Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 3/30/17: NXT Recap

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you this week's NXT recap.

We are just 3 days away from NXT Takeover: Orlando during Wrestlemania weekend!

This week's NXT saw a Triple Threat Match between Dash Wilder of The Revival, Akam of The Authors of Pain and Johnny Gargano of #DIY, giving us a preview of their huge NXT World Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match at Takeover: Orlando. Heavy Machinery returned to NXT and battled Mike Marshall and Jonathan Ortagun in tag team action. NXT Women's Champion Asuka and Ember Moon sign their contract, making their NXT Women's Championship Match official at Takeover: Orlando. The main event of the show saw Kassius Ohno battle Elias Samson in a Loser Leaves NXT Match. 

** NXT **

- "Triple Threat Match": Dash Wilder vs. Akam vs. Johnny Gargano: The match closes out with Akam going for a power bomb, but Gargano escapes and connects with a boot on Akam. Gargano goes for the pinfall, but Rezar grabs Akam and pulls him outside. Ciampa goes after the AOP, but gets dropped by Akam on the floor. Gargano goes for a DDT on Akam, but gets caught and power bombed hard into the mat. Scott Dawson grabs Akam's leg and distracts him. Wilder slides back into the ring, covers Gargano and steals the pinfall.
Winner: Dash Wilder, by pinfall.



- Heavy Machinery vs. Mike Marshall and Jonathan Ortagun: The match closes out with Heavy Machinery making quick work of their opponents in a squash match. Dozovic power bombs his partner Knight on top of their opponents and score the easy pinfall.
Winners: Heavy Machinery, by pinfall.

- Backstage, William Regal is seated with Asuka and Ember Moon. Ember says Asuka is a great champion, but it's all going to her head and she will dethrone the champion. Asuka says that Ember isn't ready for her, but Ember disagrees. Both ladies sign their contract and Asuka walks out.

- "Loser Leaves NXT Match": Kassius Ohno vs. Elias Samson: The match closes out with Samson trapping Ohno in a crossface submission. Samson blocks Ohno from escaping the submission on several attempts until Ohno finally reaches the ropes. Both men unload punches on each other until Samson plants Ohno and gets a near fall. Ohno counters a boot, lands a jumping knee strike and then a kick for a near fall. Samson tries to steal a rollup pinfall with his feet on the ropes, but gets busted by the referee. Samson plants Ohno with his neckbreaker finisher, but Ohno kicks out at two and a half. Ohno connects with the Roaring Elbow out of nowhere and scores the pinfall on Samson. After the match, NXT Officials and NXT Security are forced to escort Samson out of the building as he refuses to leave. Ohno offers to give Samson his guitar on the way out, but ends up smashing it to pieces as Samson is dragged out to end the show.
Winner: Kassius Ohno, by pinfall.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 5.5.16: NXT #NXT #WWE

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your NXT Recap Edition.

This week's NXT took place at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. NXT World Champion, Samoa Joe, gets challenged by a familiar face from his past for the main event. Nia Jax takes on Tessa Blanchard in women's division action. "Double A" Austin Aries takes on Tye Dillinger in a one on one match. The Hype Bros look for revenge on Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson after last weeks beat down, in tag team action. No Way Jose battles Noah in one on one action.

*** NXT ***

- Samoa Joe Promo: Samoa Joe says he's putting the world on notice, it's his time, he's running things and he will beat down and choke out anyone that gets in his way. Samoa Joe gets interrupted by.........former TNA original Eric Young. EY says he knows what Joe can do and the only thing guaranteed is change. EY points to Joe's championship and says he loves to collect those. Joe says EY doesn't belong here and the next time he gets in the same ring with him, Joe will kick his ass.

- Tessa Blanchard vs. Nia Jax: The match closes out with Nia making quick work of Tessa. Nia hits a corner avalanche splash and follows up with a samoan drop on Tessa. Nia drops the leg drop on Tessa and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Nia Jax, by pinfall.

- Tye Dillinger vs. Austin Aries: The match closes out with Dillinger landing a firemen’s carry neck breaker combo on Aries for a near fall. Dillinger pulls down his knee pad and measures up Aries for his finisher. Aries blocks with an elbow and drops Dillinger with a corner drop kick. Aries goes to the top rope, hits a 450 Splash on Dillinger and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Austin Aries, by pinfall.

- The Hype Bros vs. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson: The match closes out with Ryder sending Wilder into the turnbuckle and tags in Mojo. Mojo sends Dawson flying off the apron and then hits a Pounce on Wilder. Dawson blind tags in and takes control. Dawson and Wilder hit the Shatter Machine on Mojo to score the pinfall.
Winners: Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, by pinfall.

- No Way Jose vs. Noah: The match closes out with Noah landing a punch on Jose that gets Jose fired up. Jose unloads a series of nonstop chops on Noah, plants Noah with a full nelson slam and scores the pinfall.
Winner: No Way Jose, by pinfall.

- Eric Young vs. Samoa Joe: The match closes out with EY dropping the top rope elbow on Joe for a near fall. EY sets Joe up for the pile driver, but Joe fights out and plants a charging EY with a uranage suplex. Joe unloads a series of corner hand slaps on EY and plants EY with the Muscle Buster. Joe traps EY in the Coquina Clutch submission and forces EY to tap out.
Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission.

NXT Takeover: Dallas #NXTTakeOver #NXTTakeOverDallas

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you the NXT Takeover: Dallas recap.

NXT Takeover: Dallas took place live at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Finn Balor defended the NXT World Championship against Samoa Joe. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson defended the NXT World Tag Team Championship against Jason Jordan and Chad Gable. Bayley defended the NXT Women's Championship against Asuka. Plus two huge NXT debuts of former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Austin Aries and former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura.

Before we get to the recap, me being the metal/rock guy at Triple Threat CLE would like to share one of NXT Takeover: Dallas' theme songs for the event. This is Halestorm performing Mayhem.


*** NXT Takeover: Dallas ***

- "NXT World Tag Team Championship Match": Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson (c) vs. Jason Jordan and Chad Gable: The match closes out with Jordan going for a superplex on Dawson, but gets shoved off the ropes by Wilder. Dawson tries to steal a pinfall with his feet on the ropes, but Jordan kicks out at two. Jordan gets a near fall rollup on Dawson, then catches a european uppercut by Wilder and nearly pinned by Dawson, as Gable stops it. Wilder and Dawson go for their double team gut buster finisher, but Jordan counters and gets a near fall.
Jordan misses a charging corner shoulder block as Wilder pulls Dawson out of the way. Gable is in and he and Dawson both trade near falls with each other. Jordan tags in and spears Dawson out of nowhere. Jordan and Gable hit their double team finisher, score the pinfall and walk out the new tag team champions.
Winners: Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, by pinfall, to win the NXT World Tag Team Championship.

- Baron Corbin vs. Austin Aries: The match closes out with Aries climbing to the top rope and nailing a missile drop kick on Corbin. Corbin rolls to the floor to escape, but Aries suicide dives an elbow into Corbin. Aries charges at Corbin, Corbin side steps and hits Aries with Deep Six right on the floor. Aries barely makes it back into the ring avoiding the count out. Corbin goes for End Of Days on Aries, but Aries counters out, rolls Corbin up and scores the debut pinfall.
Winner: Austin Aries, by pinfall.

- Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: The match closes out with Zayn locking Nakamura in the Koji Clutch submission, but Nakamura counters into a near fall. Zayn misses Helluva Kick and gets hit with an exploder suplex by Nakamura. Zayn hits the Blue Thunder Bomb and Nakamura rolls outside. Zayn misses the diving DDT and eats a Nakamura kick. Nakamura gets cut off on the top rope by Zayn, but he shoves Zayn off the ropes. Zayn catches Nakamura charging at him and goes for the exploder suplex. Nakamura blocks it with a series of elbows on Zayn. Nakamura goes to the second rope and nails Zayn in the head with the Bomaye Knee. Nakamura sets up Zayn and plants another Bomaye Knee, covers and scores the debut pinfall.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall.

- "NXT Women’s Championship Match": Bayley (c) vs Asuka: The match closes out with Asuka missing a couple kicks and Bayley with a near fall rollup. Bayley counters the Asuka Lock with a suplex. Bayley tries the Rings Of Bayley submission, but can't lock it in. Asuka hits a suplex on Bayley, applies an arm bar, which she turns into a Dis-Arm-Her and turns that into the Asuka Lock submission. Bayley fights for her life and stays on her feet. Asuka plants Bayley on the mat with the Asuka Lock submission still locked on. Bayley fights for her life still and again gets back to her feet. Asuka slams down Bayley again and keeps the Asuka Lock submission locked in. Bayley keeps fighting and tries to escape, but eventually passes out from the pain. The referee stops the match and Asuka takes the championship.
Winner: Asuka, by stoppage, to win the NXT Women's Championship.

- Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Bobby Roode, is shown sitting in the crowd.

- "NXT World Championship Match": Finn Balor (c) vs. Samoa Joe: Finn Balor comes out with a chainsaw as a tribute to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The match closes out with Joe countering Sling Blade and hitting a belly to belly on Balor. Balor finally hits the Sling Blade, but misses the running drop kick. Joe gets a near fall senton on Balor. Joe hits a power bomb, turns that into a Boston Crab submission, then turns that into a crossface submission. Balor escapes, hits a double foot stomp, hits a Sling Blade and a running drop kick.
Balor goes to the top rope, but gets hit with the Joe Muscle Buster for a near fall. Joe slaps Balor, but Balor hits the Pele Kick. Balor hits a drop kick, the top rope double foot stomp and goes for Bloody Sunday. Joe counters and locks Balor in the Coquina Clutch submission. Balor fights for his life and gets back to his feet. Balor rebounds his feet off the top turnbuckle, flips on top of Joe and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Finn Balor, by pinfall, to retain the NXT World Championship.


- This closed out the show.

WWE RoadBlock Recap #WWERoadBlock

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you the WWE Roadblock pay per view recap. WWE Roadblock took place at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Tonight's show featured "The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar battle the leader of the sadistic Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper in a handicap match. NXT World Tag Team Champions, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, defended the tag titles against Enzo Amore and Big Cass. WWE World Tag Team Champions, The New Day, defended the tag titles against Sheamus and King Barrett of the League of Nations. WWE Divas Champion, Charlotte, defended the title against the Hart family veteran, Nattie Neidhart. Chris Jericho went one on one against Jack Swagger. Sami Zayn went one on one with Stardust. In the main event, Triple H defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against "The Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose.

*** WWE Roadblock ***

- "WWE World Tag Team Championship Match": The New Day (c) vs. Sheamus and King Barrett: Before the match, The New Day mock the League of Nations and reveal a box of "Booty-O's" cereal, getting the crowd to chant "Booty-O's". The match closes out with, Sheamus blocking SOS from Kofi, but eats a Kofi boot to the face. Kofi gets a near fall cross body on Sheamus, then misses hitting Trouble In Paradise. Sheamus locks Kofi in the Cloverleaf submission as Barrett pulls Big E off the apron. Big E grabs Barrett and sends him into the ring post. Kofi escapes the Cloverleaf and gets a near fall roll up on Sheamus.
Big E tags in and goes for the Big Ending, but Sheamus escapes and sends Big E into the corner. Sheamus tosses Kofi to the floor as Barrett tags in. Barrett lands a kick and covers Big E, but Woods distracts the referee. Sheamus chases Woods, but Sheamus gets laid out by Kofi. Big E hits the Big Ending on Barrett during the distraction and scores the pinfall.
Winners: The New Day, by pinfall, to retain the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

- Backstage, Paul Heyman christens Toronto as tonight's capital for Suplex City. Heyman says Brock Lesnar will get revenge on Bray Wyatt. Bray will be beaten, victimized, suplexed, F-5'd and conquered.

- Chris Jericho Promo: Jericho tells the fans to shut their mouths which starts "AJ Styles" chants. Jericho tells the fans to go to hell and calls them typical Canadians for playing catch up with the rest of the world. Jericho says he's a Canadian icon which starts "Bret Hart" chants. Jericho says he's ashamed to be a Canadian, ashamed so much that he moved to the U.S. and calls Toronto the anus of the world. Jericho makes fun of the fans for chanting for the flavor of the month and then mocks his opponent tonight, Jack Swagger. Jericho reminds us that he's the best in the world and demands the fans to pledge with him that he's the best in the world. Jack Swagger finally interrupts Jericho and we're ready for Jericho vs. Swagger.

- Chris Jericho vs. Jack Swagger: The match closes out with, Jericho blocking the Swagger Bomb by getting his knees up. Jericho hits the running bulldog on Swagger, but misses the Lionsault. Swagger hits the Swagger Bomb on Jericho and gets a near fall. Jericho rolls Swagger up into a roll through and traps Swagger in the Walls Of Jericho submission. Swagger counters out of it and traps Jericho in the Patriot Lock submission. Jericho counters out of it by nailing Swagger with an enziguri. Jericho yells at Swagger to get up and goes for the Code Breaker when he does. Swagger catches Jericho on the Code Breaker attempt, slams Jericho and gets a near fall. Swagger locks in the Patriot Lock submission again on Jericho. Jericho is able to escape the Patriot Lock and trap Swagger in the Walls Of Jericho submission. Swagger tries to fight out, but ends up tapping out.
Winner: Chris Jericho, by submission.

- "NXT World Tag Team Championship Match": Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson (c) vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass: The match closes out with, Big Cass laying out Wilder with the East River Crossing, as Enzo tags in and goes to the top rope. Enzo and Cass go for the Rocket Launcher, but Dawson stops it. Dawson tries to use Carmella as a shield as Cass chases him, but Dawson gets slapped in the face by Carmella. Cass gets laid out on the floor with a 3D and Dawson gets back in the ring. Enzo rolls Dawson up and gets a near fall. Dawson gets busted open and the referee calls time to check on Dawson. Enzo doesn't care as he continues to unload on Dawson. Wilder tags in, allowing Wilder and Dawson to hit the Shatter Machine to score the pinfall.
Winners: Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, by pinfall, to retain the NXT World Tag Team Championship.

- Earlier today, Nattie Neidhart says she's dedicating her match tonight to her uncle, Bret Hart. Charlotte and Ric Flair interrupt and call her a tune up for Wrestlemania. Nattie gets Charlotte to put the WWE Divas Championship on the line tonight, after she says her uncle Bret was right about the Flairs being cowards.

- "WWE Divas Championship Match": Charlotte (c) vs. Nattie Neidhart: The match closes out with Charlotte getting a near fall on Nattie with Natural Selection. Charlotte hits a suplex on Nattie and goes for a moonsault from the top rope. Nattie counters it with a sit-down power bomb and gets a near fall on Charlotte. Nattie goes for the Sharpshooter submission, but Charlotte counters with a near fall roll up. Charlotte goes for the Figure Four submission but Nattie breaks it and reapplies the Sharpshooter submission. Charlotte can't reach the ropes, but grabs Ric Flair's hand instead, distracting Nattie. Flair gets on the apron where Nattie yells at him and slaps him in the face. Flair falls off the apron, as Charlotte sneaks in from behind and rolls Nattie up for the pinfall.
Winner: Charlotte, by pinfall, to retain the WWE Divas Championship.

- Bray Wyatt Promo: Bray gives props to Brock Lesnar, but promises he and Luke Harper will conquer the beast. He knows this because he made a deal with the devil himself, who stated that he and Harper would slay the beast.

- "Handicap Match": Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper: The match closes out with, Harper hitting a clothesline on Lesnar for a near fall, then applies a sleeper. Lesnar escapes the sleeper and german suplexes Harper. Harper tries to slow down Lesnar with kicks, but gets planted with another german suplex, after missing a clothesline. Lesnar hits another german suplex on Harper and then smiles at Bray Wyatt who's watching from the floor. Lesnar with three more huge german suplexes on Harper, as Heyman begins to laugh at Lesnar's destruction. Lesnar finally hits the F-5 on Harper and scores the pinfall. After the match, Bray Wyatt leaves and goes backstage as Lesnar and Heyman head his way. Lesnar looks back and smiles at Harper being checked on by the referee and heads backstage.
Winner: Brock Lesnar, by pinfall.

- Sami Zayn vs. Stardust: The match closes out with, Zayn unloading corner punches on Stardust and then slams Stardust. Zayn goes to the top rope, but Stardust cuts him off. Zayn rolls off and slams Stardust on the mat. Stardust goes to the floor and Zayn follows with a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Zayn ducks Stardust offense and gets a near fall Blue Thunder bomb. Stardust regains offense and goes for the Queen's Crossbow, but Zayn blocks it. Stardust comes back and hits the Disaster Kick on Zayn for a near fall. Stardust charges at Zayn, but Zayn catches him and hits the exploder suplex on Stardust. Zayn charges at Stardust and drills Helluva Kick to score the pinfall.
Winner: Sami Zayn, by pinfall.

- "WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match": Triple H (c) vs. Dean Ambrose: The match closes out with, Triple H getting sent to the floor and Ambrose suicide dives him into the barricade. Ambrose sends Triple H into the barricade a couple times, hits a flying elbow to the floor onto Triple H and then mocks Triple H with crotch chops. Ambrose talks trash before dragging Triple H onto the announcers table. Ambrose lands a series of punches on Triple H and gets fired up.
Ambrose runs the barricade and leaps at Triple H, but Triple H moves and Ambrose crash and burns through the table. Ambrose barely beats the ten count and rolls back into the ring. Triple H measures up a hurt Ambrose and drills him with the Pedigree to score the pinfall. After the match, Triple H celebrates his successful title defense and now looks ahead to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 32.
Winner: Triple H, by pinfall, to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
