Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 3/23/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT saw Oney Lorcan battle Andrade "Cien" Almas in one on one action. NXT Women's Champion Asuka battled Priscilla Zuniga in a one on one non title match. The main event of the show saw SAnitY battle Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong and No Way Jose in a Six Man Tag Team Match.

** NXT **

- Oney Lorcan vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas: The match closes out with Almas countering a suplex and striking Lorcan. Lorcan plants a headbutt, but Almas hits a springboard Pele Kick. Lorcan lands more strikes, but Almas delivers a lariat. Lorcan ends up in the corner where Almas hits the running double knees on him. Almas plants Lorcan with the Hammerlock DDT and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Andrade "Cien" Almas, by pinfall.

- Backstage, #DIY state that they've been around the world, competed in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, defeated The Revival for the NXT World Tag Team Championship and now are dealing with The Authors of Pain, a team that has no love for the business. #DIY thank their fans and promise to have their moment at Takeover: Orlando.

- Asuka vs. Priscilla Zuniga: Before the match, Asuka sends a warning to Ember Moon and kicks Priscilla's head off. The match closes out with Asuka delivering a hip attack on Priscilla and then plants another kick to the head. Asuka covers, but pulls Priscilla up at two and a half, breaking the pinfall. Asuka finally locks Priscilla in the Asuka Lock submission and gets the tap out victory. After the match, Asuka sends another warning to Ember Moon in Japanese.
Winner: Asuka, by submission.

- Backstage, The Revival state that they've studied the greats and have brought the best of the past to the present. The Revival state that no one has fought as hard as they have to get where they are now.

- Backstage, Tye Dillinger, No Way Jose and Roderick Strong hype their match tonight against SAnitY and state that they have the numbers game evened out now.

- Interview With Kassius Ohno: An interview with Kassius Ohno took place last week after his NXT World Championship Match loss to Bobby Roode. Elias Samson interrupts singing Ohno a song about him failing and not belonging in NXT. Ohno challenges Samson to a "Loser Leaves NXT Match". Samson accepts the challenge.

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": SAnitY vs. Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong and No Way Jose: The match closes out with Nikki Cross getting involved and grabbing Jose's leg, allowing Wolfe to land a big boot. Jose gets worked over by SAnitY until finally tagging Strong, who unloads on everyone. Strong hits backbreakers on everyone and gets a near fall on Young after Dain breaks the pinfall. All six men brawl, forcing the referee to throw the match out.

After the match, Dillinger mud hole stomps Young in the corner until Nikki jumps on Dillinger's back. NXT newcomer Ruby Riot debuts by hitting the ring and laying out Nikki. Dillinger sends Young to the floor, Wolfe gets tossed out and all three men drop Dain. Strong, Jose, Dillinger and Ruby stand tall to end the show.
Winners: No Contest.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 2/23/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT saw Ember Moon, Liv Morgan and Peyton Royce battle in a #1 Contenders Triple Threat Match. Pete Dunne battled Mark Andrews in one on one action. NXT World Champion Bobby Roode battled No Way Jose in a one on one non title match.  

** NXT **

- "#1 Contenders Triple Threat Match": Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan vs. Peyton Royce: The match closes out with Ember going for her Eclipse Stunner, but Billie Kay interferes. Ember takes Billie out with a Stunner instead. Liv takes advantage and tosses Ember to the floor. Peyton hits the Fisherman’s Buster on Liv and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Peyton Royce, by pinfall, to become the new #1 Contender to the NXT Women's Championship.  

- Pete Dunne vs. Mark Andrews: The match closes out with Andrews getting a near fall head scissors on Dunne. Dunne goes to work on the hand and arm area on Andrews. Andrews comes back, hits the Slumdog Millionaire and then goes to the top rope. Dunne blocks Andrews' high flying by getting his knees up. Dunne hits Bitter End on Andrews and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Pete Dunne, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are celebrating. Peyton guarantees she'll beat Asuka next week for the NXT Women's Championship.

- Interview With Tye Dillinger: Dillinger talks about SAnitY attacking him and Roderick Strong and No Way Jose helping him. Dillinger says he has an agenda and it doesn't involve SAnitY.

- No Way Jose vs. Bobby Roode: The match closes out with Jose landing a near fall hammerlock slam on Roode. Jose chases Roode into the corner, but eats a boot. Jose connects with a punch on Roode and puts Roode down. Jose goes for the cover, but Roode plays possum, grabs Jose and hits the Glorious DDT for the pinfall. After the match, Roode goes after Jose's knee and locks in a half crab submission. Kassius Ohno hits the ring and chases off Roode.
Winner: Bobby Roode, by pinfall.

- Kassius Ohno Promo: Ohno says the crowd and Bobby Roode know exactly who he is, he's been in NXT before, he has always taken what he wants and Roode has what he needs. Roode, who's on the NXT stage, claims to be a fighting champion and will fight Ohno right now. Roode hits the ring and takes out Ohno's leg and goes to work on it. Ohno fights back, unloads on Roode and leaves Roode laid out in the ring to end the show.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 2/9/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT saw Dain and Wolfe of SAnitY battle The Bollywood Boyz in tag team action. Liv Morgan battled Billie Kay in women's division action. The Revival battled Heavy Machinery in tag team action. The new NXT World Champion Bobby Roode had his Glorious Celebration. The main event saw Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong and No Way Jose battle SAnitY in six man tag team action.

** NXT **

- SAnitY (Dain and Wolfe) vs. The Bollywood Boyz: The match closes out with The Boyz attempting a double super kick, but Dain plows both men over with a clothesline. Dain slams both Boyz on top of each other and then hits the Michinoku Driver to score the pinfall. After the match, Nikki Cross screams for Asuka. Eric Young tells Tye Dillinger that he again  isn't asking Dillinger to join SAnitY, he's demanding him to join.
Winners: SAnitY, by pinfall.

- Liv Morgan vs. Billie Kay: The match closes out with Billie suplexing Liv for a near fall. Peyton Royce tries to help Billie, but gets sent flying after Liv shoved Billie into her. Liv rolls up Billie and bridges it to score the pinfall.
Winner: Liv Morgan, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Tye Dillinger talks about Takeover and the Royal Rumble. SAnitY suddenly attack Dillinger from behind and beat down Dillinger all the way out to the ring. Roderick Strong and No Way Jose hit the ring and make the save for Dillinger.

- Backstage, William Regal announces that Tyler Bate will defend his WWE United Kingdom Championship next week against Trent Seven. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay interrupt and demand a match with Liv Morgan. Regal announces a tag match for next week against Liv Morgan and a partner of her choice.

- It's announced that Shinsuke Nakamura won't need surgery, but a return time is still unknown.

- The Revival vs. Heavy Machinery: The match closes out with Dozovic hitting a side slam on Dawson and tags in Knight, who cleans house. Wilder pulls Dozovic off the apron and attacks him outside. Knight tries to make the save, but gets planted with the Dawson DDT, allowing The Revival to score the pinfall. After the match, The Revival call out the NXT World Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain and challenge them to a match at Takeover: Orlando. AOP hit the ring, but The Revival retreat. The AOP celebrate and get caught off guard by The Revival who return and attack AOP from behind. The Revival again retreat before the AOP can regroup.
Winners: The Revival, by pinfall.

- Bobby Roode's Glorious Celebration: Roode says he's not the type to say that he told you so....but....wait yes he is, he told you so. Roode hypes everyone that Shinsuke Nakamura has beaten in NXT, but he's never beaten Bobby Roode. Roode jokes that Nakamura gave everything he had and still couldn't get the job done. Roode says his win was the greatest moment in NXT, NXT now have a real champion, this is his NXT and NXT is now....GLORIOUS!

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, No Way Jose vs. SAnitY (Eric Young, Dain and Wolfe): The match closes out with Dillinger slamming Wolfe and tagging in Strong. Strong unloads and takes out all of SAnitY. Strong drop kicks EY and a six man brawl breaks out. Nikki Cross interferes and head scissors Dillinger over the top rope. Dain plows over Strong and EY scores the pinfall.
Winners: SAnitY, by pinfall.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 2/2/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT saw Ember Moon battle Aliyah in one on one Women's Division action. WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate battled Oney Lorcan in a non title one on one match. In the main event No Way Jose battled Elias Samson in a one on one match.

** NXT **

- Ember Moon vs. Aliyah: The match closes out with Ember hitting a springboard moonsault on Aliyah. Ember attempts a power bomb, but Aliyah lands a head scissors take down. Ember cracks Aliyah across the face with a forearm and then hits the Eclipse Stunner to score the pinfall.
Winner: Ember Moon, by pinfall.

- NXT Women's Champion Asuka was shown being interviewed after NXT Takeover: San Antonio. Asuka was asked about Ember Moon wanting to face Asuka next for the title. Asuka says "Ember Who? She works here?" smiles and says "Ok".

- Backstage, Ember Moon is told about Asuka's comments. Ember says Asuka is tough, but after the war is settled, Asuka will know exactly who Ember Moon is.

- Tyler Bate vs. Oney Lorcan: The match closes out with Bate uppercutting Lorcan and then spins Lorcan around. Bate stops and then spins Lorcan in the opposite direction. Bate and Lorcan trade shots with each other. Bate hits the Tiger Driver 97 on Lorcan and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Tyler Bate, by pinfall.

- The new NXT World Champion Bobby Roode will be on NXT next week for his Glorious Celebration.

- No Way Jose vs. Elias Samson: The match closes out with Samson applying a headlock and counters a Jose reversal by grabbing his hair. Jose lands a side slam and then unloads jabs and a hip toss on Samson. Jose hits Samson with the pop up knockout punch to score the pinfall.
Winner: No Way Jose, by pinfall.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 12.15.16: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT saw Shinsuke Nakamura defend the NXT World Championship against Samoa Joe inside a Steel Cage. A series of matches began to determine a new #1 Contender to the NXT World Championship, which included Eric Young vs. Tye Dillinger, Andrade "Cien" Almas vs. No Way Jose, Roderick Strong vs. Elias Samson and Bobby Roode vs. Oney Lorcan.

** NXT **

- "NXT World Championship, Steel Cage Match": Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Samoa Joe: The match closes out with Nakamura and Joe fighting on the top rope, up against the cage wall. Nakamura counters a Muscle Buster and power bombs Joe off the top rope. Nakamura then leaps off the top rope, nails Joe with a Super Kinshasa and goes for the cage door to escape. Just as Nakamura is about to escape to win, he slams the door shut, charges Joe and nails another Kinshasa. Joe is still barely in it so Nakamura nails a third Kinshasa on Joe, covers, scores the pinfall and retains the title.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall, to retain the NXT World Championship.

- "#1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Qualifying Match": Tye Dillinger vs. Eric Young: The match closes out with Young landing punches in the corner, but Dillinger hits a clothesline. Dillinger hits perfect 10 punches and stomps and goes for the Tye Breaker. Nikki Cross hits the ring and attacks Dillinger getting Young DQ'ed. After the match, Big Damo hits the ring and lays out Dillinger.
Winner: Tye Dillinger, by DQ, to advance to the #1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Match.

- "#1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Qualifying Match": Andrade “Cien” Almas vs No Way Jose: The match closes out with Almas unloading kicks, a snap mare and then a drop kick on Jose. Jose escapes a rear naked choke submission and hits a arm drag neckbreaker on Almas. Jose hits a pop up punch on Almas and goes for the TKO. Almas counters, hits a Cobra DDT and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Andrade "Cien" Almas, by pinfall, to advance to the #1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Match.

- "#1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Qualifying Match": Roderick Strong vs. Elias Samson: The match closes out with Samson getting Strong in a tree of woe and chokes Strong. Samson hits a charging knee to Strong's head and then applies a side headlock. Strong hits a dropkick and multiple elbows on Samson. Strong hits the C4 and then a superkick to score the pinfall.
Winner: Roderick Strong, by pinfall, to advance to the #1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Match.

- "#1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Qualifying Match": Bobby Roode vs. Oney Lorcan: The match closes out with Lorcan unloading European uppercuts on Roode and then a running Blockbuster. Lorcan goes to the top rope and attempts a Super Blockbuster, but Roode dodges it. Roode nails the Roode Spinebuster and then the Roode Bomb on Lorcan to score the pinfall.
Winner: Bobby Roode, by pinfall, to advance to the #1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Match.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 12.8.16: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT featured DIY, The Revival and The Authors of Pain arguing over the #1 Contendership. No Way Jose and WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann battled SAnitY. Ember Moon battled Kimber Lee in Women's Division action. In the main event, Samoa Joe defended the NXT World Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. 

** NXT **

- DIY Promo: Gargano and Ciampa immediately get interrupted by Paul Ellering and The Authors of Pain. Ellering reminds us that the AOP are undefeated and the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. The Revival interrupt next, state they are the rightful #1 Contenders and the only reason AOP won is because The Revival helped them. Both AOP members shove Wilder and Dawson to the mat. Ellering says the next chapter has been written already and it ends with the Authors of Pain winning the NXT World Tag Team Championship.

- No Way Jose and Rich Swann vs. SAnitY (Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe): Before the match, Young throws a jacket down in the middle of the ring, stomps on it, then tossed it out of the ring. The jacket is believed to be Sawyer Fulton’s and it appears he's been kicked out of SAnitY. The match closes out with Jose hot tagging and clearing the ring. Swann hits a corkscrew senton on Wolfe. Wolfe tosses Swann into the steel steps. Big Damo suddenly appears and attacks Jose. Young hits the wheelbarrow neck breaker on Jose and scores the pinfall.
Winners: SAnitY, by pinfall.

- Backstage, NXT GM William Regal announces that DIY will face The Revival for the NXT World Tag Team Championship with the winners facing Authors of Pain at NXT Takeover: San Antonio. Tye Dillinger interrupts and says he doesn't deserve to be in NXT. Regal announces that he's also booking a tournament to crown a #1 Contender to the NXT World Championship.

Ember Moon vs. Kimber Lee: The match closes out with Kimber missing a kick and Ember getting a near fall roll up. Kimber goes to the corner where Ember hits a front flip elbow on Kimber. Ember hits the O Face Stunner on Kimber to score the pinfall.
Winner: Ember Moon, by pinfall.

- "NXT World Championship Match": Samoa Joe (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: The match closes out with Joe and Nakamura brawling on the floor. Nakamura blocks a Uranage Slam and hits the Kinshasa on Joe, sending Joe into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Nakamura and Joe trade strikes. Nakamura hits an axe kick, follows that with a knee to Joe's head then picks Joe up in a fireman's carry. Joe escapes, however, Nakamura hits a Super Kinshasa off the ropes on Joe. Nakamura hits another Kinshasa, covers, scores the pinfall and wins the title from Joe.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall, to win the NXT World Championship.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 12.1.16: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

This week's NXT featured NXT Women's Champion Asuka battling Nichole Matthews in a one on one non title match. No Way Jose battled Eric Young of SAnitY in a one on one. In the main event, NXT World Champion Samoa Joe battled Tye Dillinger in a one on one non title match.

*** NXT ***

- Asuka vs. Nichole Matthews: The match closes out with Asuka lighting up Matthews with kicks to the chest until Matthews drops to the mat. Matthews goes to the corner and lands a boot on a charging Asuka. Matthews leaps off the ropes, but gets caught by Asuka and locked in a Fujiwara armbar submission. Asuka turns it into a cross armbreaker and then turns it into the Asuka Lock submission for the tap out victory.
Winner: Asuka, by submission.

- Backstage, Samoa Joe says whether Shinsuke Nakamura gets his rematch or not, he's not on Joe's level. Tye Dillinger interrupts and asks for a match. Joe says Dillinger isn't on his level either. Dillinger says he has "10" reasons why he deserves one, but he'll give Joe 5. Dillinger slaps Joe in the face and walks off.

- No Way Jose vs. Eric Young: The match closes out with Jose landing a jawbreaker and then dodges a Young corner charge. Jose unloads some punches, a clothesline and a neck breaker. Jose with a pop up punch on Young, but Nikki Cross jumps on the apron to run distraction. Young hits a wheelbarrow neck breaker and scores the pinfall on Jose.
Winner: Eric Young, by pinfall.

- Samoa Joe vs. Tye Dillinger: The match closes out with Joe eating a super kick from Dillinger, but kicks out on a near fall. Dillinger goes for the Tye Breaker, but Joe escapes into the corner. Dillinger charges, but gets planted with the Uranage Slam by Joe. Joe gets a near fall power bomb on Dillinger, then turns it into a Boston Crab submission. Joe applies an STF, turns it into a crossface and then applies the Coquina Clutch submission, forcing Dillinger to tap out.
Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 10.5.16: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your NXT Recap Edition.

This week's NXT took place at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. The Second Annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament Classic got underway. Rich Swann battled Patrick Clark in one on one action. Peyton Royce battled Danielle Kamela in one on one women's division action. Dan Matha gets his NXT debut spoiled. Samoa Joe sends out a warning to NXT GM William Regal.

*** NXT ***

- "Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament Classic Match": The Authors Of Pain vs. The Bollywood Boyz: The match closes out with Rahzar and Akum double teaming Harv. Harv hits a chin breaker on Akum and tags in Garv. Garv gets destroyed with a clothesline on his way in. The AOP hit their double team finisher, score the pinfall and advance to the Final Eight.
Winners: The Authors Of Pain, by pinfall, to advance to the Final Eight.

- Rich Swann vs. Patrick Clark: The match closes out with Clark charging at Swann in the corner, but Clark eats a Swann boot. Clark comes back and tries a Stinger Splash, but again misses and kisses the turnbuckle. Swann lands a spin kick into Clark's gut and then follows that with the Swann Kick. Swann hits a handspring moonsault on Clark and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Rich Swann, by pinfall.

- Peyton Royce vs. Danielle Kamela: The match closes out with Peyton delivering a knee and a cross arm strike before locking in a rear chin lock on Danielle. Danielle is able to finally escape the hold and drill Peyton with a somersault back elbow. Peyton unloads a forearm to the back of Danielle and then hits a Perfect Plex for the pinfall.
Winner: Peyton Royce, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Tye Dillinger gives a speech on what Dusty Rhodes meant to him. Dillinger's partner, Bobby Roode, doesn't let Dillinger finish his speech as he is more worried about being GLORIOUS!

- Dan Matha's Debut: Dan Matha heads to the ring for his debut match, however, gets attacked from behind by an angry Samoa Joe. Joe lays out Matha with a beat down and grabs a microphone. Joe blames William Regal for his anger and promises to continue to destroy NXT talent until Regal either gives Joe a rematch with Shinsuke Nakamura or just gives Joe back the NXT World Championship. Joe gives Regal one more week to make his decision.

- Backstage, Rich Swann and No Way Jose decide that they will team up together and enter the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament Classic.

- "Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament Classic Match": The Revival vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas and Cedric Alexander: The match closes out with Almas tagging in a hot Alexander. Alexander hits a running knee on Dawson and follows that up with a handspring enziguri. Wilder breaks up a pinfall attempt and tries to help Dawson double team suplex Alexander. Almas catches Alexander on the landing and Alexander gets a near fall sunset flip with a bridge on Dawson. Alexander charges, but gets destroyed with the Shatter Machine by Dawson and Wilder. The Revival score the pinfall and advance to the Final Eight. After the match, Almas snaps and attacks Alexander for losing the match. Almas beats Alexander down to the floor and then hits a fireman's carry face buster on Alexander right into the steel steps.
Winners: The Revival, by pinfall, to advance to the Final Eight.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 5.5.16: NXT #NXT #WWE

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your NXT Recap Edition.

This week's NXT took place at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. NXT World Champion, Samoa Joe, gets challenged by a familiar face from his past for the main event. Nia Jax takes on Tessa Blanchard in women's division action. "Double A" Austin Aries takes on Tye Dillinger in a one on one match. The Hype Bros look for revenge on Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson after last weeks beat down, in tag team action. No Way Jose battles Noah in one on one action.

*** NXT ***

- Samoa Joe Promo: Samoa Joe says he's putting the world on notice, it's his time, he's running things and he will beat down and choke out anyone that gets in his way. Samoa Joe gets interrupted by.........former TNA original Eric Young. EY says he knows what Joe can do and the only thing guaranteed is change. EY points to Joe's championship and says he loves to collect those. Joe says EY doesn't belong here and the next time he gets in the same ring with him, Joe will kick his ass.

- Tessa Blanchard vs. Nia Jax: The match closes out with Nia making quick work of Tessa. Nia hits a corner avalanche splash and follows up with a samoan drop on Tessa. Nia drops the leg drop on Tessa and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Nia Jax, by pinfall.

- Tye Dillinger vs. Austin Aries: The match closes out with Dillinger landing a firemen’s carry neck breaker combo on Aries for a near fall. Dillinger pulls down his knee pad and measures up Aries for his finisher. Aries blocks with an elbow and drops Dillinger with a corner drop kick. Aries goes to the top rope, hits a 450 Splash on Dillinger and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Austin Aries, by pinfall.

- The Hype Bros vs. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson: The match closes out with Ryder sending Wilder into the turnbuckle and tags in Mojo. EY sets Joe up for the pile driver, but Joe fights out and plants a charging EY with a uranage suplex. Joe unloads a series of corner hand slaps on EY and plants EY with the Muscle Buster. Joe traps EY in the Coquina Clutch submission and forces EY to tap out.
