Championship Match loss to Bobby Roode. Elias Samson interrupts singing Ohno a song about him failing and not belonging in NXT. Ohno challenges Samson to a "Loser Leaves NXT Match". Samson accepts the challenge.

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": SAnitY vs. Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong and No Way Jose: The match closes out with Nikki Cross getting involved and grabbing Jose's leg, allowing Wolfe to land a big boot. Jose gets worked over by SAnitY until finally tagging Strong, who unloads on everyone. Strong hits backbreakers on everyone and gets a near fall on Young after Dain breaks the pinfall. All six men brawl, forcing the referee to throw the match out.

After the match, Dillinger mud hole stomps Young in the corner until Nikki jumps on Dillinger's back. NXT newcomer Ruby Riot debuts by hitting the ring and laying out Nikki. Dillinger sends Young to the floor, Wolfe gets tossed out and all three men drop Dain. Strong, Jose, Dillinger and Ruby stand tall to end the show.
Winners: No Contest.
